This might be the best looking burger that I've seen in years! Almost artistry. Check their men bc it is mostly burgers and little fish.

We came for…read morean early dinner around 4:15P on a Saturday and the restaurant was already mostly full inside. The setup includes tall tables, booths, a few seats at the bar and several patio tables outside, though it was unfortunately raining during our visit. The host initially seated the four of us at the bar, which was tight, but at least it had a nice view into the kitchen! Once a booth opened up, he offered to move us and we were much more comfortable. The most popular menu item here is the fish and chips, but our waiter said he loves the cod croquettes and that was all it took to convince me since you don't see those on just any menu. + COD CROQUETTES: Five crispy golden croquettes were fried to perfection with a rich creamy cod filling. They were served atop a bold red pepper purée, drizzled with a savory aioli and finished with shredded cheese. The red pepper sauce added a fantastic warmth that really elevated the dish, and the portion size was just right. + CUCUMBER SALAD: A large portion of sliced cucumbers (and another crunchy veggie I couldn't identify) was tossed in a sesame oil dressing. This was so refreshing and crisp, cutting through the richness of the croquettes. We easily split it between the four of us. The only other veggie option was green salad. My sister got the ceviche, which is a lighter entrée. She liked the fish, but said it was extremely citrusy, more than she expected. There were also some tough corn-like pieces which she put to the side since they were too difficult to chew. Service throughout our meal was warm and attentive; our waiter regularly checked on us and even brought an extra bottle of water when he noticed ours running low. Overall, I loved my croquettes, the salad was delicious, and the staff's hospitality made this a memorable final dinner in Oslo!

This is usually a clear sign that something is amiss. We were seated in a long table section and our menu had been pre-ordered ahead of time. We could either order the salmon or the game stew. The meal included a beer or wine as well. When one person in our group asked for a simple cup of hot water, the server flatly refused and said it wasn't part of the agreed upon menu. Another person asked if she could change her dessert because she was a diabetic. Again, we got a complete refusal to be accommodating. The food was decent, but nothing worth putting up with cold, unhelpful, and indifferent service for. I can see why the locals don't eat here.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by a nice young lady and asked her for a table for 5. She said, hold on and that she would be right back. He looks at me, no greeting, no smile, and then with this look and a roll of his head of what do you want, said, "yes?" I told him, the other female was already helping us. He then said, what do you want. I proceeded to tell him we were wanting a table for 5. He then said, we have no table when clearly there were tables open and no one else waiting. My husband then said, well she told us to wait. He replies with, "She is a nobody here. Just a waitress. She knows nothing. We cannot seat you." We travel to a foreign country only to be met with racism! Asian group walks in and automatically turns us away. Thankfully this was our only bad experience in Norway. Once seated several people came to assist us and it wasn't because of the language barrier each one of them spoke English fluently. We placed our order, got our food, ate it was full but not necessarily satisfied. There was one server she was pretty decent but the rest of the experience was mediocre. The only standout were the scallops, perfectly cooked and delicious. Look at the pictures because I really don't have the energy to discuss my average meal! Would I go back or suggest this restaurant? NOPE!

Coming from Seattle, another salmon capital, we had to try it out. We came for a late lunch around 2:00P and were seated immediately on the covered patio. The menu features hot and cold salmon dishes alongside a selection of sushi. Our waitress said that their most popular item is the Grilled Salmon, served with mashed potatoes and broccolini. + SALMON SUSHI PLATTER: This plate of 20 pieces contained salmon sashimi, salmon nigiri and spicy salmon maki. The fish was extremely fresh with a smooth buttery texture and a vibrant color. The sashimi was topped with black fish roe and spring onion while the nigiri had an ideal rice-to-fish ratio. I loved the salmon maki as well, although I wouldn't consider it spicy at all. Highly recommended! + SALMON TRILOGY: Cold-smoked, hot-smoked and cured salmon, each with an accompanying dipping sauce (I believe they were a creamy horseradish, mustard and crème fraîche). This was a fun dish to share, served with bread and butter that tasted great as-is or topped with the salmon. + GRILLED SALMON: Simply seasoned and flavored from the grill, this plate lets the natural quality of the salmon shine. The menu stated that it's cooked to medium unless otherwise requested, but to us, it seemed closer to medium-well. No complaints though; it was still moist and delicious! The sides of potatoes and broccolini were perfect pairings, making for a well-rounded meal. + SIDE OF BROCCOLINI: This isn't a menu item, but we requested six spears to add some extra greens and they only charged us a few dollars. The spears were crunchy and lightly salted. After our meal, we went inside to their educational center. Our guide started us off with a short video about Norway's salmon farming and then led us into their "control room" where he shared deeper insights. He was so knowledgeable about the industry! Here are some facts we learned: * Salmon get their pink color from the saltwater oceans since they eat krill, small crabs, etc. Freshwater salmon have white or pale flesh. * Norwegians believe fresh salmon must be enjoyed within 21 days and they will not freeze nor can it. Any canned salmon that you see in the country is canned elsewhere and then shipped back. * Norway exports salmon to 110 countries. They are raised in farms within the fjords! This was one of my favorite meals in Norway for the spectacular food, fantastic service and new learnings!

This was a more casual outpost of their regular restaurant across the way. The menu was smaller so no salmon soup for example but we did get the grilled salmon. The serving was a decent size and the bed of mashed potatoes was very good (lots of butter)! Service was lightning fast. Prices were reasonable for Norway ( which means expensive compared to most other places).
