The Palm Beach Tanning Salons in Timonium, Maryland has tanning beds that are defective and the fans do not turn off. The weather is currently 32 degrees and it freezing. The facility is in disrepair and needs to be renovated. Although the employees are very nice. read more

I had completed my tanning session when I received an important call from work. I rushed out of the salon to handle my business. A short time after I realized I left two very expensive diamond rings in the room. I frantically called trying to reach them before the next person went in the room. I was so relieved to find out that Mackenzie had picked up my rings and safely stored them for me until I got there to pick them up. In today's world. Even though I have been a Premier sunless member for 10+ years and pay over $65 a month. they are now adding a $10 surcharge every time I use the Versa. They likely do this to push people into the Mystic tanning, which seems antiquated to me because you still have to have an attendant put a cartridge in for you. I would rather have them adjust their pricing by a few dollars and not charge me $10. every time I walk through the door to use the versa. It leaves me with a bad feeling about the business. read more

spray tan fully didn't work. i got the one that sprays you twice, wore a bathing suit for a tanline, took a look after and there was no tanline at all. the girl at the front desk was nice to let me go back and try a different booth with dark solution, but that didn't work either. i am fuming to say the least bc it wasn't cheap... read more

Every time I come to this location I'm disappointed. Tonight I waited 5 minutes before she walked up front to help me (the place was empty. It was 45 min before close). I needed a lotion and she pointed to the carousel in the corner without offering to help. I always use a level 3 bed and she told me I could only go for 6 minutes. This really irritated me bc I explained that they did this last time and I walked out with no color. She said the bulbs were new which after my session it was obvious they weren't. I'm Greek and Italian with olive skin... She said I was at high risk to burn. I asked her if I came our with no color can I go back in for the rest of the time I paid for. Her response was "if you don't come out with color than there's something wrong with your skin". My total was higher than normal so I asked if the price changed. She didn't give me a straight answer- she said the prices will be going up a few dollars bc of the increase in minimum wage....? I will never go back here again. When I finished tanning, I came out and looked for her so I could show her the results- of course she was no where to be found. Furious that I paid $60 to tan for 6 min in a mid level bed. read more

So I came here from New Orleans. This place is completely unprofessional, somehow my membership got messed up with some other females membership. I was treated like a criminal for not doing anything wrong. She told me to always bring my id to make sure it's me. I've been a member since 2011 and when I came to this place, for the first time in my life I was treated poorly, very very poorly. I'm going to be a member now at a different tanning company. Customer service here is the absolute worst thing I have ever witnessed and been a part of. They lost my business. I highly recommend going to another tanning company. The manager (I believe her name is Amy) really frustrates me. Whenever I try to ask questions about tanning, memberships, or pretty much anything she answers SO short. She will just say things like "yes" or "no". It's really irritating when I'm trying to get in-depth info. She has really horrible customer service skills. She doesn't say it in a rude way but it's almost as if she just hates her job & doesn't want to talk to anyone and/or really has no motivation to make money. I'm considering a $70per month membership, but when I get short, useless answers it seriously deters me from joining. I haven't joined yet and I'm not sure if I will, as she is the manager & at PBT there are many times the other staff say only the manager can do certain tasks. I can't imagine if I had a more serious issue, how she would respond if all I get are "mhhm's". One time the booth I used had a dirty floor, and I stepped in, of course already nude & w/lotion on, I went to put on the goggles & they had nasty greasiness & clumps of mascara all over. I was not going to put them on my face, & I didn't just want to yell for help all the way from the room. So reluctantly, I tanned with no eye protection (not good) & when I went to the front desk to explain, of course the girl said I had to speak with the manager. She wasn't in that day so the next time I came in I told the manager what happened & all she said was "yeah I'm so sorry the disinfectant doesn't clean that well so I'll make sure we scrub them well when you come in, or your can buy a pair" Hmm. That's really my that helpful. If that were me I would have a SINCERE apology, offer a "re-do" session at no charge & even offer discounted eyewear for future. That's pretty gross that she admitted the disinfectant doesn't clean well. Hmph. Well at least most of the other girls that work there are nice. As for the manager, I really don't know. Maybe she's burned out & doesn't care. It's really irritating for someone like me who likes PBT and is being held back from possibly joining because of 1 person. She has also given me incorrect info. before. It's a nice salon, USUALLY, not always clean, and the prices aren't nearly as high as they used to be. I may go back from time to time but I can't see myself paying for a membership with someone like her. Shape up PBT! read more

Beds are great, staff is nice. Efficient to get in and out, so tanning is as effortless as possible. High priced in my opinion, but the facility reflects the prices, as it seems very classy. Not for someone looking for a place to tan sporadically; they have a contract and really no affordable way to purchase single or package sessions. Plan to become a member and enroll in a monthly debit routine. read more

Hella pricey (as with Palm Beach Tan in general) but this location has a lot of nice beds so you don't usually have to wait for a diamond level bed. However the employees here are definitely not as nice as some of the other locations. Once in a while one of the girls is super helpful and friendly but usually they're cold and not very welcoming, but oh well. read more

The staff will offer you a $50 for two sunless tans package that expires if you are not able to come back in a month. My girlfriend and I both bought packages and each weren't able to come back within the month. That was both of our first and last experiances at this store!!! read more

Horrible place! Bad customer service skills me and a friend went for the first time ever and the entire time the girl helping us kept having to stop to take care of other customers coming in took twice as long didn't explain how whatever time u start tanning that day u can never come earlier than that the next day cause it has to be a full 24 hours.. the girl also wouldn't tell us how much a bottle of lotion was every time she would say "well with this package the lotion costs" and never just the price of the bottle when we asked 3 times ..my friend was also yelled at for taking a vitamin water out of the fridge after she spent all this money to get the diamond package which there is a sign that says a free drink is included with buying the diamond package!? Extremely disappointed with the staff at this location. 1. Earlier this month I was leaving and the manger had her leg up in the counter showing another employee something on her leg. ***2. Last Wednesday I came in for a spray tan and realized 3hrs later that I left a ring my father ( who recently passed) gave me for my birthday. I called and spoke with the manager Alisa? in a complete panic and all she would tell me is that it is company policy that she cannot disclose anything left here but that I would have to come in and describe in detail the ring and then she would check to see if they had it! This is a small ring of great value but even greater sentimental value. It was rush hour and I pleaded with her since I was literally shaking and was not prepared to drive out to the salon, and then I had to be on the other side of town for an event. I got myself together and showed up just when she called to let the evening employee know I was going to show up- I heard her snarkiness on the line about my call. The employee immediately took me in the back and found my ring at the bottom of a small lost & found bin with lotions and larger items. Of course I was so relieved. I understand that it is on me if I leave something behind- BUT no one else was there when I came in and Alisa? Cleaned the room and found it - SO why did she not call me??? I have to enter a pin to even enter the room! This is unacceptable and the poorest customer service I have ever experienced! read more
