My wife and I went to Palazzo's at about 9:00 on a Saturday night. Like every other BYOB place in Houston, it seems like they lack in certain areas but the food is always pretty good and you have to like the fact that you can go buy a good bottle of wine and bring it to dinner. Corking fee is $7, with the corking fee and two entrée's and one side salad our bill was around $40. It didn't seem like the cleanest place and the service was terrible, half of the wait staff seemed like they were stoned and could care less about what was going on. Lucky for us, once we got our food we already had our bottle of wine and didn't need our pathetic waiter anyways. The salads weren't very good, apparently they are known for their dressing and you can even buy a bottle to take home. I guess the dressing was ok, but I couldn't get past the warm lettuce. It looked like they use the lemon trick, the lettuce wasn't brown but it wasn't fresh either....tomatoes weren't very good either. For dinner, my wife had the Pasta Palazzo, my wife enjoyed this and the sauce was wonderful. I had the Chicken Piccata which was also pretty good, no complaints about the entrée. If you can get past the weak salad, not pay attention to the dirty napkins and the non-existent service the food is pretty good and you can't beat downing a bottle of wine and having two dinners for $40. read more

Tried it for lunch today and it was okay. I liked the ambiance and the decor but that was the only thing I really liked. To me I have had better italian food at other places. I will go back and try something different on the menu before I completly write it off as mediocre italian. read more

We ordered out and requested some family platters for a group of 5. They said they would cut the portions and price of their catering menu in half. Ultimately the food was tasty but the portions were not great considering to the price in our opinion. We will try again I suppose. read more

Inconsistent, sloppy service and cold food sum up this once treasured establishment. I ate here all year until they blew any hope of me coming back. My veal was cold when it showed up and my waiter left before I did. Manager was annoyed by me sending back cold veal, then charged me for the rest of my meal. This is our second time to come here with a fair size group from work, both times 12-15 people in our group. The food is good however the problem is with the service. It takes too long to get a table setup when we arrive at 11 for lunch and there are very few other people there. They get the order in a timely manner but then we see other tables come in order and get their food before anything comes. Finally we usually get some of our food, but they have messed up or missed orders both times and they had to wait for it to be made. Then the real problem is getting our ticket and paying, they have to clear the entire table first before splitting tickets (we asked at beginning of meal that they would be split, no problem), it takes about 20 minutes to get the ticket brought to the table, about half the tickets are wrong and need adjustment, another 15 minutes. Then finally take the payment from everyone and another 20+ minutes before our cards are returned. That adds close to an hour to the end of the meal for a work day lunch!!! p.s. the breadsticks are pretty good though. read more

We order from Palazzos all the time and they are consistently good. Tonight was an exception. They were fantastic!! I had several special requests for my home delivery and they not only nailed it but everything was perfectly cooked. This is especially difficult for delivery. Last year, I planned my sister's bridal shower and decided to cater from Palazzo's Trattoria. I had dined here several times before and always loved their pizza. The online catering menu mirrored what I had in mind. One of the managers, Steve, helped me choose items for my menu and made the whole process so simple. Not only did they meet, but they totally exceeded my expectations. I was very pleased with how the food turned out, and had several compliments from the guests. Went for lunch with a friend. Bread was alright, could of used some sort of dip, but it is complimantry. Not the best Italian I've had for the price, probably try somewhere else next time. Same opinion for my friend. If I do happen to go back, I'll try the pizza next time. read more

We celebrated a double birthday Sat. nite in the private Venetian Room at Palazzos Trattoria on Briar Forest and it was a big success. The staff was very helpful in planning the party. We had a choice of several menus. We chose a menu that featured a choice of chicken parmigiana, veal marsala or shrimp scampi with salad and dessert included. All were delicious, the service was good and the price was reasonable. Another plus about this restaurant is that it is easily accesible, no traffic jams and no valet parking. Salads are good. Waitstaff is great. Go someplace else for pizza. Steady decline in pizza quality over last year. Crust could be used for tire patch in an emergency. No need to scrape ingredients off they pretty much don't exist. I will still eat there, just not pizza. Takeout prices include a takeout fee that is in fine print on menu. read more

