We were recommended the grooming service here as we have just moved into the area. Took both our Wheaton Terriers for a grooming and they looked great, very happy with the job but then it hit us. BOTH seemed to act strange that night and the following day by not eating or drinking and sitting in the corner behind chairs. Almost traumatized they continue to act afraid all the time. *Update Jan 2026* I still love Dog Spot Hotel! My pitty is still hanging in there but my Dane went to the rainbow bridge several years back. We have a Doberman now and he's a handful. Thank heavens Dog Spot knows how to work with him and keep him on the up and up. Recently used them for an 8 night stay and my goodness they came back so happy and depleted of energy, they had a great visit! While gone, I had a nightmare about them...and because my anxiety got the better of me, I called and the staff was so friendly and kind. They were able to tell me that my pitty was sleeping soundly under her blanket and that my Doberman was out playing and living his best life. Put my mind at ease and made my heart smile. We have to go out of town periodically and need a safe and dependable place to board Lilo, our Australian Shepherd. We liked the great reviews that we read on the Dog Spot Hotel in Melbourne, Florida and boarded her there for the first time this past weekend. Their facility has a drop off point in front of the building and there were people out there to register pets and then take them into the facility, which is very efficient. Lilo had a great time playing with the other dogs and enjoyed the extra treats and walks that we ordered for her. I've been coming here for close to 12 years for boarding and daycare. When my last boxer passed I eventually welcomed a new boxer puppy. We have used Dog Spot since it first opened years ago and have always had great experiences. However, the last time we left them for a week while we were on a cruise we were Very disappointed and are debating whether to use them again. We had sent a brand new bottle of doggie peanut butter flavored bubbles. When we picked the dogs up I asked the girl if they'd had time to do the bubbles with the dogs. She smiled and said " they loved it". When we got home the factory seal was still on the bottle. So, if you aren't truthful about one thing, how can I trust that you'll be truthful on my dogs care? Then when we got home our male Boston wasn't acting right. I called them and asked if he'd been ill acting. They said no. By the next day we had him at the emergency vet where he was diagnosed with kennel cough and put on meds. He was fullly vaccinated. read more

I began boarding my elderly cat here 5 yrs ago during my vacations of 1-2 weeks. I could not be happier with this facility. They have cared for my special needs cat who requires medication competently and with care and empathy every single time at a very reasonable price, even going so far as to call me to request permission to bring him to the vet for a swollen eye which turned out to be an infection which they then cared for promptly and competently. Blake (our dog) got stung by a bee prior to us dropping him off, he seemed fine but then had an allergic reaction in his paw while there. I've been bringing my 2 yr old Weimaraner there for over a year and also used with my prior dog before he passed. I love how the staff seem to genuinely care for the dogs and knows their personalities and quirks! Most importantly, they have an understanding of dog behavior and appear very quick to judge a dog's changing mood. They will call you if there is a problem. A negative is weekend care- just not available. Sometimes it's what you need. Would also like indoor/covered play BUT this should be changing when the new building opens!! It may be lacking some fancy stuff- been to one that had all the bells and whistles but dog was not handled properly- but it's the staff that interacts with your dog that's important. read more

We've brought our pup to this facilities a few times now. The staff are kind and great with animals and the dogs all seem to have fun! My pup always comes back exhausted from playing with the other dogs, she absolutely loves it. However, I'm not sure the staff are that careful with the animals. For one, they don't even know how to spell my dog's name or that she is a girl, not a boy. They write short reviews of the animal's stay for when they are picked up. However, the most recent review raved about how excited they were to see our little boy again soon... Also, this most recent stay our pup came home covered in scratches and with an eye infection. I understand that dogs play rough with each other and that she was close with a lot of other dogs and things can spread easily, I just wanted people to know that this is a possibility. The cost is also not too terrible. We have a large dog so it's $35 for a night. However, do be warned, their weekend prices are a little wacky. The only time you can pick up on a Sunday is from 4-6 PM, however you get charged an extra $20 for them taking care of your dog during the day. This last stay we dropped our dog off at 8AM on Saturday and picked her up during the only time we could on Sunday and it was $55 dollars rather than $35. I understand paying more for them taking more care of her, but I would have picked her up in the morning if the facility was open! It's just a little frustrating. I think you should either not charge extra, or have pick up hours be in the morning so people can not pay the extra money if they don't want to. I had super high hopes for this place as I have seen so many great reviews. the convenience of this place is great! the setup was a sell. however I just brought my dog home today after he stayed 2 nights. All I can say is that he is not acting like himself and seems uncomfortable. This also isn't the first time he's been away from me so I know when something is up. He was extremely thirsty, way more than usual and he was completely covered in old dried pee. I know grooming was an extra charge but if I saw someone's dog was covered in pee I would at least wipe them down, especially if the smell was strong. read more

A great place for your furry family member. This business is located off wickham road just south of Pineda causeway. It is about ¾ mile to the east of wickham in a business park. The building has a drive up area for drop off and about 15 parking spaces. The staff is wonderful. We have used them for overnight stays for previous pets and are using them sparingly for our current furry family member. We have been dropping him off for a few hours during the day. The staff has been great about making him feel welcome and putting him in small and large groups to help him learn his social skills. Currently, to meet COVID requirements, the staff meets you outside the lobby in the drive through area and does the drop-off/pick-up there instead of inside. The inside is always clean and they are friendly toward all the pets. I highly recommend this place if you want to let your dog have a break from you. read more

New to the area and this was the first boarding place we used since moving here. When we dropped off our babies it was loud and chaotic. We dropped them off with their perfectly good beds and some nylo bones in a bag. When we picked them up on Saturday, we were told that they had a great time and did really well. When we got the beds back, both were wet, but a mumbled response about "rinsing" them off...and the bones just as they had been delivered, apparently unused. Which is probably why the one bed was also chewed up. They had both gotten groomed and were still quite damp when we got them. Our older dog was coughing a bit, which we hoped was from the bath. But no, he definitely has kennel cough!! And an obvious case. So, how did they do well? Play well with other dogs? Hoping other dogs don't get this! Why didn't they take him to the vet? We signed an agreement that they would take them to their vet if something came up. I am figuring the dog beds were wet with sputum. They are in the trash. We are giving him honey and hoping to get him to the vet today (Sunday) and hoping my other dog doesn't catch it. Both are vaccinated. We won't be back to Dog Spot. We feel no trust whatsoever. read more
