Man have I been missing out! I've been waxing for about 6 years now and usually go to EWC. But moved from CA recently, stopped and decided to check out this spot as I've heard great things about it and they were running a promo! WOW what an experience. From checking in, to talking about the procedure, to customer service, parking, location, professionalism, value and results! My waxer was Destiny (who told be she usually works at the Addison location) was so friendly, helpful, professional, and just all the wonderful things. The experience was seamless and everything they use is natural!! From the sugar wax to the witch hazel and tea tree oil they use after! Will say, hurt a little more than hard wax but results and experience are worth it. Such a great central location to Dallas. More than enough prime parking right in front. I've had 4 or 5 spray tans by S&B and only one has been great. If I could describe this business in one word it would be - inconsistent. You never know what you're going to get regarding the quality, friendliness, and overall level of service. During my spray tan today, the employee mentioned they had me down for "level 2" but didn't take the time to explain what levels and undertones their colors were. She said this was the color I had last time so I assumed it was right. Within a few minutes into the spray tan, I noticed it wasn't the right color and was VERY light. I mentioned this and she indicated the "level 2" was a light to medium shade - this was not what I wanted. She kept spraying me with the 2 and I explained I typically went for a medium shade with an orange-y undertone. The employee/trainee persisted that level 2 is what was in my notes and what I agreed to. This is a false claim as none of the colors or undertones were ever explained to me by her and she suggested the level 2. She continued to say that I chose this color and wanted to argue about it while I'm standing there, fully undressed, and in a very vulnerable state. I really didn't like that and is the part that I'm most upset about. I understand mistakes happen, but the old saying "the customer is always right" should be explained to this S&B employee. Arguing with a customer is never okay, especially when they are fully naked getting a service from you. After getting another employee involved, who also had to see me in the nude, they finally agreed to give me the color I wanted and spray it on top. I am doubtful that it will look good and was told I need to wash it off within three hours versus the normal eight hours. This experience was over the top bad and really makes me never wanna come back to Sugar & Bronze and specifically their Oak Lawn location. Consumer beware! read more

Unfortunately, I had a pretty bad experience with my first sugaring appointment here. Got a full Brazilian. I don't know if it was the tech or the sugaring (I had only waxed previously), but it was awful. The appointment took twice as long as any wax I've had before. Full disclosure: I had trimmed up some areas a couple days before, but all of them were 1/8 inch and longer per guidelines. Most were at least 1/2 inch. I was left red, raw and in pain after my appointment through the next day, especially in the most sensitive area down there, because the tech stripped that area more than once. I have ingrown hairs that popped up the following day and the session caused my HS to flare up. I can tell that spots along my bikini line weren't stripped at the root and there were hairs left that were plenty long enough that should've been removed with ease. Have never experienced this with a wax. I would've been better off shaving. It's a mess down there. Again, I can't say if it was the tech or the sugaring. Regardless, I'm disappointed. They offer competitive prices that include gratuity, which is great, and the place is clean. I like that they apply tea tree oil and witch hazel at the end of the appointment. read more

My first appointment was the first experience I'd had with sugaring (even waxing) and had a great experience - I've expanded to their tanning now as well and still great feedback. The employees here are extremely friendly, and are always asking questions or chatting further to understand specific situations and concerns. I appreciate that everyone who works here is open and caring. I always feel comfortable talking through concerns, or even feel addressed or considered when making small comments about problem areas. Update: I have since gotten a message from management. It's nice that they were caring enough to make sure that my tan was done correctly, and that I used to correct formula and/or care process. They refunded me and provided a new opportunity to try them again. I am hopeful it was just a one off experience. Thank you so much for the care of your customers. When I say that this was the worst spray tan I've gotten in my life........ I am not sure what this solution is trying to accomplish. Firstly, I was shocked when I finished the tanning session and looked like the tin man and hulk mixed together. The tech assured me that this would go away with the first wash. I am olive complected with a red undertone face due to rosacea. I have been getting spray tans for 15 years and have never had this experience. I am not sure if I could actually blame the tech, I think the solution is horrible and their facilities they supply her are bad too. The bottom of my feet are orange even after her wiping them off. My hands are white in the webs. After washing off WITH SOAP my neck and armpits is still green. This solution is horrible for my skin tone, I look like Donald Trump in his first election... There also isn't a drying process. They don't give you any powder, they have you stand there with a hose to dry yourself off. I was so sticky when I left. For a $80+ tan after their "added 18% gratuity" is appalling. I would not go back and definitely would not recommend to a friend. read more

Ladies, it's true: Brazilian sugaring is less painful and safer for your skin than waxing! I highly recommend trying S+B. I have been a member and patron of Oak Lawn Sugared + Bronzed for about 7/8 months and I love it! The ladies do a great job managing coarse hair and since I have found a specialist to go to consistently, the hair (especially underarm) stays away almost the entire month. For newbies: The facility is pristine and the prices are reasonable. Gratuity is already included in your monthly membership which makes it easy to budget. You can also cancel/pause the membership as you need to. Notably, the customer service is consistently great. All of the ladies working in-office are pleasant and respectful when dealing with challenging hair. The last thing about S+B that keeps me coming back is the availability. I don't know how they manage to do this operationally, but I am able to make last minute/same day appointments all the time and add services without issue. I've had a very different experience with all of the above at other Sugaring and waxing salons so I'm happy to see more locations opening around the country. I just got a spray tan today. The tan went away as soon as I stepped out of the cold-watered shower. I took the shower 9 hours after the appointment and it is ALL gone. I paid 70 dollars for nothing and I am really HATING it.
