We brought our rescue dog here today. We weren't sure how she'd do since she's a little timid. We were greeted immediately when we came in and we gave Cheyenne a little background on our dog. I'll admit I was nervous leaving her because she's never been to a groomer before. We just picked her up and OMG she looks sooooo good! Cheyenne did amazing with her and said how good our dog did during her spa day. We will definitely be back with our German Shepherd next

This place is paw-som!!! From my interaction over the phone, to drop off/pick up; these girls are amazing. This was my first time taking our dog Leo and they did an amazing job. Drop off was scheduled at 9:30 am, I arrived at the same time as another client so I waited outside. I was very happy to see that the doggy getting dropped off first was very happy to see their groomer. I felt more at ease leaving Leo. I was greeted by the owner Kaitlyn. We went over how I wanted his hair cut and was told they will give me a call when they are close to finishing up and will advise the cost once they complete the job. I made her aware that Leo is completely blind and she stated they have worked with many blind dogs so he is in good hands. Place is located on a busy street kinda hidden so you want to approach it at a slow speed. Parking and entrance is at the rear of the building. Cute little location. Forms of payment were cash, check or venmo. I got a call around 1:30 pm letting me know he was ready for pick up. I couldn't believe how much of a stud they made him look. From wags to riches hehe My parents were very pleased with his new look. They have gained a new regular customer.

Oh my gosh Cheyenn was a miracle worker for my baby Juneau! I was deep in the dog groomer TikTok's and I got paranoid about my own brushing skills so I was anticipating my pup getting shaved down completely due to either bad behavior or matting. But to my joy Cheyenn said Juneau was amazing and well mannered and had zero mats!! I was anticipating the worse (I'm a paranoid pet parent) and was thrilled to see Juneau cut perfectly, and SO soft and she smelled so good!! She loved the place and wanted to go back in! I booked my next appt and Juneau will be there!

I took my dog, Benny, to Pampered Paws to see Katelyn for his monthly grooms and she did so amazing with him! Benny had a really bad grooming experience at Petco that left him traumatized. Katelyn was incredibly kind and patient and got Benny to a point where he became comfortable getting groomed again. Unfortunately, I moved out of town and can no longer bring Benny to Pampered Paws, but I wanted to give them a review for their great work. Today was my first time bringing in my fur baby Luna. And I am very pleased with my experience. I was greeted by Kaitlyn and she also groomed/pampered luna. She took the time to ask me how I wanted her cut answered all of my questions. She definitely made me feel comfortable leaving my baby in her hands. Location is definitely a hidden gem. Very clean inside and had a sweet personal spa vibe for dogs. I noticed all the girls had smiles while working & actually looked like they enjoyed doing their job .

Thanks to Rhonda, my Pomeranian came back feeling soft, looking AMAZING, and smelling beautiful! It's been about 4 years since she was groomed, I was a bit traumatized because the last person that groomed her did way too much that I didn't even recognize her. When I came to Rhonda she new exactly what I wanted plus more!! She welcomed my dog with lots of love and I know she took perfect care of her during the appt. My boyfriend and I took our shitzu to pampered paws for the first time. When we walked in we were greeted with such kindness. I was nervous leaving our baby girl there because it was her first time ever being groomed! Kaitlyn assisted us and asked us what we wanted to be done. I told her I wanted a simple trim and a clean up. She told us to come back in a few hours.. we walked out knowing that she was in good hands. Came back in 2 to 3 hours and our pup looked like a new girl. We couldn't even recognize her because she looked so cute. Kaitlyn added two little bows which I loved! Kaitlyn did an awesome job & she was super sweet and gentle with our pup. She was also efficient in contacting both my boyfriend and I to let us know our girl was ready to be picked up. I love this place because it's local, they're professional and the customer service is great. If you're going here for the first time need to bring your puppies shot record and they are cash only. read more

Best grooming service we've been to! We took our Shih Tzu, Theo, for a groom. His undercoat was super matted from using the wrong brush all this time. As soon as we walked in, they were very kind asking us how we wanted our pup to look. I asked for the puppy cut but to keep the ears longer and for his body to still be fluffy and a bit long. The last time we went to a different groomer, they just shaved him down because he had a couple of mats here and there but Cheyenne was so patient with him, brushing him out and being sure to give him the cut I asked for. He looked AMAZING and it was exactly what I asked for. Definitely coming back! read more

