I love Dr. Brady. Another reviewer called her "pleasant and sincere" and I just can't think of a better way to describe her! She is always honest and walks you through anything she's about to do to you, makes sure you're comfortable, and just seems to operate at a happier baseline than most Washingtonians (myself included). Dr. Brady does an incredible job with my teeth, and I actually look forward to my appointments with her. I also love that she makes you send yourself a reminder postcard--it's a bit harder to break the appointment when you've sent yourself a note not to! Her little bags post-appointment include the toothbrush and toothpaste that most dentists give you, but I absolutely love that she also gives you a little chapstick. She also puts chapstick on you while she's working on your mouth. It's just one small detail in how she makes you feel like a whole person and not just another mouth to work on. She never talks down to you, and shows you exactly what she's going to do either with a mirror or on your x-rays. I just can't say enough kind things about her. By way of just one example: I recently changed jobs and thus dental insurance, and wasn't able to go to Dr. Brady any longer unless I wanted to pay a certain amount out of pocket. I wish I just had, as the dentist I went to instead made me realize why so many are afraid of dentists. This other dentist ended up killing a tooth, and rather than going to him to fix anything, I saw Dr. Brady and took her recommendations for who to go to for a root canal. I was really scared after this other dentist's terrible bedside manner and treatment (and my tooth HURT!) and through it all Dr. Brady was kind, calm, and reassuring. She never said anything negative about this other dentist, or made me feel silly for being so scared. She was just calm and reassuring and got me a same day appointment for a root canal so I could get back up and running. She's phenomenal. read more

Dr. Brady can be very nice, but also cold and mean. At my last two appointments she really upset me, and this last appointment I silently cried during the cleaning because she was so unsupportive and dismissive about a personal issue that she told me "would never get better" and to basically get over it and deal with it, since other people do too. She and her staff will also give you the 10th degree if you cough, even a little. I just feel really uncomfortable emotionally and physically there and changed providers. read more

Dr. Brady can be very pleasant and even fun when she is in a good mood but I have also experienced her as dismissive and cold. Her work has been very good except one time it took three tries for her to deal with a filling. The women who clean your teeth couldn't be nicer and the office itself is one of the nicest environments. In the end, I stopped feeling comfortable with Dr. Brady so stopped going. read more

There are only a few businesses that get me to review them multiple times with the coveted 5 stars, but Dr. Brady is one of them. I had a mix up with my appointment where thy called me to confirm I was coming in today, but I thought they were another doctor's office and I told them I couldn't make it since I knew I had this appointment. Anyway, when I arrived, they had cancelled my appointment but Dr. Brady squeezed me in at my scheduled time. Usually, this wouldn't be such a big deal with some dentists, but if you know Dr. Brady, she's packed and its hard to get an appointment with her. Pamela Brady is hands-down the best dentist I've ever been to. Due to some terrible experiences I had in the past, I avoided the dentist for years. Then, I woke up a few weeks ago in severe pain, needing to see someone NOW. I called Dr. Brady's office, and they didn't hesitate in telling me to come in ASAP. They said they would find a way to have the doctor fit me in between patience. Upon arrival, I waited no more than 10 minutes to be taken back for x-rays. Unfortunately, the tooth had to be removed. This was a tooth that should have been taken care of some time ago, but due to my anxiety regarding the dentist, I blew it off. There was absolutely no judgment from the dentist or the assistant on this point. None. Nada. No, "Why didn't you take better care of your teeth?!?!" No, "OMG, you don't floss?!?!!" No, "I don't care if you didn't have insurance...it's your health!!!!!" None of that. She was extremely friendly and comforting. After she removed the tooth, she very kindly asked when my last cleaning was, offered no commentary or shocked looks, and said, "Please come back and see me soon." A couple of weeks passed and I went in for my cleaning. Everyone was super friendly and, once again, there was no commentary on the condition of my teeth. Dr. Brady did a thorough check, made sure there were no new problems, and helped with a plan to get me on track to healthy teeth. The patient paperwork makes it very clear that they are willing to work with you as much or as little as you like; if you are interested in fixing numerous problems, they are willing to do what needs to be done, at your pace, to get your teeth into great shape. To top it all off, the office is really nice and very accessible via metro. I can't say enough about Dr. Brady. She's fantastic, and certainly a dentist to try if you have put off visits for awhile or have an emergency come up. read more

