Friendly and helpful staff. Walked here from having lunch nearby. They have a wide variety of natural soaps, bath bombs, beard care, essential oils, etc. Made in Dallas, TX. The minty smells were wafting through the air and lured us in. Large round soaps were only $5. Will be back!

Before. Always swollen and cracked

I usually have at least three going around my home so I consider myself a wee bit of an expert. My husband calls me candle obsessed, not that he minds. Love, love, love this spot! If you are a candle junkie like me, this is nirvana. They sell things other than candles, too - incense, sage, matches. I love both locations equally, (there is one in Preston Center, too)! Both have a strong apothecary vibe that I dig. Candles are pricey, but the quality and scent intensity make it so worth it! Every time I stop in the service is friendly, helpful and efficient. My favorite candles from there are: -Any of the Texas Collection, but the Fort Worth is my hands-down favorite (think leather meets flowers, it just works) -Jackson Vaughn Peony - the perfect feminine floral scent -Any Kobo chandle My to-try list are the blackbird incense and the proprietary collection. Every time I try for the Blackbird Incense they are sold out, so that says something on its own. Do yourself a favor and swing by, you won't regret it!

This is not a large shop and it was a little tight navigating around the space. The candles smelled very good. The service was good. We had a question for what appeared to be a pack of matches. But, we were enlightened to find out that they were actually incense, so when you lit the match it provided scent in the room. I thought the cost was on the higher side. But, when you are in a small business, you are paying for the artists services. The decor was artsy and mystic. I would definitely go back and check out new candles and their scents.

If you are looking for a fun and unique gift Urban Owl is the place for you!…read more This amazing local store is located in the Bishops Arts and has anything and everything you can imagine! I love that the store is curated in different sections from the gifts for dad, to gifts for pet parents, kid's stuff, etc. Frankly this is one of those store you can walk five or ten times and I am sure every time you will see something new and unique. During my visit, I did purchase some cute stuff to bring back home to my family as souvenirs. However, they only reason why I am not giving them a full five stars is because I do think they are on the pricier side. I've seen some of the stuff they carry at other stores and they weren't as expensive as it was here (maybe it's a Dallas thing, I don't know). Regardless, I would still come back to this store for a fun and unique gift for a friend or family!

Small cool shop for gifts…read more I got a few things from here after a recent trip to Dallas. I was initially looking for Dallas branded specific items which they didn't necessarily have but they had some other neat stuff which I found amusing. I ended up getting a pair of funny socks and some cool magnetic bookmarks. The most amazing part aside from the great friendly staff is the incredible complimentary gift wrapping of your items. I was really impressed with the amount of attention and care given to the wrapping of my gift. Really thoughtful and no way I could have done better.

Their selection feels very curated and has a beautiful vibe. The store is rather quiet and there is plenty of room to walk around. Staff is not pushy and mostly doesn't circulate on the floor, which I appreciate. It takes the pressure off browsing! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful if you need anything and will have genuine conversations with you during check out! The only downside, is this store is located in the Bishop Arts area where parking is scarce. I'd recommend coming during a weekday, if you're able, as parking is more manageable! Once parked, this area is bustling with lots of other cute shops as well!

So, is it called 1976 because many believe it is the most consequential year in the history of modern China? (It's Chinese-American owned). Or is the birth year of one of the Law family siblings? I'd guess it's bridging old school 1976 analog craftsmanship with the digital revolution-led letterpress and screen printing, since the store is the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and modern design, with a fully operational letterpress studio (they produce their own stationery), housing vintage, antique printing presses. They also curate independent art and host hands-on workshops. So, the name We Are 1976 suggests a collective identity rooted in a specific era, and their tagline "our dear assembly" is likely their way of saying, "This is the group of people, machines, and beautiful objects we have gathered together." Honestly, I just went in looking for a bathroom. They are 1976 but I was #2.
