So, I want to be clear I reached out to the salon to try and rectify this before leaving a negative review. All I asked for was a fix and when she said she couldn't accommodate that I said some sort of $10 off my next service would be nice. Anything. She said she'd reach back out and never did. I got the new builder gel on a Sunday and by the next Saturday it had already started chipping. I called and asked what guarantee they had and they said they could fix it if I came in within the hour. I told them that wasn't enough notice and asked to come in the next day and they said the builder gel girls weren't there so I suggested the next day. They said at that point it would be day 8 and they couldn't guarantee it. Below are pictures of my nails 10 days after. I've been coming here for about a year, and while the nail services themselves are consistently wonderful, the front desk experience has unfortunately made me finally decide to stop coming here, after a year of hoping the front desk would get better. One of the front desk staff members, along with the manager Lauren Pace, are among the most unwelcoming and rude individuals I've encountered in any salon. From the moment you walk in, you're met with glares and a tone that feels dismissive and condescending, for no apparent reason. It genuinely feels like you're inconveniencing them just by being there or asking a simple question. It's disappointing because there are a couple other staff members here who are fantastic. The first time I came here, it took us 3 times to get a basic gel color coat done right. The second time we waited 30 minutes because they were running behind. The third time went smooth. But this most recent visit there was a change in time via text that caused us to be 15 minutes late. They insisted on charging us $57 each and refused to see us both, only one person while still charging the other person even though it wasn't our choice. I understand there is back to back scheduling, but the lack of understanding and forceful charges make this place feel like a glossy cover with shitty interiors. I've been on the lookout for a go-to nail salon after moving to Dallas; I came here for a gel manicure with Morgan, and she gave me one of the best manicures I've received in my life! MiniLuxe Uptown is located in a complex that has ample parking which is nice, and when you walk in it's immediately a luxurious experience. (Just don't confuse this location with the one in West Village/Highland Park; I made that mistake). I care a lot about going to nail salons that have top-notch sanitation practices (because a surprisingly large number of nail salons I've been to neglect that) and a relaxing ambiance, and MiniLuxe more than delivered on those fronts. Morgan herself was more than nice to talk to, and she did a PERFECT job with polish removal, shaping, cleaning up my cuticles, and nail art. If I have any critiques (and this is me being nitpicky), it's that the gel polish selection was a little bit limited. MiniLuxe is certainly more expensive than your run-of-the-mill nail salon for sure, but for top-notch sanitation practices (and the ease of mind that comes with that) and the quality of work, it is well worth it. I started using the uptown one because it's closer and the two times I've been here my nail polish has come off within a week. The performance polish I've gotten various times at the west village location has always lasted me weeks! I asked if they used the same polish and they said they do... I had to come back in a within a week and was told I was after the 5 day window (it was 7 days) ... why would there only be a 5 day window for something that's supposed to last a week.. Miniluxe uptown is the only place I go for my nails! I've tried a few other spots in DFW since moving here 4 years ago, but this is by far the winner. And let me tell you about Morgan Murphy!!! I request her every time because she does impeccable work (my oval shaped nails get compliments all the time) and the gel stays perfect for WEEKS with no peeling or chipping. The only reason they're getting even two stars is for customer service and cleanliness. All the nail techs are very nice and the place is spotless. However, I couldn't be more unhappy with the final result. Miniluxe is significantly more expensive than my usual place, but I wanted to give it a shot to kick off a girls weekend. The first time my nails came out looking decent but right after I went to run an errand had had already broken a nail - within two days three nails had broken. I've never had this issue before with gel manicures. I came back after the weekend to get the nails repaired/touched up free of charge (they have a 7-day policy which is nice), but one of the nails was broken beyond repair so it was just filed down a bit. The nail tech messed up on one nail and had to do it over again because the gel hadn't set correctly according to her, I guess it wasn't under the UV lamp long enough. She did a silk wrap on the other nail which came out looking squished and awful. Honestly I came out after the touch up looking worse than before. Weak and very fragile gel nails from this place. I cannot wait to go back to my regular nail salon to fix this botched job. This gel manicure was a complete waste of money. *Update: After I emailed them, the manager of this location contacted me to offer me a free service and a refund. I won't be going back, but I appreciate the good customer service and the refund. read more

