    Pizza with Prosciutto and Arugula

Tasty Italian in the heart of Oslo. It was a busy, rainy afternoon and the restaurant mentioned being under staffed but we waited 12 minutes and were seated. Fantastic waitress from Torino Italy. We ordered antipasto plate, pizza and pasta. Everything was tasty, fresh and high quality. We really enjoyed our experience.

Excellent lunch on the water in Oslo. Beverage menu with lots of choices for starters. Pastas, pizzas, and lots of other food options, with nice choice of starters. We tried a bit of everything including shrimp scampi, chicken Penni, and a pizza with a generous side of olives. H great atmosphere, excellent service, definitely a "must do" place here on the waterfront near the national museum!

Tasty food, great service and decent prices! I've been here two times and its a good place to visit. Most of the staff is Swedish which usually in Norway means higher service quality (note that I am biased as a Swede) ;-) Anyway, the pizzas are tasty but you might want to order something extra in case you are a hungry marathon runner. All my friends were satisfied after our visits so it depends on the size of your stomach. A good variety of pizzas to choose from, however not so many beer alternatives on tap. I had the pasta al manzo - meaning beef pasta - and I was informed its the most anti-hungry pasta dish in the restaurant. It is a tasty pasta - but I was still a bit hungry afterwards (again - I eat more than the average person). Luckily, a friends daughter couldn't finish her pasta and it was donated to the "feed-Johannes charity". Good location for people watching if you prefer that - we usually get the table in the back of the restaurant so we are probably not considered as eye candy to attract more guests ;-) Will visit again because of the service and the location, the food is tasty but there are plenty of good alternatives in Oslo to choose from so its not a "five-tasty-star-place".

This italian restaurant is located right on the boulevard central oslo. Great for people watching. What i liked: - despite arriving as 1 person for dinner at busy hours, i got a good table and service - food is ok, but prime selling point is the location

Great location, beautiful restaurant and great food all this elements made my experience in Olivia one of the best in Oslo. This restaurant is trendy, stylish and stunning, open kitchen concept with a heated patio. Illustrations on the walls set the Italian high end look. A restaurant to be and be seen. A look into Oslo cosmopolitan and trendy population. The food was fantastic we ordered pizzas, the service was one of the best I've had, personal and warm. This is a restaurant I'll come back.

    Outside Olivia

Centrally located on the water in Aker Brygge, Olivia really fit the bill for a late lunch treat. We started with the fritto misto di mare, which was described as fried shellfish and was basically fried calamari with some other fish as well, not sure what kind, served with a savory bike on aioli. I found the dish to be a tad on the bland side but still very delicious and light for a fried appetizer. My boyfriend and I both got the focaccia prosciutto cotto e pesto. Now as an Italian I have a strict definition of prosciutto and the plain ham served on this dish did not by any means fit that definition. That being said, it WAS absolutely delicious. The flavors of buffalo mozzarella, ham, pesto, onion and the airy focaccia worked brilliantly together. And although it was a lunch menu item the dish was rather large and satisfying. Overall the menu was extremely expansive and seemed like it had something that could please everyone. While a large space, Olivia is a comfortable and intimate setting, perfect for a date or meal with loved ones.

    Wine and pizza, yes please!

Pizza was good, pana cotta was amazing and I could drink a gallon of their Bellini's. We waited a really long time for our food but our coffee and dessert was on the house. I'll be back!

Named after Pastry Chef Pascal Dupuy, born French but trained in Norway and part of Oslo's dining…read morescene since 1995, Pascal now consists of several Patisseries and Restaurants including the largest near The Royal Palace. Officially addressed Henrik Ibsens Gate 36, one of the few locations open on Sunday while much of Oslo rests, guests are invited to dine from 12h00 to 17h00 on a collection of Pastries, Salads, Soups, Sandwiches and Desserts. Staffed by friendly servers from take-out to the table, all English fluent with a menu to match, Coffee ranges 49-65 NOK including everything from an honest Espresso to a towering Mocha on Ice. Regarded by Relais Dessert International and Guide des Croqueurs de Chocolat, a range of Truffles lining shelves, Viennoserie is a mixed experience including a good Pan au Chocolate but soggy Almond Croissant while Flan a la Vanille consists of a good Crust surrounding soft Custard with evidence of pure Vanilla Beans throughout. More pricey for Entremet, available to go but plated with Crème Anglaise or Fruit Purees on-site, Pascal's Rhubarb Tart is artful in terms of taste as well as texture while the Feuilletine trends a bit sticky in the Caramel layer which makes cutting without a knife something of a mess. Perhaps best known for homemade Softeis, undeniably produced with top quality Cream and smooth as silk, diners may choose to add a number of toppings with Sea Salt Caramel and crumbled Macarons in a variety of flavors the most popular for good reason.

