Like the Bishop Arts store, this is easily one of the best smelling shops I've ever entered. The…read moreminute I opened the door the great scent just drew me into the shop. Upon entering there were candles, candles and more candles. I usually frequent the Bishop Arts location but getting there is challenge due to the construction in the area. Also, since I was in the area doing some other things I decided to stop into this location. While the layout of the two stores is similar, this location is more spacious which allows more for more comfortable shopping experience during the busy periods. Also, because of the larger space, they have more product in the store and ready for purchase. Something to note is that while both locations carry the same items; because of demographics availability of certain items may be more readily available at one location than the other. Thankfully, my two favorite candles were in stock making my trip a success. The staff as this location are very welcoming and friendly. The person I worked with was very helpful in pointing out the candles I went for. Of the my two, I was worried that they didn't have one of them and she pointed to where they were and explained the labeling has changed which is why I walked right past them. Having covered a few of the similarities between the two locations; one area where they differ is parking. This location has a huge parking lot (it is shared with other businesses in the area) has plenty of parking. While I don't mind street parking (and walking), there is something to be said for a parking lot as it adds a level of convenience to the shopping experience. Because this was my first visit (I was unsure of the exact location amongst all the other shops), I ended up parking a distance away from the shop and walking to it. I will probably continue to do that as it allows me to still get the walking experiencing. If you're not into walking there are plenty of spaces right in front of the shop. I have been a huge fan of Society and their awesome candles for a few years. While this was my first visit to this location it will not be the last; I foresee many more visits in the future. If you are wanting some nice smelling candles or looking for a unique gift for someone I highly recommend you 'check-in' to Society.

My friend and I were shopping in Dallas and knew we wanted to run by Preston Center so I googled…read morewhat shops were there and came across Society. I wasn't sure if it was a home decor shop or just candles, as I found out they are also a design company. Turns out this is their second location, the first being in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas. This is just a candle boutique, not a home decor or design store. But the owners are designers and have an office elsewhere, if I understood correctly. I loved the look of the store and the salesperson was friendly and helpful. Their candles are pricy but LOVE all the scents and they make a great gift. Oh and I had to buy one for me too! I asked the salesgirl what scent was the most popular and she said No. 2 so that is what I bought for both me and my sister. She wrapped my sister's in a separate bag with tissue so my gift was ready to go! She also gave us tips on how to burn our candles-first time let them burn for 2-3 hours so they burn evenly and don't "hollow" out. Also cut the wick next time I use. I love my candle, I am burning it now! And my sister loved hers too! Will be back, this store is unique!

Super fun, super chill, and surprisingly informative. The scent selection amazing! I thought I knew what I liked until I started mixing and realized I might've been a vanilla+floral girl all along. The team is friendly, helpful, and makes sure you feel good about your candle before it's poured. No pressure, just good energy. The space is cozy and the whole experience felt like self-care with a social twist. For the price, it's an awesome value, and you leave with a custom candle and a solid good time. Would 100% come back for another class or even just to grab a gift!! Maybe scheduling a girls night soon!

I was able to visit their new candle bar at the Dallas Farmers location. It's so easy to walk in, make a customized candle, walk around the farmers market/browse the store, and come back to pick up your finished product! I made a Christmas scented candle to light in my husband and I's new home together and we absolutely LOVE it. One of the best smelling candles ever! We also got a candle kit (includes a candle snuffer and wick trimmer) that works great. Would recommend this experience with your friends or picking up one of their products!

I'll bag a peak any day but if you're sitting ashore you'll be lucky to spot my head far enough out to make you a little nervous, a true mermaid if you will. Having recently relocated to a what might as well be considered a landlocked state (as far North as I am) with no mountains, I was intrigued by the offerings reminding me of home (Malibu & Laguna) and other travels. I booked a class online for bestie and I to partake in over the weekend. Candle making is pretty straight forward, the type of thing I often wonder why Queen of Hobbies hasn't started at home already ;) I also love a great class though! I love learning a craft in a group setting with instruction. We sniffed our way through a variety of beach offerings, each gravitating towards different choices and creating our own special mash up. The jars are all pretty colors, and pouring your wax was really fun. Knowing we created these yummy varietals is what made the entire experience special. I loved the Canva template offerings for custom labels. I picked something very simple and didn't bother really jazzing it up this time around but every part of the experience was a true delight. We have to wait 5 days until we burn them if we want to get the 50 hours of burn time and little miss impatient is counting down. I can't wait to smell my creation. Malibu Apothecary is truly a neighborhood gem that sparks joie! I can't wait to bring my Mom and Sister here. I'd highly recommend for date night, GNO, a fam bam experience or even a nice solo activity. From one SoCal girl to another, Claire nailed this.

Serenity explained the process of blending our scents and was entertaining (after we earned her good graces lol). I'm sensitive to candle smells but I found the large space to be a more inviting feel instead of cramming into a smaller one. Made me feel like I could breathe! I love my candle and can't wait to burn it in a few days.