I really like how sanitary they are! My technician was on the quiet side, but no biggie. This location is smaller, but it's cute and very sanitary (like the others). I went in for the quickie mani pedi which is supposed to be roughly 55 minutes and it actually took an hour and a half and after one day, my nails are already chipping. This salon chain is one of the more expensive salons in Dallas but operate with very few staff members. I called for a pedicure and was told it would be a few hours -all 3 locations Downtown. Wow (Uptown- highland park- west village) However, I decided if I could just get my gel removed that would be great -any salon can usually do this quick between nails drying etc. when staffed correctly NOT MINILUXE I was told it would be a couple hrs.... I would highly suggest staffing your salon with more than a few manicurist to run the level of stations each location appears to have. This location has the door open an limited guests inside. I'm a regular at MiniLuxe West Village and when I got the notification that they were opening one in uptown (right across from my Gym!) I raced over to check it out! For those not familiar with MiniLuxe, this is the place to GET POLISHED EVERYWHERE! They offer a variety of waxing, skin-care and nail services so it's a one-stop shop for anything you could need. They also offer wonderful little add-ons to waxing services, like cooling gel packs for your face, that you can get during your appointment. Prices for nails are pretty high, but I find the waxing to be reasonable, especially considering the fact that their estheticians are some of the best I've ever had (including some of the high priced salons I used to frequent in Newport Coast and LA). Eyebrow Wax 10/10 Seriously, I love the girls they have here and if you've let your brows grow out, you can bring in a photo of what type of brow shape you want and they'll give it to you! I also noticed that, unlike the West Village location, this one has a brow room. The benefit to the brow room is that they can still maintain their sanitation standards (changing linens and cleaning each room after a guest has been in) while seeing more customers. You sit in a really comfortable high back chair, get your brows done, and after a quick wipe down, they're ready for the next guest. I loved it, because I didn't have to wait!! Pedicure 6/10 I think I'll stick to West Village for my pedis. My appointment was a little late (they could only squeeze me in at 8:45, about 3.5 hours after my brow appointment) so I understand everyone was kinda tired and wanted to get out, but my pedi was incredibly rushed compared to West Village. The scrub was one up one down, I still have a couple callouses on my feet (since she didn't really spend any time sanding anything down) and the massage that is usually included in the pedi didn't happen at all (she slapped some lotion on, but didn't really rub it in, I left with pretty greasy legs). The water was also freezing when I first put my feet in. I love scaldingly hot water, but it wasn't even warm, and she asked if I wanted it colder! We put super hot water in, but that took it from frigid to luke skywalker, so it was just emptied out and new water put in. Maybe if it's not late and they're not as rushed it'll be better, but so far it was very "meh". Manicure --- I haven't gone in for a gel yet, but I plan to later this week, so stay posted for an update to this review. Customer Service 10/10 Despite the frigid pedi, their customer service was still on-point and with a smile. I was given a mimosa right when I stepped in and was cared for well by the staff. This place is beautiful but not worth the hype. I am brand new to the Dallas area and am on the hunt for a great nail salon. I went to give this one a try. While the space is gorgeous and super trendy, the actual service itself wasn't all that great. They offered complimentary beverages and my technician continually asked me if everything was okay without letting me relax. It wasn't genuine, but more robotic. I asked her to cut my nails short, but she completely cut them off. They were so short and actually hurt. My gel polish chipped after one week. I spent an arm and a leg on a mani/pedi but sadly to say it's just a beautiful space with average service. read more

You guys are wild man. I don't know how anyone could ever rate this place more than 3 stars. They are insanely overpriced and they have the weakest hands in the nail game. I got a pedicure with my girlfriend and it was $160 for two twenty minute pedicures and one manicure and it was the most boring pedicure I've ever gotten. Absolutely insane. No massage chairs. No jet baths. No drinks. Absolutely minimalist offerings. We normally go to the hole in the wall nail salons and we will continue to do so. Love the storefront, nice staff, trendy yet comfortable environment. Since I was there for an interview (as an esthetician) I can't speak to the services but they definitely look professional and like they give good service. The stations are clean and orderly, they seemed to work well together in teams if anyone wants to get both pedicure and manicure at the same time. If it were another occasion I'd have been in one of those comfy looking pedicure chairs for sure. They also offer nail treatments & colors which are beautifully displayed in the waiting area. For a behind the scenes bit of information everything is sterilized so thoroughly & completely that I was more than happy to give, receive or refer this place for service. I'll most definitely be coming back in the next few weeks... Who knows they may get a 5 star upgrade on my next adventure there. read more
