Love this mini museum wall with things like dinosaur poop for children to see. So thoughtful that they placed them at eye level for kids!

TLDR: This is a MUST do!!! Buy tix and make reservation online, or call in. I wish I could give the Dinosaur Company 10 stars because that's what they deserve! A local friend recommended it to me after seeing my posts on our visit to the Heard Museum. We used to live in Texas but moved out of state a few years ago and decided to come back for a visit. I found out this place opened up for tours in 2021, so it made me feel better knowing that I didn't miss out when I was here! This place is just as much fun for adults as kids, maybe more?? It's located in Allen and close to the 75 in a warehouse/business district. You can't miss it because the building has giant dinosaurs all over the outside, which got me excited as we were pulling up! My 4-year-old loves dinos, but seeing dinosaurs move is next level! There was plenty of parking on a Friday afternoon. I originally booked our tour reservation for 1 pm and called in to reschedule because we were running late from a passport application appointment. Lauren Billings, one of the owners, was so nice to reschedule us for a couple of hours later and she was also our tour guide! When we arrived, we were greeted by Lily, who was so sweet to show us around while we waited for our tour (we showed up early), take pictures for us, and tell our son all about their built-in display cases on the wall (preserved dinosaur poop!). They had a couple of dinosaurs in the lobby dressed up for Halloween and they were also getting ready for some birthday parties. Make sure to look up while in the lobby because there are dinosaurs placed overhead! The gift shop is so fun and carried a bunch of toys and books I hadn't seen before. The inventory they have is actually quality, as opposed to just junk that will end up in a pile. CeCe the Dinosaur is the star of the show (in the lobby)! Before you enter, there's an animatronic dinosaur, I think it was CeCe as ell, and you can push buttons and make it move yourself. We had our own little private tour probably because we changed our original tour time, so it was just Lauren, my husband and I, and are 4-year-old. We were told to walk between certain lines as it's a working dinosaur factory. The tour is informal, and it was more a conversation peppered with our random questions, Hobie for some reason knowing which ones he could sit on and which ones he couldn't, and us getting to see some being worked on in the back. There were also giant insects, including spiders, ants and butterflies. The dinosaurs are built to scale (from what is known of them), and the colors are vibrant, the movements are so real, and they even have sounds. There's also a sensory table with teeth, feathers, and other things that kids can touch and explore. Their dinosaurs end up all over the nation and the world! We had SO. MUCH. FUN. I really could have stayed there for a lot longer. We perused the gift shop and thank goodness I had to limit what we bought to what we could put in the suitcase, because I really wanted to buy ALL. THE. DINOSAURS! We ended up with a couple of books, a magnet bc that's how we remember all our trips, and we got a little free dinosaur 3D printed toy as a souvenir. I've read reviews that it's hot in there. It was about 85 degrees the day we went, but the warehouse was comfortable. I wish I could have my birthday party there. That would be such an experience. Thank you so much to the Dinosaur Factory family for being so welcoming and accommodating. I've already told ALL my friends about this place, so I know they will definitely have some little visitors in the future!

Great exhibition of exotic animals. $5.00 per adult. Doing the week schools, senior center have tours. Worth every penny, our 7 years old granddaughter love it! The gentleman attending is super friendly and helpful.

Wonderful tour guides! The 30 minute tour is PERFECT for young kids. Our 3 year old had a blast. The hour tour would be great for older children (think 10 and up).

Waiting room. This would be the Instagram spot.

What a super fun tour. I took my 7 year old with me as an excuse to check out life sized animatronic dinosaurs and boy they did not disappoint. In theory we were going to make a T-Rex tooth for the first 1.5 hrs and then do the tour. In practice what we ended up doing was casting the tooth and then headed off on the tour while the teeth soldified. Our group only had me and my daughter so that is probably why we were able to make efficient use of the time. The back are where they keep the dinos is about as awesome as you'd expect. They had set up a holiday theme with many decorated dinosaurs. We met an animated santasaurus, a few T-Rexes sporting copious bling (lights) and there was candy to keep the hungry seven year old beast fed. Many photo opportunities were provided. Some of the dinos were climbable which if you know kids, they love to climb on stuff so kudos to you Dinosaur company for planning for these moments. Once we were done with the tour back to the tooth making we went. I did not participate, only my daughter did. She had fun. We got an extra tooth for me from the giftshop and then off we went with some good memories of a fun time. Shout out to our hosts Lauren and Thomas (sorry if I misspelled your names). We look forward to making a return visit with friends next time.