Even though Pascal serves savory cafe fare, most of the attention seemed focused on their rainbow macaroon display and their visually arresting desserts. What drew our attention was all their photos of their soft-serve which they call Softis. It looked really creamy and they covered it in colorful macaron crumbs and placed one macaroon on top. It would be our choice which one to select. After walking to the Royal Palace from our hotel near the train station, we felt we could justify splitting one as it was only about 63 NOK or about $6.50 in US dollars (photo: https://bit.ly/3PNxVtl). Quite a treat though we weren't allowed to sit in the cafe due, I believe, to COVID restrictions. Jamie W. wanted to return a week later when we were back in Oslo. He wanted his own cup since I pinched the peanut butter macaroon entirely. Sharing is for losers. I think that was what Mister Rogers said. The drinks are mediocre, and personally I feel the space is way to big. It does not have that intimate feeling that you want it to have. My first experience of Vérité was at a friends birthday party. We had reserved seats for 15 and were seated in a private aria upstairs which felt cold and impersonal. The place was way to big for 15, and once people started to leave we decided to cram ourself into the lounge downstairs which immediately felt better. We didn't goto a bar to be seated by ourself, obviously we go to a bar so we can also see other people. I am sure the upstairs space is nice for big groups that have a closed party of sorts, it just wasn't for us. My biggest disappointment of the night was my whisky sour. Normally this drink is on the sour side, but my drink was as sweet as a ripe orange. Actually it tasted just like orange juice, and that is not how you want your whisky sour to taste like! I appreciate that bars try to do something different with their drinks, but I expected my drink to have a sour lemony-whisky taste, and it did not. I ended up sending my drink back, but only to have them give me the exact same drink without any changes. My takeaway form this is just don't order the whisky sour, go for something else, like wine! Overall Vérité has a great location at Akerbrygge, with a slightly "high-end" clientele, however there are so many great bars popping up in Oslo that I just wouldn't spend much time at this location.

It was a Tuesday afternoon but the restaurant was quite busy and it seemed that they were understaffed as the kind lady who took our orders was also tending to the entire restaurant at the same time. Maybe it was because we were starving from the walking we previously endured but the food took upwards to 50 minutes to come out (which felt like quite a long time). However, I have no complaints beyond that because the dishes were worth all the while! The ingredients were very fresh, pastas perfectly cooked and seasoned. We ordered the Rigatoni Alla Bartinli, Ravioli Porcini, and the Tagliatelle Al Pesto off of the lunch menu. If I were to rank the three, the top dish was the Ravioli Porcini, as it was paired with very tasty mushrooms and bacon within a flavorful cream sauce. The Rigatoni had great texture and was a close second as it was overall just very delicious. The Pesto Tagliatelle was also very tasty as well but the ravioli was the all around winner. All of the pasta was definitely freshly handmade. The restaurant featured modern, minimalistic decorations. From the exterior, there is a slight contrast from the Christiania Town-look to an adapted modern look of the restaurant. It was refreshing to see such a modern place near the older architecture surrounding it. From inside, the restaurant features a bar and a few other tables of seating area. It gives off "upscale-relaxed" vibes. Since it was raining that day, it was nice that they had a coat rack and area to put wet umbrellas near the door. It made the restaurant feel more like home. The pastas were quite filling and were perfectly portioned. Each pasta did come out to be close to 300 Norwegian Kroner (~$29 USD), but whatever the cost, it satisfied our bellies and we were happy campers! My overall rating would be a 4.1, rounded to 4/5. The meal was great but it did take a little while to come out. With all that being said, I would come back if we had the chance to explore Oslo a different time!
