A must-eat!
We actually showed up hoping to get a table in the restaurant, but they were completely full. The hostess walked us downstairs to the new wine bar.
The menu for the wine bar was small, but we ordered four things, and they were all amazing (truffle grilled cheese, Norwegian cheese dish, spekolate, and dessert). The server was knowledgable in all of their wines. I took her recommendation on a red and ended up loving it.
The server brought the food out with the chef! The chef explained each of the meats and cheeses to us, going so far as to tell us where the goats lived (by the sea in a Norwegian farm run by Dutch people). My mother ordered apple juice and we were even told about the woman who pressed it. The chef and server were both happy to answer any of our questions and join us for a nice conversation.
This was a very intimate setting, like a warm dinner party at a friend's house. However, we were there somewhat early on a Tuesday, so perhaps the experience would be different at a more busy time.
Either way, definitely recommended! read more