A unique tour of the facility that make animatronic dinosaurs a d bugs for customers around the world. Our tour guide Michael did an excellent job of explaining the process and was especially knowledgeable about dinosaurs in general. A great tour that only takes about an hour of your time.

Took my grandkids 18 month's and 3 years. They both had a great time. Tour guide knowledgeable, informative, and patient. Great experience. Kiddos enjoyed.

My tour was awesome! I can't remember my guides name but she was very patient with me and my dinosaur loving 7 year old autistic son. Definitely worth the trip. I wish I remembered her name! She was great?

We had an amazing time on this tour! My kids are ages 6, 6, and 11 (boy and girls) and they all loved it, as did I! We took the full animatronic tour and thought it was so cool! The tour guide was knowledgeable about all of the creatures. Definitely recommend!

My grandson has not stopped talking about seeing the big dinosaurs...

How to describe Food Walks of Texas? Fun! I was skeptical at first but, given as a birthday gift, I…read morerolled with it. Three of us met Tall Paul, the owner and tour guide on the square in McKinney Texas. When thinking about starting the business,he and his wife attended a school in Chicago on the subject. Evidently, Chicago is known for food tours. Basically, over a 5 hour period(it was supposed to be 31/2) Paul walked us around old downtown McKinney enlightening us on the history of this lovely North Texas Town and stopping in for small bites and drinks. Our first stop at 11 am on Sunday was an Irish pub! I have to think back a long time to remember when I may have been drinking beer at 11 am on Sunday! I bet 100 years ago people of McKinney would have been up in arms over beer drinking any time on Sunday, especially before church! This is the type of thing that Food Walk and Paul made fun to think about. Our tour wrapped up at a great place with oysters and some lovely mixology drinks. I think if you are open-minded and can roll with it, this may be something different that would expand your horizons. I say, Go!!!

Tall Paul was our guide and did a phenomenal tour. The restaurants, bars, eateries he took us to…read morewere well chosen. It's been over a year since our tour and I'm STILL thinking about those raw oysters with the complementary craft cocktail. Chef's kiss

Degolyer House - Degolyer House inside the Arboretum Dallas

Degolyer House

Degolyer House This…read more1940 house inside the beautiful Dallas Arboretum is great stopover on any day, especially on a hot day when the temperature outside is 110F! We were exhausted at the sheer heat when this very friendly 'free golf cart in the park' driver came by and offered to show us around. We were just too happy to hop on. One of the stops he took us to was the house, and he told us to ring the bell and someone would open. We did just that though we were not really sure if someone would be in at 2 on this hottt afternoon on a weekday, but it was opened by the most cheerful lady I have ever met. They had pamphlets, guest books guides everything ready. Fun fact- its free! Another fun fact- this was the First building to get full air conditioning facility in the 1940, in all of southeast America!!!! So yes, its a Must Visit. The place actually has a cafe / restaurant attached to it, which is, in fact, the extended patio of the house, and I am given to understand that its popular too, but it was closed today. They do give this out for party renting. A little history- the Golyers got this built as their retirement house, probably thats the reason there are no upstairs. The pictures of the family is all over the house. Interestingly, there is also an invite to the late President Kennedy's lunch for Mrs. Golyer, which, never happened because he was assassinated on the way to this very lunch! The library looks exotic with 15000 books, and as of now there is a photo exhibition going on with the artist on the floor. Some really touching pictures with soulful stories to it, they can be purchased if you have $1500 minimum in your pocket. I have to mention that the ladies there were absolutely charming and helpful. They literally walk with you and point out interesting stuff around the house. The architecture is Spanish inspired and very cool. A Must Visit.