If I could Leave 0 stars I WOULD! I took my yorkie in for grooming, he had minor matting by his legs & eye boogers. I advised that I didn't want his hair gone, just taken down. I stated she can get lower where the matting is but keep his face with a beard & teddy bear cut. after a couple hours of grooming , she called stating he looks nice & ready for pickup. When I arrived she stated "if I put him down will he run?" As a distraction for me to give her the money first without seeing my yorks cut. Soon as I seen him I stated "THIS ISNT WHAT I ASKED FOR" THE CUT WAS TERRIBLE! Instead of her grooming with interest of her customers she did otherwise! Cutting off all of his hair ! Bruising him with the clippers & gashing underneath his eyes with the clippers INSTEAD of washing it & clipping with scissors! TERRIBLE JOB, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I WOULD NEVERRRR RECOMMEND THIS GROOMERS TO ANYONE. First & LAST TIME GOING. Refused to give me a refund ! I am so mad I see the gashes after I paid! Contacting my lawyer to move forward with legal action! DO NOT GO HERE FOR GROOMING! My pup was traumatized when I picked him up , refusing to relax afterwards! NEVER WILL I EVER RETURN! The ladies at Pampered Paws are great with my dog! They take the time to sit and listen to what you want and they take more than enough time to consider different cuts and styles if you don't know what you want. The only reason I give them a 4 is because the last time, they cut my dogs hair unevenly. One side of his face was longer than the other. They were inconsistent, however, they are super sweet and service is good read more

Exceptionally disappointed. They groomers seemed nice at first but not only did they not listen to the cut I wanted for my fur baby but when I came to pick him up they were unprofessional and not timely. It took them an extra 3 hours on top of the 3 they originally quoted me. I also had an appointment so there's no reason it should have taken 6 hours to groom my dog. Also his nails were not cut and they didn't clean his ears properly. Will not be returning and will spread the word. Also:: if you try to use the discount at check out the owner has to be present apparently. So just be mindful of that. read more

I was referred here by one of my coworkers and I'll tell you this place is amazing! Reasonably priced and you can tell that the staff loves animals and what they do. Today was our second visit to Pampered Paws with our 9 month old collie, Willow. Just like the first time, Rhonda did an amazing job and Willow is the picture of perfection! The calm and friendly atmosphere in the salon, the knowledge of Rhonda, Stephanie, and the other groomers, the fact the Willow shows no stress when we pick her up and in fact, is in NO HURRY to leave.....those are priceless gifts! If anyone has worry about grooming, this is the place to go. They understand the different treatments for each different dog coat and Rhonda has told me what tools are best to use at home (not by brand, just by type of grooming tool) so that we don't make any grooming mistakes with our beautiful Willow between her trips to Pampered Paws. Love Love Love Pampered Paws! Rhonda is awesome. I've tried a few other groomers - mobile and otherwise - who just wanted to shave my doodle when he got knots. Rhonda "The Knot Whisperer" takes the time to gently get out knots or trim as little as possible. Kaitlin is the best!! She makes my "fear aggressive" cockapoo look amazing, even though he can be a terror to try to groom. When I first starting bringing him, she spent about 15 minutes listening to our story and learning about my high-anxiety baby. She is so loving and patient with him and he always comes home looking and feeling great. :) She is also wonderful with our new maltipoo puppy who is still unsure what to do and expect. I had an experience today at Pampered Paws, and after reading another negative review of1 1/2 cut injury while cutting nails on this site, I feel like I need to let others know that this occured. I have been getting both of my spaniels groomed for the last 2 years, by a lady named Stephany, who did an exceptional job on them, however she is no longer with Pampered Paws. Since then, I have brought them there and have had issues with nail length, being left way too long and the time it took to groom one dog was 6 hrs. When I brought my female spaniel in today, I mentioned the nail lenghth that were left long from the last time, and then she asked me if I would help her cut my dogs nails (even with another employee in the shop). Between that and after mentioning the 6 hr groom time, she offers me what she called "express grooming" to be completed in 2 hours for $10 dollars more!! At this point, I knew it was time to leave Eek Methinks not indeed! read more

History

Established in 2011.

I, Rhonda Miller, started working for Michelle's Pet Boutique as a groomer's assistant. Over the years I had worked up through the business to the manager's position before Michelle's Pet Boutique had closed. I had then decided that I wanted to build my own business and opened Pampered Paws.

Meet the Business Owner: Rhonda L.

Hi I just wanted let our clients ,or even future clients in on a little about me. I started out as a bather at Bonnie's Pet Grooming in 2003, I really liked working with the animals but there were too many personality conflicts, so I looked into other grooming shops in the area. I got a call back from Anne Martin of Jubilanne's and I started work the next day. Now back then(as a bather) I didn't even realize how much I would love my job (as a groomer) . It wasn't until I started working at Michelle's Pet Boutique for Michelle Morgan in 2006, that I new I had found what I wanted to be.I felt so at home there, The values and standards of grooming that Michelle taught me, well they are the back bone of what Pampered Paws stands for.

Julie you're absolutely right it does depend on size and breed . And yes we do brush teeth but there is a $5 additional charge for that.

