Do yourself a kindness and AVOID this nail salon. I rarely, if ever, post reviews on an establishment, but I had such an unprofessional experience that I want to spare anyone else the same. I asked for a basic manicure and asked the tech to shorten my nails. Here is a picture of the butcher job. She cut my nails down below the quick (painful). When I asked her to stop cutting them, she stood up and literally yelled...YOU TOLD ME TO CUT THEM SHORT! Needless to say, I did not let her finish the job. I am including a photo of my nails, and you will see that she did a terrible job with the cuticles as well. I would avoid ever going here. (I would give negative stars if yelp allowed it.) read more

I have been going to Palace Nails for 4 years. Linda and LyLy are amazing, as well as most of the other staff! The store is clean and well kept, although they do get extremely busy...so I can see why some people complain there would be a mess under the tables and the floor. I paid a little over $100 for a pedi and acrylic fill. My pedi was fine, the acrylics were bumping and she asked if everything was fine but no she only redid 2 nails I was over it at that point. Jen and Ivy we're absolutely great. They both listened when I said I wanted natural looking acrylics, so I ended up with a thinner build. It was almost a shame to put a color on, that's how good they looked. You know when you have to go "fix" how your nails are later that day, when you feel them snagging or rough? Not from Ivy. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and even though they were quite busy on a Saturday morning, I waited no more than 10 minutes. Ivy gave an amazing pedicure and I was very pleased with the job she did on the gel polish for my toes. Afterwards, I was taken straight to have a full set of nails put on. Nikki did a fantastic job and I will be going back to see her. She confirmed my shape and length and color choice multiple times and made sure I was happy throughout the whole process. I received the palace pedi. It's 55 plus shellac is 15, this pedi was about an hour. It includes paraffin, hot stones, and a massage. The lady was very nice but pedi just felt rushed overall. She only did two coats of the dark color I chose which left them sorta see through, my toe nails are still too long even after I told her shorten them more. Not my first visit, the service is typically consistently satisfactory but this time it was disappointing. The location is great & the interior is beautifully clean! I totally understand the stress of being understaffed but the burden shouldn't be placed on clients. I had an appointment for a gel manicure and was sat immediately but was not helped until 40 minutes post. Very mediocre manicure, not impressed and was complete in 15 minutes. I received a gel manicure & pedicure on my first visit here. They use a nail file to remove previous gel. It was painful. I have sores along my nail bed from the file tearing my skin. Next, my tech attempted to work on my cuticles without oil- shoving the metal utensil against my nail bed it was painful. She didn't air out the hot towels on & I JUMPED when she touched it to my leg- it was truly scalding. She did my manicure from the pedicure chair although others in my group were moved to a table. I sat with my arms extended in the air for her to do the manicure- very uncomfortable. I experienced several cuts (was bleeding from my fingers). When she used lotion on my arms, it was not even rubbed in all of the way. I grabbed a towel and wiped the rest off. As she finished I noticed I had black polish smeared on my thumb. After looking further, I saw she had layered the gel so thick it was just caked up & cracking on the edges. Another technician fixed it prior to us leaving. However, the entire polish technique on all of my fingers was poor. Lots of extra nail on the sides with no polish on them. Approximately ~28 hours after I left & both my GEL manicure & pedicure are already peeling and cracking off as well as the other individuals in my party. Gel manicures last a full 14+ days & my gel pedicures almost NEVER peel for me. So this is highly unusual. The experience was painful, I could not wait for it to be over the entire time I was there. I would gladly take $90 (before any tip) elsewhere & advise you to do the same. All three people in my party had issues with their nails in the day following the appointment so i believe that speaks to an issue with the quality of their gel products. As far as a painful experience, i was the only one who can vouch for that & that is solely a technician issue. You could probably go here and not have that issue with all of the technicians. read more

This place is great!! I get dip on my natural nail. I have now been back a second time for my nails. First time was with Andy, second with Viviane. Both did a great job and I would ask for both to do my nails again. Viviane took the time with detail and shaping my nails just how i wanted. The salon is great as well. The wors part about moving is finding all new people. I was extremely happy with my nail tech in Sacramento. I thought it would be impossible to match what I had. I tried another salon first and was not very happy. very expensive and quality not as good. I had noticed Palace Nail Bar when I went to Neighborhood Jam. Its much closer to where I live so I gave them a call and was able to get right in with Ivy with no appointment. She started my fill and recommended a new set which I did. She was pretty quick without compromising quality. My next visit i got a fill and pedicure. Both with Ivy. Great service again. My bill was $98 for both with gel, which is what I was paying in CA. When I was checking out and giving me my total, she told me she was charging me to get my dip I had on removed (which is fine, most places don't do that anymore but whatever). She explained they only charge when you go from dip to gel, or gel to dip.. but the more I thought about it, that didn't make sense. You remove them the same. My friends and I came here and we were all going to get dip and pedicures. They were polite and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We got our toes done which came our all jagged and all over our toes. It's very overpriced compared to many nail places in our area. The dip turned out a little better. It looked pretty good, but the women cut many of our fingers and they bled. They tried but I don't recommend. read more

I took my husband and two daughters for pedicures I also received an express manicure and pedicure. The total was $200 one of my daughters is older than 10 so she was adult price which is fine but her pedicure was rushed she started after us and finished before us and for full price I would expect she get the full service I didn't know until afterwards that she had started after us until she told me but I knew her service seemed rushed. Kim was very rough , in a hurry, put lotion on my hands with no massage, didn't offer hand scrub and didn't say one word to me. She followed me to check out to see her tip, I paid with $100 bill and when I gave her a tip she refused it! She wanted more I guess. I asked her why she didn't want it , she said something in Vietnamese and walked off. I was shocked and very insulted. Just because I have extra cash in my hand after breaking $100 Bill does not mean I'll tip $20. A previous pedi appt I got paraffin wax. Apparently the guy tech didn't wipe all of it off my toenails so the polish didn't adhere. However I didn't realize this for a few hrs. And in the meantime I brushed my toes against my pants and polish stained them. When I called to complain they redid them the next day, no refund, didn't care about my pants. And acted put out. I've been to this place 3 times. First time I had this young man name Ken to do my fill, gel polish and design. He is very good but complained about how people don't tip him and how it's a lot of work. I must say when he did my fill my nails lasted and didn't fall off. But, I wanted a design and he didn't want to do the design because he didn't like it. Red flag, you don't tell a customer you don't like what they pick. But I asked him to do it anyways. Went to him again 3 wks later, phenomenal job but his attitude wasn't friendly, he acts like he hates what he does. As soon as I sat down at his area he just said what design do you want. He's rude. I would like to go to him but his customer service skills suck. Also, he charges 20 for a design on one finger on each hand. That is outrageous. I always tip $10 per service but I felt like he wasn't appreciative so I stop going to him and went one more time and I got this girl name Diana or something like that. Didn't like her either she said she didn't like the shape I had on my nails and wanted which was square round. So she did square. I wanted a triangular design on each finger, she wanted to charge me $20 extra. I said on heck no. For get that, I won't get a design. So I said can I get different colors on each finger, that was $8 extra. She didn't do a good job like Ken. I also had a lady doing my pedicure, she was sweet and did a good job. if i could give this place 0 stars I would. I got my nails done 3 days ago and now i have three infected nails due to the staff not cleaning tools. I called and asked what to do and if i could get them soaked off and a refund. Staff was rude and said it could not possibly be because of them and that i could not get a refund. I paid $65 for this set and now have to have them taken off. I was seen by a doctor and was confirmed the infection was due to dirty tools. I have never been to such an unprofessional and rude nail salon. Do not go here. read more
