This is easily one of the best smelling shops I've ever entered. The minute I opened the door the great scent just drew me into the shop. Upon entering there were candles, candles and more candles. I never realized there were so many candle makers. After making a couple of stops into the shop I decided I was finally going to make a purchase. As fate would have it I could not decide between two different scented candles. The staff was very helpful in answering questions (I'm a novice when it comes to candles). I asked what felt like a 1001 and questions the staff remained super friendly and extremely patient. And as importantly, they are not the pushy, sales-person type. As I debated my purchase, not once did I feel I was being pushed one way or the other. Needless to say, I couldn't decide between the two so I bought them both. This is just what I need; another interest to explore. Lol! In addition to candles I remember seeing scented oils and incense. There are other decorating items in the shop. Unfortunately I have not checked them out as I always get stuck smelling the candles. One final note to make that speaks volumes of Society and their customer service; a friend who was with me also bought a candle. At another stop she sat the bag on a table. Someone accidentally bumped the table causing the bag to fall onto the floor. Yes, you guessed correctly, it resulted in a broken candle. We stopped back by Society and explained what happened and without question they replaced it; no additional charge. How is that for service? If you're looking for a unique gift for someone, I highly recommend you 'check-in' to Society.

There's a few things I'm a sucker for... and this my friends is one of the coolest Candle Meccas I've stumbled upon... Step thru their front doors and you're transported into a quaint, dimly lit candle "pharmacy". Thoughtfully displayed candles and small gifts await. With the sexy cologne scented goods of Acquisse being my go to fav, was turned on to a few new brands and had fun shopping! Looking for a great hostess gift, a surprise for a friend or a lil somethin' somethin' for yourself? Why, step right in!

Absolutely terrifying, we were watching a movie and the candles flame got out of control. We couldn't even put the flame out. Extremely dangerous we needed to use a fire extinguisher. Thank goodness we were able to put the fire out. Could have burned our house down. Moral of the story please don't buy these candles.

It's fitting that an area with such a high volume of gourmet food would be home to such a 'gourmet' candle/interiors/gift shop. This isn't a spot to pick up a handful of unscented votives or a perfunctory hostess staple, no sir. Herbally and florally perfumed candles rest under glass domes - allowing you to steal a whiff of each flavor individually by simply lifting the covering (and simultaneously keeping other scents from overloading your olfactory). Unique decor adorns the walls and shelves amidst the 'middle of the woods' motif, and there's no escaping the personalized service since you'd be hard pressed to fit more than a half dozen people in the store at a single time. As with all artisanal goods (and namely in this area), you can expect to pay a bit of a premium.

They wrap your gifts for you as well!! Great for quick birthday gifts - this is for my boss

The candle scents here are so incredible! The shop is quaint, but perfect. Such a cool place to get amazing smelling candles.

I always try to shop small businesses, but I don't normally come across ones that will make exceptions to their no return policy. Kudos to this business! The item was beautiful and hand-beaded so the quality this store offers was never an issue. I still have an issue with being followed around and being watched like a hawk the entire time I was there. I bought a cape and some shirts and when I got home and tried the items on the chemicals from the factory they were made in caused an allergic reaction (nose running, watery eyes, throat closing up) and my mom had the same reaction as well. The cape did not have a tag that states the materials of the fabric or the country where it was made. It's as if they removed it. When I went to return the items the staff got really worked up and emotional about it and they sent a manager to talk to me and I think she was just told to tell me she wasn't going to refund my items no matter what. (I had receipts, all price tags were attached, and it was within a week of purchase.) I told her I had a reaction to the clothes and she said she wasn't going to question if my reaction was real or not but no one has ever had any problems with their clothes before. Then she asked me "What's the REAL reason you want to return these items???" I said, "They made me sick?!?!" That seems like a reasonable reason to return something. I also told her that if they don't allow returns they should tell people before they buy things. She said I would have known if I would have reviewed the bottom of the receipt. I asked her how seeing the policy on the receipt would have helped me know not to buy the item since you don't get a receipt until after you buy the item. How would that change anything? She goes, "Well, it wouldn't. It' wouldn't matter because you would have already bought it and all sales are final." I asked, "If I asked for a return immediately after being given the receipt and seeing the fine print on the bottom would I have been able to get a refund?" She said no and realized what she was saying did not make any sense. Then said they aren't required to have the policy posted anywhere in the store. I informed her that they absolutely are. By law. Then she said other shops around here don't allow returns and don't have signs posted. I said, "Well that is illegal." She said she didn't know anything about that and wasn't going to look into it. Eventually they agreed to give me store credit and they said the owner would call me and let me know if they decided to refund my money or not but it's been several weeks and I haven't gotten a call. No surprise there. After this experience I never want to buy anything from this store or their other stores (Houss on Bishop and Home on Bishop). **UPDATE** a few days ago I saw the EXACT same cape I purchased from their store for $170 (the item that did not have a factory tag) on amazon for $45. BEWARE OF THIS STORE!!!