I had no problem with the price and work and always left a generous tip. Frankie started shaking when we showed up for recent grooming and seemed terrified to go in and especially to go behind the counter. I thought that kind of odd. The last time I picked her up the owner and groomer of Frankie began to whine and about to cry telling me what a tough time she had. She's done this before but this time it was very unprofessional. She complained that the cut we wanted was difficult and took her too much time. In the beginning if she found a problem she would call and I would tell her to go ahead and groom her anyway she needed to resolve an issue. I don't know why this was not the case. I don't know what happened to Frankie to make her dislike going to Gentle Touch and just fear it's because of the frustration the groomer projects when grooming her. Hopefully it was just that but still I fear it may have been more. Like I said the work is mostly exceptional but the way she whines about a job that frustrates her is very unprofessional. We are easy going people and it takes a lot to bother me but this certainly does. I've read other peoples reviews that stated they felt guilt after she tells them of a difficult groom. I'm paraphrasing of course. She would do well not to show her emotions to her customers. I've taken Frankie to a new salon and the two girls are so wonderful with them and show genuine love for clients pets. I won't say where I'm taking them now because that would not be appropriate in this review. I do wish Gentle Touch well and appreciated the majority of their service. I just think SHE can do better with her clients. I'm sure I'll get some long retort from this as that seems to be the case with most people with a complaint on here. Good day all.

The girls are ao kind here and I brought two of my dogs in @ two different times. The service seems extremely rushed and obviously not thorough. My standard Poodle should not only take 1.5 hours. Oh and WAY overpriced for terrible work.When it was just one dog, I took it as a simple mishap. Now the second dog on a completely different day. Not a mishaps just bad work.

When it's that' time, I take her in to the groomer. I called in earlier in the week and explained the situation, I also explained that at this point, she is 15 years old. I was told, bring her in on Saturday, and we will take a look at her. We will groom her if we feel it is safe to do so. They had me bring her in at 7 AM. I had absolutely no problem with that whatsoever, because they wanted to get her groomed before all of the dogs start coming in. I thought that was very nice of them. Less stress. I brought her in, and I was met by Sherry. Sherry was very friendly, and she listened to what I had to say, she looked the cat over, and said that it could be done. We decided on a "lion cut" where the head stays the same, and there is a "poof" at the end of the tail. They offer a bathing along with the grooming, but the last time I was here, they recommended not to do it because of her age. They felt it would be too stressful. That was very nice of them to advise me of that. So again, this time, a bath was off the table... About an hour later, I got a call from Sherry. Willi was all done. Sherry told me that she handled the grooming very well. Five years ago, the price was $60, this time, it was only $85, plus a nice tip, of course. That's not a bad price increase for five years. To keep their prices down, they do not take plastic, it's just cash or check. If Willi needs another grooming down the road, she will be back. if this is it for her, and somewhere down the road, I get a new kitty, that kitty would also come here. Thank you again for all your kindness.

On one occasion, Cheyenne had something come up (as we all do from time to time), so I received a text asking if it was OK for an alternate groomer to provide the service. We were a bit nervous at first, but Raine did amazing!!!! Two great groomers? Whaaaat?! Today, Cheyenne took care of my girls in usual perfection, and then, to my surprise, a text message from Santas workshop was sent with these adorable pictures.

We were looking for…read morea new pet salon because it was hard to schedule appointments with our current salon and I was very impressed by The Dog House Pet Salon's ability to fit us in quickly! The groomers always do an amazing job and always double-check with me about how I want Leo's hair cut. Leo hates baths and being brushed, but everyone at The Dog House Pet salon is always so patient with him! I'm also impressed with how fast the pets are groomed here. Previous groomers would book multiple dogs at a time and have Leo sitting in a crate longer than he needed to, but at this salon, the dogs are never in the crates more than necessary. Serena and her team are awesome and I couldn't recommend this pet salon enough!

Then Michelle and now Rhonda has been my grooming my dogs for almost 20 years. I live in Roseville and travel to Carmichael because of the care they provide to my animals. Now that Rhonda has taken over I will continue to bring my third baby (Pom) to her as I have my others. I remember once when they were moving, I took my dog to another groomer, they asked me what I wanted done, I just said the standard cut. Well, to my surprise, Michelle/Rhonda had been doing my dogs so long I never realized, they NEVER cut their hair. This other groomer did such a complete botch job I had to bring my dog to Michelle/Rhonda just so they could FIX what this other groomer completely messed up, of course they did!! I was very pleased, @ which time they told me they never took scissors to my baby. Rhonda is the only one who handles my precious lil guy!.. Bless you, Rhonda! Georjean Hidalgo read more

I've only got my dog Vinny "pampered" one time. The pampree treated Vin with nothing but respect, caring, kindness and an undo spoiling. Vincenzo Raul Demille can be quite a pill, but the pamptress called Kaitlyn Doyle calmed him down with an ease which I can not explain. Thank you Kaitlyn and Pampered Paws, I can't believe how you make these crazy dogs do what they do. read more

Very professional, great with the animals and terrific results!. We've taken our cats and dogs there over the years for variuos types of grooming and have always been very pleased with their work. Nice to have the safer parking area in back so that you're not loading and unloading the animals on the side of the busy street. read more

I LOVE bringing my dog here!!! He is a mini-horse curly poof Goldendoodle and this is the ONLY place I will ever bring him. They take their time with each animal making sure they aren't too stressed out. The dogs well being is the most important thing to Kaitlyn. read more