I LOVE going to the dentist! That's because my dentist is Dr. Pamela Brady. I started going to her years ago even though she's out of network for MetLife because her office was two blocks from where I used to live. We've both moved since then and her new location (though not so new as of today) is a beautiful space and all high tech and digital. X-rays, television, dental records, etc. can all be brought up on the monitors above the dental chairs, which are all at the technicians' and the dentists' fingertips and a click of a wireless mouse. Before she opened her own practice, Dr. Brady would usually do my cleaning as well as the examination. Now she just comes in for the final exam and to find out how things are going, both professionally and personally. When I've had dental "emergencies," she's always fit me into her schedule and taken care of the problem right quick. I also like the hygienist who does my very thorough cleaning and the receptionist as well. Upon Dr. Brady's dental partner's recommendation, I also started going to Price Medical as my general practitioner. She's the medical professional that I have the closest relationship with and someone I enjoy talking with as well. She's a great listener with excellent bedside manner and is definitely in the right profession! read more

Three visits for what was supposed to be a routine filling. Had a cavity filled and went back 10 days later because of sensitivity to pressure. The bite didn't feel snug so Dr. Brady thought a minor adjustment would fix the problem. It didn't. It wasn't unbearable, just annoying and frustrating. I ended up waiting for my routine cleaning appointment six months later to bring up the issue with Dr. Brady. She didn't really have an answer, and said it could be that that tooth in particular was "non-responsive" or "allergic" to the composite material. Yeah right. I've had several filling with the same stuff. Anyways, she offered to redo the whole tooth and I let her. It's a little better but not a lot. It still bothers me to chew crunchy food on that side of my mouth. Time, money and patience was wasted for what should have been a simple procedure. It's too bad because I like Dr. Brady and her staff, except for the front desk manager. She's unpleasant, which would be fine if she provided excellent service. Not the case. read more

She's quick and nice, and does not lecture about flossing so much as gently and informatively remind. I hadn't gone to the dentist for nearly 7+ years because my last experience was horrible. Dr. Brady entirely changed that. She is extremely nice, considerate, funny and explains every step she is taking in detail. She is officially my dentist. Right after my appointment today, I scheduled another appointment with her. Dr. Brady herself is lovely, but she's impossible to get an appointment with, and her office staff is unbearable. After a cleaning in December, I scheduled a follow-up for 6 months later before leaving the office. The week before my June appointment (which should have been May, but she was booked solid for May), I received a voicemail from her office cancelling my appointment and asking me to call back at my convenience in the next few weeks to reschedule for July. When I called to reschedule, I was placed on hold for 12 minutes, and when someone was finally able to take my call, I had to explain myself all over again, and was summarily told that I could reschedule the appointment for sometime at the end of August or in September because she was booked solid until then. I inquired why I'd been asked to rebook for July if she was unavailable until August or September, and was told she'd had "a handful of cancellations that I could've taken if I'd called back the day I received the voicemail." As I'm in the middle of getting my wisdom teeth out, I'll need to find another dentist ASAP to work with my oral surgeon, but the office staff couldn't have cared less. read more

I have not one bad thing to say about Dr. Brady and her staff. Her office is clean and her staff is friendly and efficient. Dr. Brady is super gentle and informative and I love that while she's cleaning your teeth you can watch TV, awesome! While the visit is generally quick, you don't feel like you are being rushed out so that the next patient can be swooped into your spot. After searching all over the DC Metro area I have finally found a good dentist. Give her a visit you will not regret it! If you're in the city and not within walking distance you should probably take a cab. There are a few parking garages around but depending on where in the city you are coming from a cab might be cheaper. read more

