Palmen is definitely a gem located inside of Grand Hotel Oslo. It is beautiful in every way you can imagine, and definitely the perfect spot for special occasions!
As a part of the Grand Hotel, Palmen is quite expensive. Personally I enjoy it a lot, but I cannot afford it on a regular basis.
The staff is super professional, friendly and knowledgable. The Nordic menu on the other hand is a little bit unconventional and might not be for everyone. Personally I loved the food when I visited. Our table shared a few starters and each of us got our own fish dish and desert! Unfortunately this review is a little delayed so I can't remember the name of any of the dishes (but it was amazing non the less).
Although I am totally wowed by Palmen it somewhat feels impersonal and cold. It might be all the fancy people eating around me, or just knowing that Grand Hotel is Oslo's most prestige hotel, I felt out of place. Don't get me wrong, I will definitely be back at Palmen, because it is amazing, I just won't become a regular.
I still believe that most people will enjoy their time at Palmen, whit great service, wonderful food and a nice view! read more
