To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. I really hope this was an "off" day and this is not something that occurs constantly. I am such a big fan of Jake and recently listened to a podcast in where she talks about striving to provide the best customer experience. Her team failed to live up to that promise. I think it may have been a lack of communication issue. I really do hope that's all it was. I scheduled a make up appointment the day of. I called the location and confirmed date and time. I live an hour away and was looking forward to being glammed up at The Body Labb with a MUA I had heard/seen so many great things about. I arrive to my appointment right on time. I had called ahead to advise them I would be maybe 3 minutes late and the young lady who answered the phone was so polite and said to not worry about it. So there was notification of me still planning on arriving to said appointment. No one greets me and the MUA I booked with had someone in the chair. I assumed maybe that appointment was late and it was about to finish up. I don't know anything about make up so I could not determine if it was half way in or almost done. After 35 minutes of waiting I finally said I was such time appointment and asked the MUA if i had some time to run to the store to grab something to drink. The MUA states yes. I go and purchase the drink only to come back and have the MUA tell me they are feeling ill and cannot take care of me. This is 45 minutes after my scheduled time. The person offered to have the other MUA work on me but that person had a few people there. I felt like if I accepted I would be an inconvenience and I would also be pushing my upcoming plans even more behind. My original person apologized and offered a discount for the next time I book and was very polite. I would've really appreciated a phone call to cancel the appointment if the person was feeling ill. I was there for 50 minutes total with no idea that my appointment would not take place. I could've tried getting in somewhere else. I declined the offer of the other MUA taking care of me because at that point I felt that i would be pushing my plans back even more. When I called to advise them on the probability of being late, I would've appreciated them to tell me that the appointment was canceled due to illness. I would've been understanding of that even if I was already close by. Maybe the MUA didn't relay the message of leaving for the day to the young lady who answered the phone. I hope this never happens to anyone else and this simply was an off day. read more

I have been to The Body Labb a few times now and I absolutely love this place! I go to Keeks for my brows and she has been helping me grow them for months now. My brows have never looked this good! I recently made an appointment with Jamie who's the new body waxer and it was my first time getting a Brazilian wax so I was a little nervous. Jamie made me feel comfortable the whole time and walked me through everything she was doing. I've been with Manuel a few times now for makeup and his work amazes me every time! I went in a few months ago to do a bridal trial for my wedding day. Victor is absolutely AMAZING! It is so hard to find someone with a bright personality with a passion for what they do and be stunning at it! I highly recommend him to anyone!! You will not be disappointed. This was my first time at the body labb and I really should have thought twice. The atmosphere is not at all professional and makeup application was with fingers or hands. I just stuck with it but 5 mins into the session I should have left. The makeup was way too heavy, even after I asked for a natural look. The application was inconsistent and the product caused my face to itch. In addition the lashes were "huge" and didn't fit what I wanted at all. I will not visit this place again. If you want heavy coverage and don't mind the lack of professionalism this place is for you. Otherwise I'd suggest finding a different studio. I really wish I could give this more than one star but I can't. read more

After following MakeupByManuelTX on Instagram and knowing I had a wedding I was a bridesmaid in coming up, I excitedly booked Juan online to do my makeup for the wedding day. As the date approaches, I saw a post online on his Instagram stating he was going out of town. Mind you this was around midnight 24 hours before the wedding. No one called to tell me this, had I not been following him on Instagram I would have just showed up to an appointment that no one was going to be at. The drive to this location is at least 45 minutes from my house and would have put me in a really horrible situation the day of a wedding I was supposed to be in. I'm sorry but the lack of professionalism is unacceptable and I would never book here again. read more
