Food was awful, I wanted crab legs, so stopped in. Crab legs were loaded down with too much spicy seasoning, along with the red potatoes and corn. Crab legs were over cooked and very dark color, may have been old. Our table was covered in nats, even the roll of paper towels had nats and my seat. Food is really good, ordered the seafood boil, it wasn't anything fresh from the sea of course but it definitely wasn't overcooked or anything and the ambience is pretty laid-back. It's a fish camp! I like fish camps. It's is acceptable practice to hold your filet in your hand while you eat. One of the things I judge fish camps on is the tartar sauce. I'd give it a 3 outa 5. Too much vinegar for my taste. Frisches has the best IMO. Service has always been excellent even when the server was so pregnant we thought she might deliver more than our meal. We've only been there twice though it is about a mile from the house. We just don't eat that much fish. So, we were basically strangers when we went. What a great place, we strolled in here on a Sunday around 2:30 and missed the church crowd. We sat outside cause it was a great day. We order the everything platter i guess, came with just about everything you would like to eat. Fried fish, hush puppies, bbq chicken, pulled pork, Mac and cheese, potatoes salad and a salad if that wasn't enough! Everything on the plate was delicious! BBQ sauce was great, not sure if they make their own ranch but it's killer. Owner Nate and our server, Amber, both were extremely friendly and helpful. A little rough looking but worth it. Food is always cooked well and tastes great. The only things I can be negative about are that it's kinda small and always crowded and the coleslaw is bland. Neither are a big deal but that is the negatives. It's priced around the same as other fish camps. I they do a great job with the food and their frog legs are very good and you can't get them everywhere. The service has always been average or above. I would consider this a hidden gem and you should try it if you like seafood. read more

Reasonable prices, great staff that worked pretty efficiently as it was a full house on Friday night.... Hole in the wall..... you know what that means.... amazing seafood in large quantities. It's a plywood tiny spot that you'll need to either get there early or wait a while to be seated. They have inside and outside seating. Very limited. Maybe 10 tables inside and 5 tables outside. So if you have kids, like we do, we go early. Or we order take out. Salt and pepper calabash shrimp and flounder are like eating in Calabash. Not greasy like other local fish camps. Hush puppies are excellent and tartar sauce is fabulous. It's a fried seafood place. They even have frog legs. Never tried them, just see them on the sign. It's not a quick spot but it's a good one. Just take something to keep the kids occupied while you wait on food. A friend & I ate here recently & it sure isn't the same as it used to be! Different owners, menu, no Sr options & way higher priced! Also the food (BBQ platter $40) was way over seasoned with pepper & salt. The good thing was that it could feed 2 & then some. They do serve frog legs which you seldom see. This used to be our favorite seafood restaurant in our area.....tonight it's the worst experience we have had just about anywhere. People have been complaining almost all night. We should have left. We have been told repeatedly that our order is coming out next...table after table that arrived after us has been served....now they come out and tell us they are out of two things we ordered...then we are told there are still 4 orders ahead of us....unf'ing believable!!! There are so many negatives to this place that it's hard to know where to begin! First off, the manager (or possibly the owner) is unbelievably rude. Her attitude is so off putting that I can't believe we gave the restaurant a second chance but we did. The service is slow, rude and negligible. After moving to the area and hearing all the locals rave over this place my husband and I along with our two kids decided to try it out and I was so overly disappointed with the entire experience! First off it's basically a large shed with ply wood was inside and Christmas lights strung as decorations. Then I quickly realized that are not at all fond of children (even though my kids sit quietly and behave at restaurants) which was not a welcoming feeling. We opened our menus to find that EVERYTHING is fried but decided to order anyway. Presentation was as horrible as the culinary skill and we were not impressed at all. Food wasn't horrible but nothing to rave over. The cole slaw was bland and tasted pepper, fries were disgusting and the fried shrimp could've been pre made from a box ! Our bill for the four of us was over $120 and did not warrant the meal. Also, the waitresses there are nasty, rude and act as if customers are an inconvenience. Drove from out of state with my girlfriend to eat here because the seafood options in my area are limited. The customer service was horrendous! The inside was packed so we went to the outside covered area expecting faster service. 35 minutes later 3 tables were open all covered in the previous party's trash. A regular who stated he had known the owner for 20 years approached me and said he would help me clean off a table so we could have a seat. At this point the waitress flipped out. Said she would be in trouble if her manager saw us cleaning off the table and we should stop. He told her we had been waiting for 40 minutes and needed a seat and this was ridiculous. We proceeded to clean the table off anyways and took our seat. A party of 3 walked up and was seated immediately. Their drink order was taken and they received their drinks before we had any interaction with the waitress other than cleaning off our table. Needless to say, we got up and left. Glad I've never spent a dime at this establishment and will never do so. read more

Would give less than one star if it was possible! Went to Palmetto Seafood tonight to get carry out for Mothers Day. Called in order. Got there and they didn't take credit cards. (They could have told me this) Got food and upon arriving at home found cold French fries, two small pieces of fish on each plate. 1 tiny container of slaw to share (I guess 1/2 tsp each?) The fish was wafer thin with bones. The hush puppies were burnt and harder than a rock. There was one package of ketchup in one box and a small container of tomato sauce with the slaw tossed in the top of the bag. I thought it was marinara for the onion rings I purchased but I now assume they ran out of ketchup and put some in a container for us??? Not sure though as it tasted like tomato sauce. There was also something that looked like coal in with the hush puppies. It may have been a very overcooked hush puppy???? I live in Clover and this was to be a big treat for me as I had really been wanting fish. So very disappointed! Don't waste your time or money. Btw/ I have never written a bad review before and I really try to support local businesses. read more