Compliments to the chef, managers and entire team at Palazzos! At closing on April 17th, I contacted Lori frantically seeking a new location for my parents surprise wedding anniversary celebration on April 18th due to inclement weather. Her professionalism and quick response set the tone for a great event but also a long standing relationship! She immediately confirmed the reservation, established a menu and assured me that all would be well! By10am next morning, I spoke with Donald (I believe was the chef as well) who confirmed everything again! This was exceptionally comforting as I had 60 guests to accommodate and I had not visited nor heard of this restaurant! Upon arriving at the location, I was greeted by both Lori and Donald. The servers were readily available to assist with the setup and had preprinted menus on the tables. Once guest arrived, the servers were prompt and courteous. Special arrangements for my vegetarian guest and little people were made on the spot! The private room was tastefully decorated and served as a great compliment to our shades of coral theme. The food was awesome! We had a diverse choice of entrees (beef lasagna, pasta palazzo, and pollo jj) all for a decent price. Each meal was beautifully plated and portions so large that guest took plenty home! I personally tried the Pasta Palazzo and Beef Lasagna and it was divine! The Pasta Palazzo had a rich Chardonnay sauce the brought out the flavors of the artichokes sundries tomatoes and spinach. Home cooking on a higher level! The lasagna was great because the ricotta was evenly dispersed and there lots of sauce and the beef was seasoned well! Overall, my family and I were impressed with the quality of service. I have eaten here many times and it is fantastic. I have also ordered catering here at the office many times and they have excellent food and the delivery guys won't leave until everything is set up perfect. We get the aluminum pans with sterno to keep the food hot until everyone is ready to eat. I love the chicken piccata and the apetizers we get catered are stuffed mushrooms, spicy beef empanadas, meatballs and wrapped aspargus. Had it all last night. I promise you won't be disappointed. This was our first time trying palazzos. We just moved to this side of town and wanted to try a good pizza place. We decided to have our pizza delivered, even though we live three streets down. The lady on the phone said it would take about 45 minutes to a hour and 15 minutes. Our order arrived a Hour and twenty minutes, and the pizza was very cold! I've had this pizza before, it was very similar to the pizza at Chuck E Cheese! Not worth the wait or money. I usually like to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt, because I read a few bad reviews about this restaurant, but it really was bad! From this day on, I will listen to all bad reviews first. Seafood tastes spoiled! Very rude to diners who must eat diary free! We have dined here maybe 6-8 times over the years, and that was mostly due to convenience of location. Expect to be treated very rudely if a member of your party cannot have dairy products. With one exception, anytime I have asked about dairy in a particular dish, the waitstaff becomes rude and acts like they shouldn't be bothered. I have received bread that was burned almost completely black when I asked for bread without cheese. On our last visit (early May 2018), our waiter had quite the belligerent attitude and flatly told us that every single item on the menu contains milk products. My party and I remained polite. After his blanket statement regarding dairy was eventually 'discovered' to be false, we ordered, and another waiter brought an item to our table and gave me an exceedingly surly and nasty look. Every member of our party noticed it. I have only ordered seafood a couple of times at Palazzos, because both times I received seafood that tasted spoiled and disgusting. I had to spit it out. I do not plan to return to Palazzos. read more

We decided tonight to go to Palazzo's since we haven't been there in a while since moving out of the neighborhood. We decided to sit at the bar where Devin was our bartender. We waited for several minutes for him to ask if we wanted something to drink, as he was busy chatting with the other guests at the bar. When we finally placed our drink order, I ordered a beer while my wife ordered water with lemon. My beer was given to me but no water for her. When she noticed the women next to us get water after she had, she spoke to Devin. He had placed my wife's water in front of the gentleman next to us instead of my wife. When he realized this, he picked it up and said sorry, and then asked the gentleman if he had drank out of it. You should not do that. When the man said he hadn't, he placed the water in front of my wife. Our food was delivered without any problems. When another customer came in, he greeted them quickly as they were regulars. He proceeded to have a conversation with them talking from the end of the bar. I don't need to hear their conversation through out the bar. He then told everyone at the bar they were having a contest and everyone should give him 5 stars so he can get free food and win the contest. We will not return since Houston has many other restaurants to choose from. read more

We had an early lunch at the Briar Forest location yesterday and although we don't often post opinions, we felt we had to acknowledge the excellent food. The chicken piccatta and the chicken marsala were among the best we have ever eaten. The chicken marsala was rich and earthy and covered with mushrooms. The chicken piccatta was light and fresh with lemon, artichoke hearts and capers. We also ordered the pasta palazzo to go for supper and it was fantastic. We will be sure to frequent this location and can't wait to try everything on the menu. read more