Best dental experience ever. I've never been excited to go to the dentist so I can't believe I'm actually writing this review - but I just had to! The whole experience was just incredibly easy. After making my appointment with the receptionist over the phone, she immediately emailed my forms. She told me to fax them back right away to avoid filling out paperwork during the appointment. I arrived about 15 minutes ahead of my appointment and I only ended up waiting about 5 minutes. Dr. Brady's assistant, Amanda, brought me in and did all my x-rays. She was so pleasant and happy and friendly and funny. Didn't know getting x-rays could be fun. :) Dr. Brady actually did my cleaning and then went over everything in the x-rays and was so hands-on and clearly explained everything that she was seeing. She also examined not just your teeth, but your jaw, neck, and toungue. Happy to have finally found a dentist that I actually like! Oh - and the lip balm before the cleaning? It's true!! :) I highly recommend Dr. Brady. She (along with her staff) is top-notch! read more

no one likes to go to their dentist...but dr. brady was so great during my first visit to her that i at least tolerated this dental visit. the office was very efficient, having all the forms sent over early so you wouldn't have to waste time filling them out in the lobby and can just zip in and out. but at the end of the day, what matters most in any visit to any medical provider is whether or not you feel better leaving the office than you did walking in. and though i was just going in for a check up and a cleaning, bedside manner is still important. and dr. brady has GREAT bedside (or i guess in this case, chair-side) manner. i definitely don't look forward to going to the dentist for my next cleaning, but at least i won't loathe it like i have with other dentists. and if i can keep teeth nice and healthy as dr. brady has directed me to do, i can avoid having to visit her more often. read more

Dr. Brady and her assistant were friendly, practical, and no-nonsense. Exactly what I look for in a dentist. The hygienist, Tawana, however... You don't realize how gentle most hygienists are until you find one who clanks her metal tools around in your mouth - banging them off tooth after tooth. Aside from the usual floss and polish, she also had some sort of jagged power tool she used to jab at my gums until I felt there must be blood flowing in several places. Half an hour after leaving, my mouth still hurt. I'm happy with Dr. Brady, but cleaning is a key part of any dental visit. I'm going to have to think about whether I subject myself to this again. read more

Today was my third visit to Dr. Brady. The first two were regular cleanings, but today I called because I felt a jagged spot in my back molar and wanted to make sure everything was ok. Dr. Brady's staff told me I could come in right away. Turns out I had a loose filling that needed replacement. Dr. Brady did it right then and there. She was thorough, courteous, and efficient, not to mention I was in and out in under an hour. I have nothing but great things to say about this office! read more

She was able to squeeze me in for an emergency appointment (that turned out to be a little bit unnecessary), gave me a referral to a great Oral Surgeon right down the street, and even handed me tissues while I had a mini-breakdown in her office. Doctor Brady is caring, attentive, detail-oriented, and doesn't make you wait too long. She has a personality that radiates warmth and is reflected in her whole staff. When you go to her office, you feel like a friend and a valued customer and not just a number or a nameless patient. I went to her after another dentist botched an onlay for a broken tooth. Actually, it was Doctor Brady that identified the problem, or confirmed that the pain I still felt in the tooth was the other dentist's fault. That doesn't mean she's the kind of dentist to trash another's work. To the contrary, she very carefully came to the conclusion that there was a problem and was quite hesitant to lay blame. Just had my first appointment with Dr. Brady. Her staff was friendly and the dental hygienist was fantastic. The hygienist was very understanding and attentive regarding my sensitive teeth and did a great job cleaning them while still being gentle. Dr. Brady looked them over, went over my x-rays with me, answered my questions, and was very pleasant and helpful. The office was beautiful, the chairs were very comfortable and the ambiance was relaxing. And I even got to watch TV while my teeth were cleaned. WOW! I cracked an old filling and had to come in to see Dr. Brady. I have terrible angst about the dentist and she sat and talked with me about it. Her staff is so friendly and calming. She took her time, which I really appreciated, making sure that my tooth was adequately numb before she fixed the tooth and replaced the filling. Before she even started, I was so calm. All of the staff was kind and professional, and when I had my teeth cleaned, my hygienist checked in with me regularly to see how I was doing. Dr. Brady was recommended to me by multiple people--who each happened to say that they 'LOVE' her. After my first visit this week I can see why - she is hands down one of the best dentists I've ever been to (and having family in dental practice, I have a pretty high standard). Could not give her enough stars! She goes through all of your X-rays, explains what she is looking for and what she sees. She does the examination of your jaw, tongue, and neck, which most dentists seem to disregard. And, I've seen some dentists who I thought were over-agressive with unnecessary dental procedures (telling me I should cap this before it breaks, replace that now rather than waiting), Dr. Brady went through every tooth issue with me and said everything was fine. The X-ray techs and hygenists are wonderful, super nice people - again, explaining what they are doing and making sure you are comfortable. The office is nice, modern, efficient, with TVs to keep you occupied. Most importantly, Dr. Brady and her staff are not just going through the motions - they really care about your dental health. read more

