Also my toe nails were not cut straight and I was going to bring it to his attention but I noticed I accidentally smudged one toe on my flip flops when I went to the restroom and asked him to fix that one but it seemed like it was a pain or hassle for him to do so, so I didn't even bother to ask him to fix the odd diagonal angle of my other nails. The girl who did my mani just kinda slapped some lotion on my hands at the end, no massage or rubbing the lotion all the way in. However the woman who did my eyebrows was excellent and very sweet and professional. I was just kinda disappointed in the appointment as a whole, especially after seeing all the good reviews on here. Their technician immediately recognized what had gone wrong and carefully explained why the manicure technique I had received was not appropriate. They did everything they could to correct the cuticle work, reshape my nails, and make me comfortable again. While they couldn't undo nails that had already been cut too short or heal an injured toe, they absolutely salvaged the experience. What I appreciate most is the consistency. Every visit is thorough, meticulous, and never feels rushed. The staff is always kind, welcoming, and genuinely invested in doing quality work rather than just getting you in and out the door. Pro tip: If you're planning to walk in, call ahead first. They're popular for a reason and can get busy, but every time I've called on my way over, they've either been able to fit me in or let me know the best time to come by shortly afterward so I haven't had to sit around waiting. But several hours later, my friend's nails are still hurting her, and she was not offered anything to soothe the discomfort, unlike I was. It feels like her concerns weren't really addressed in the moment. Additionally, she asked for a tapered square shape, but the tech told her she should ask for coffin nails next time. We know what a tapered square looks like, so that exchange felt unnecessarily dismissive. Another reason for the rating drop is that we were charged for "length"--but we both got fairly short nails. We even posted photos because it's unclear where that extra charge came from. I'm not expecting a refund, and I understand that a salon in downtown Dallas will likely cost more, but with higher pricing should come a more consistent quality of service. While parts of the experience were positive, the discomfort my friend is still dealing with, along with the shape miscommunication and unclear pricing, made this visit fall short of expectations.

This nail salon is absolutely amazing. I've been going to Mai for over 10 years and was elated when she opened her own salon. Every little detail is so well thought out. You're greeted with a cucumber infused water. She has rose garnished with fruit. She has the only water filtration system in the state for the pedicure bowls. Everything is meticulously cleaned. They have all of the latest Essie and Opi colors. The group of girls who work there have been together for years- Julie, Amy, Mai. They are all amazing. They also have the cutest little girl pedicure chairs and adorable kids pedicures - my daughter got Mickey Mouses and they were perfect! Communication and scheduling are impeccable. This is the reason why I love Mod Nails Lounge! I am so happy and proud of this salon because they are the first Nail business in DFW that care for the customers to install Aquasana Whole House Filtration System. This system is amazing of Preventing Pedicure Infections and Protect Skin Cause of Some incidents of foot spa infections have been caused by Mycobacterium fortuitum. This organism can occur naturally in water. Now disinfection can greatly reduce the risk of getting an infection by reducing the bacteria that can build up in the entire shop pipe system. When I come I can definitely feel safe when I get a pedicure!! Not only are they clean and professional.. the new salon is bright and welcoming!! MOD Nail Lounge is the best salon I've been to. All of the employees are always extremely welcoming, kind, and helpful. They have a variety of colors for regular polish, gel, and dip. I receive compliments from the colors I get done each time I go there. The employees are experts at what they do. They are gentle, careful, and meticulous with their work. Why would you choose MOD over any of the other hundreds of nail salons? Let me start by saying because the group of nail technicians that work there are exceptional. I have my favorite but I always feel that I'm in the best care no matter who does my mani and/or pedi. But to say they're predatory is the least I could say about my experience. The older lady who greeted me when I first walked in pretended she doesn't speak good English and spoke with me in broken English when I'm requesting a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. She's acting all confused and pushing me to get a gel pedicure. I have never gotten a gel pedicure, nor do I need it, saying that they don't have the color to match it and other confused facial expressions and broken English. After she saw I am not going to get a gel pedicure, she proceeded to tell me it's okay, she can do it. I sit down, and then I'm choosing the type of pedicure I'm getting, and last month I got the same: Mojito pedicure. She proceeded to say this doesn't include nail color removal and told me to do the one above it, which is ~$15 more. I looked confused because I have never seen it being told that, ohh, to remove the color on your toenails, you need to get this pedicure to do so; otherwise, the one you chose doesn't include it. It's a freaking regular nail color gets removed by the cheapest nail polish Aston and mind you, I got the same services done 4 weeks ago here with them. So I did comment and told her this is very weird, and I have never seen this before, not even here on my last visit. I have done my nails in Beverly Hills & West Hollywood CA where I used to live before moving to Dallas and even in 2 of the most expensive cities of America, I wasn't told this ridiculous thing. Both the older lady and the younger one who's working now on my manicure were silent. The one who does my pedicure ends up doing a 1/10 job with this service, even though she bamboozled me into a more expensive pedicure service due to the ridiculous reason she stated. She doesn't cut the sides of the nails, she doesn't remove nail color stain even though I have asked her to and she now talks perfect English and said it doesn't need and doesn't tell me why she doesn't want to do it. She then proceeded to huff and muff and talks under her breath and seemed annoyed by me. I'm a person who tips 20% anywhere I go, but this was the first time ever in my life I have decided to tip significantly less due to this older lady's scamming behavior. So with all of this being said, I won't be returning again to this nail salon, and unfortunately, they have lost a regular customer!

None quite as bad as today, however I've noticed the poor attention to detail and lack of care in the services they provide. My pedicure today lasted 26 minutes and was extremely rushed. The file (rasp) she attempted to use on my calluses didn't have a handle, and she briefly rubbed it over each foot rather than actually removing any of my callus build up, leaving my feet rough. She painted over my cuticles and cut several of my toes with the dremel she used. The reasons I kept coming back is that this is one of the cleaner salons I've found near me, and they do a good job with massages. However, I don't think it's worth the cost. I recommend avoiding if you're looking for consistent quality services!
