**FOOD: WOW Amazingly decadent Food, in terms of food this is our Favourite meal on our vacation. A gem that not many know about. the food here is superb, rivaling even some of those michelin starred restaurants. Fresh and ever changing menu items with the season. We happen to come on the first day of their spring menu. WOW. the nouveau contemporary Presentation was so beautiful, it was a shame to eat it (did take pictures though). When you do taste it, some bites had a different layer or surprise. It was an fabulous experience.
Creme Brulee is a MUST. I love creme brulee and usually order it whenever i see it on the menu but THIS CREME BRULEE is soooooo incredibly creamy and smooth and just so memorably delicious. I've never tasted creme brulee like this before. Later, we were told the chef actually won a culinary award for this dessert. YES, I can believe it.
**COST (out of 4$): $$$
**SERVICE: Courteous Professional Friendly wonderful service. Old world service. the wine recommended by the waiter was spot on. Just all around wonderful evening
**DECOR: Upscale Old World Inn style, harkens back to the 18th century. Loved the cosy feeling of the place. i believe this place is one of the oldest restaurants in Oslo.
**RECOMMEND: YES absolutely recommend. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.
**OUR MEAL: Had the Lamb / Mutton ball type appetizer croquette (so so delicious, the fried pork skin hmmmmm sinfully delicious haven't had that in a long long time), Veal (was so tender and cooked to perfection), Salmon was perfect with right crispiness on one side and the light broth was so so good, accompanying vegetables just so mouthwateringly delish, Halibut so delicate and delicious, taste was just wonderful. Wasn't overwhelmed with sauce or anything, the way the dish was prepared it let the fish shine on its own. Was so so good. Chocolate mousse (good), the CREME BRULEE was definitely a shining star and perfect end to a stunning meal.
From beginning to end this was a just an AMAZING MEAL. kudos and well deserving of 5 stars despite the fact they aren't michelin starred. Definitely 5 stars in my book! read more