The staff here is awesome! We love this place. The bread is crazy good (don't start, trust me!). The food is pretty good, too. My favorite thing about this place is the ambience. I can't speak to the quality of the food I never got past the insufferable attitude of the help. A good friend took me with him to this restaurant he had eaten there many times over the years had been a loyal customer. After an extended period of waiting to be seated they finally showed us to a booth. He and I were both dressed casually as most people are during the summer in Houston. After we were seated and ordered our drinks while looking over the menu the manager approached us and informed us the he was going to let it slide this time and go ahead and serve us but in the future we would have to be better dressed. When my friend pointed out to him that he had eaten there many times over the years and was dressed exactly the same way the manager informed him we've changed our policy. There's a right and wrong way to say a thing and had the manager shown us a little bit of courtesy instead of sneering at us in disgust it would not have been so upsetting. I understand that restaurants have dress codes and policies and have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with is being spoken down to. Will not be back. read more

I adore this restaurant. We've been going... 8ish years, since we moved to the area. My husband used to work across the street in the short office tower, and now I work in one of the tall ones walking distance. I try to eat here AS MUCH AS I CAN. I just love it - eating in, food to go, catering. It's delicious, 80% of the time I have EXCELLENT customer service, it's never been too busy to find a seat, and they'll accommodate a crazy pregnant woman's special requests :) Soup & salad makes for a great work lunch - and it's never so loud we can't hear. We ordered from Palazzo's for our office lunch - 11 separate lunches, most with some type of special request, and not only did they have the order ready on time, it was correct with nothing missing (and included extra salad dressing!) and was delicious. Horrible delivery. Pizza was ice cold, rubbery, greasy and had no flavor. We live so close there's no excuse for how cold everything was. Chicken parm was so over priced. Extremely thin piece of chicken. Probably a 4 oz piece pounded thin. Breading was mushy and then there was just a little Cheese on top. I finished it in about 4 bites. Small portion of pasta to go with it. I was hungry when I was done. For almost $20 for this dish it was not worth it. Called up to talk to them about the cold pizza and they did offer to send another one but after waiting almost 90 min for our delivery we couldn't wait any longer to eat. But we thought they needed to know how awful the product the sent was. read more

Palazzos catered our Holiday Teacher Appreciation luncheon at Bunker Hill Elementary and we were extremely pleased with both the food and the service they provided. The whole process was seamless from placing the order to delivery. Everyone we dealt with was courteous and very helpful. The food itself was plentiful and delicious. It's strange to me that this restaurant never has more then 3 tables when I come. The food is 1st class and consequently the best buy for Italian lunch in town. Most special about this place is that I've eaten here about 8 times over the course of two months and have yet to be disappointed. Dinner is not as great of a deal. The focaatia bread sticks are as good as it gets, though they may sometimes be too oily or crispy. Their pesto is 2nd only to Cafe Express. Suggestions: any special w/ fish, chicken picata and fettuccine Alfredo. Great place for group or intimate lunches, relaxing jazz music (not live). read more

We are longtime fans of Palazzo's. We order delivery at least once a week and dine in often. It's our go-to place for delicious, casual food and relaxing ambiance. We love it, our kids love it, and it feels like a true neighborhood bistro. In a city full of great Italian restaurants, it says a lot that we return again and again. We're hooked on their bread, their salads, their pizza - and their seafood and steak is always top-notch. I recently attended a private event there, and I was wowed by all the new dishes I had never tried. We will continue to frequent Palazzo's, and we'll most likely use it in the future as an ideal location for private parties. I found that they did a wonderful job. read more

The service I received from the hostess was less than desirable. She had a bad attitude and when I asked to not sit near the bathroom, she threw a fit. The food was decent and my server was awesome! They sent a waiter over to the table to play a practical joke. They told him that I wanted to order quickly and leave right away. We love Palazzo's! Our family has been dining there and ordering delivery for years, always delicious food and great service. Last night a group I'm in hosted a party there, they were awesome! The staff was more than helpful, setting up, making sure everything was just so. Our guests raved about the food served. The staff was friendly and stuck to what we had discussed, it was really nice that when the bill came there were no hidden surprises. Well the food was decent, but the service was laughably bad! We had a waitress named Alexis. She had one other table when we got here, but they left, so we were the only table she had- yet she managed to give some of the worst service I have had. She badgered us at first to get our order, then ignored everything else we requested. Salads were supposed to come with the meal. Our main courses were brought, and we mentioned that we had not received salads. She said oh, I didn't know you wanted them. We said yes. She then proceeded to piddle around with napkin-folding,etc for another 15 minutes, then came back to ask if we still wanted salads. By then, we were done with the main course, so we said no. But it was obvious by her attitude that she had no intention of bringing them after we mentioned them the first time. Also, she never once refilled any glasses, asked if our meal was satisfactory, or acted in any manner that is reminiscent of being a waiter. It is rare that I think someone deserves to be fired, but in this case- absolutely! read more
