Superb Neapolitan pizza with a wide variety of toppings served by a wonderful, friendly staff in a beautiful setting.
Our niece from Oslo suggested going there and we were really impressed with the breadth and depth of the menu, which allowed everyone in our party of five to find the antipasti and pizza of their dreams. Our antipasti arrived in very short order; several of us chose the Caprese di Burrata, which my wife just couldn't stop raving about. The freshness of the cherry tomatoes, cheese and basil was just incredible.
While our pizzas were being prepared and others noshed on the delish Focaccia Rosmarino, I checked out their massive wood-burning pizza oven. Unlike any I've ever seen, it has a large turntable inside that rotates the pizzas (quite quickly), ensuring that even large batches cook evenly. The owner explained that this rotation is reflected in the name of the pizzeria (giro = tour, tondo = round), and also because the various pizzas represent different parts of Italy.
About 15 minutes later our pizzas arrived. Our Quattro Formaggi was absolutely divine--a perfect blend of cheeses and textures. A round of oohs and aah's ensued as others took their first bites of their Margherita, Contadina, and gluten-free Parma pizzas. I sampled the Margherita because it's our "reference" pizza and the flavor was best-in-class.
If all that wasn't great enough, the owner brought over a complementary glass of Tiramisu for us!
Anyone seeking true pizza enlightenment should run, not walk to this fabulous pizzeria. I should also add that this is the most beautiful, photogenic pizza I've ever seen. read more