WOW. This place thinks of everything! At least, that's the impression I got after visiting today for a cleaning/x-ray/exam. At first I was surprised when the hygienist started rubbing her fingers on my lips; then I realized that she was rubbing chapstick/cream of some sort on them -- why have my former dentists never done this?! I left with beautifully soft lips, not dry and cracked from holding my mouth open for 20-30 minutes. This was my very first appointment with Dr. Brady, after a coworker recommended her. Dr. Brady's office is a short 10 minute walk from my office -- my appointment was at 12:50pm and I arrived 5 minutes early. I had already sent the new patient forms by fax, so I sat down to wait -- just long enough to grab a magazine, then I was called back. As my former dentist had neglected to send my records even though I gave them a month's notice (surprise, surprise!), I had bite-wing x-rays taken first. Very easy - all digital - done in no time. I waited a few minutes for the hygienist, Tamara I think?, who was very efficient. She told me to floss more (is there anyone that doesn't get told that? haha) but otherwise everything went fine. Another few minutes was spent waiting for Dr. Brady to come in, then she did her thorough exam (including neck, jaw, gums, tongue, roof of mouth, etc.) and addressed all of my concerns. I checked out at the front desk, made my next 6-month appointment, and I was out of there at 1:15pm! I definitely recommend her office. Just know that your first appointment will likely be a month or so after you call. But I think most dentists are that way because patients tend to make their next 6-month appointment right then and there so they book up pretty quickly. read more

I, like many people, do not enjoy going to the dentist--the noises, the metal in your mouth, and the possibility of cavities has always scared me. All of that changed when I visited Dr. Brady's office. Dr. Brady is friendly and thorough examining more than just your teeth, but your throat and jaw as well. I have had extreme Dentist fear for most of my life. I will say that as of my second visit to Dr. Brady today that fear is gone. I had found her by searching for "gentle" dentists and went to face the music after not going to a dentist for a couple years. She and everyone on her staff are helpful. warm and empathetic. No judgment or lecturing from anyone which is such a relief. I had also been avoiding a dreaded gum scaling for about 5 years so went back today for that. She and her team made me feel at ease and did an amazing job. It was not painful in any way. I had once said after having one scaling I would never go back (they have to do one side at a time) instead I asked how soon I could come back to complete. I've had some good dentists over the years, but never had such a good experience as at Dr. Brady's office, and in one of the worst situations with my teeth. I was new in town, a first time patient and went in for a lost filling with a problem tooth. The office staff, assistants and hygienists were helpful and caring, which seems like it starts with Dr. Brady, who was warm, friendly, and straight forward. After asking questions and checking the tooth out, she explained her impression of the problem and my options, taking my comments about the history of the tooth into account. She ended up referring me to an endodontist, Dr. Blumenkranz, for a consult about a root canal. I came away from my appointment with her well informed about the situation and possible solutions. The next day, after seeing Dr. Blumenkranz, I came back to make an appointment to get a filling put in at his recommendation. They were able to fit me in right away and I must say it was the best experience I've had getting a filling. Dr. Brady put me at ease right away and asked multiple times if I was doing okay. She did the whole procedure herself, rather than handing off the filling to an assistant, which was important given the problems I'd been having. I was actually laughing at one point, and felt like I was in very good hands. Best of all, the tooth feels better than it has in a year, so far. Dr. Brady is a consummate professional, and her staff members---hygienists and receptionists---are pleasant, competent, and accommodating. I've been going to Dr. Brady now for a few years and have been impressed with her calm demeanor and willingness to listen. She does not push services on you, and speaks plainly about required treatments and issues (i.e., there's no confusion about the nature of dental issues and potential methods to remedy said issues). She allows you, as the patient, to ultimately make decisions about your care by having rational conversations with you regarding treatments and options. She is calm, organized, non-judgmental, and well-informed, and I have never had to wait more than a few minutes for my appointment.
