My favorite local spot for a Friday fish fry! It comes out with three perfectly crispy pieces of fish, a creamy coleslaw side, and fries. We opt to replace the fries with tots! This is all you can eat as a Friday special- just the fish, not the sides. I started with the three and got an order of two then an order of one you order by the piece once you finish your main meal. Served with the meal you get a basket with malted vinegar, Tabasco, Cholula, ketchup, and mustard. The fish fry is $18.95 all you can eat on Fridays. The blue moon draft is $5 on Fridays as well. The other daily deal is the $5 Tito's drinks. Quality and taste are great. Service is quick and friendly! The bar has a great vibe as it's central to the restaurant but there are some high top tables along the perimeter as well. read more

I don't make it to Paddy Mac's often, but it is fairly close to our home so it is a place to visit on occasion. They do have some decent daily food and drink specials - my love really likes the Friday fish fry. On Thursdays they have a "wings of fire" special, and the wings come with different degrees of spiciness. Fortunately, the BBQ wings are also on the Thursday special, and they taste very similar to those wings I used to like from KFC. We sat in the outdoor patio last Thursday and ordered items like burgers, wings, chili, curly fries and tater tots. I sampled one of my bud's mild wings and that was good too, though I prefer the saucy BBQ wings. I've enjoyed the reuben in the past too. Service can be hit or miss, but our server that evening was fairly attentive considering we were sitting outside. read more

I am a visibly queer person, as was my friend I was with, and we generally just felt kind of unwelcome and burdensome to the bartenders who were seemingly friendly to everyone else. Great neighborhood bar! I've been twice and both times service was great and the food was good. All of the food has been delicious. Cheese curds were great along with the fish fry and Rueben. They have a diff special each day of the week - fish fry is all you can eat on Friday and very delicious. They also had a deal for beers too. Will be back! Outdoor seating was perfect! We wanted to sit outside because of Covid-19, but I would enjoy it during normal times weather permitting. In our case, it was a pleasant Spring evening. My whole family was together so that made it extra special. Service was slow, otherwise I would have given a 5 star rating. Our food was excellent. Among our orders were Ceasars salad, tuna salad, turkey hamburger, grilled chicken sandwich. The cole slaw could have been a larger portion. The curly fries and sweet potato fries were delicious. Although service was slow, in the end, that was OK because we got to stick around and enjoy our company. Then, when it started to rain, we were safely under cover until it stopped. The waitress was very couteous and pleasant. I would definitely return. In fact, I told my son and daughter-in-law that they should eat here every night because they live within walking distance. I drive by this place every day going to work and finally tried it tonight. My family of 6 sat outside snd had a great dinner. Found easy street parking and were happy to sit at the nice outdoor patio. Abigail was our server and she was great. We ordered potato skins (great), chicken strips (ok) , burger (perfectly cooked), veggie burger, deluxe grilled cheese ( yum, but would get without the egg next time) . I've been coming to Paddy's for over 20 years and it's the best it's ever been. I love the way you can sit on one side of the bar and chat with everyone since it's one big horseshoe shape. There's a sense of neighborhood and community there. And the service has never been better. Amy, Alisa, Kayla, Amy Lynn, Jen or Amanda are all great no matter what day you show up. Paddy Macs isn't my local watering hole, but it's a friend's so we hit it up on a cold night. The place has a downright homey/cozy atmosphere. You can tell that there are regulars but they still treat you right even if you aren't yet. From the outside it looks a little dicey like a lot of Chicagoland bars but don't let it fool you. We sat in the back and got to people watch, every night there's a special and we went for the Paddy MAC burger which hit the spot, fried cheese curds amazing. There's arcade games scattered around and it isn't so loud that you can't have a conversation, but loud enough that you can tell it's busy even on a weekday. A fun place to hang with a group of friends. My friends and I were having a debate about what type of a bar it is. I concur with other reviewers with being a neighborhood bar. My friends say otherwise and said a dive bar. (Really? I still don't think so.) Despite one bartender at the time I visited, she was able to multitask and cater to many people at once. Their drink specials were a bargain! We go out to happy hour Fridays quite often and go elsewhere. I think we're going to come here a lot more often, thanks to our positive recent experience! I'm shocked by the positive reviews on here; I was not happy with this place, at all. 1) The phone was meh. Fish and chips = pretty gross. The tots were okay but my stomach must not be able to handle tons of oil too well and that's all I could taste. The fish was just -- cheap. I mean, you can't expect mahi mahi in "fish & chips" but it just tasted like something I would eat if I was dead broke...if I was dead broke, I wouldn't be going out to eat. The grilled cheese deluxe was a step up but still, nothing too amazing. 2) SERVICE SUCKED!!! Seriously, worst service ever. Our waitress came twice (to take our order and then to deliver it) and then we had to fetch our own boxes and the bill because she just never considered coming back to ask if we needed anything else...or, at least, the bill. Definitely will not be returning. What a waste of money & time. **By the way, CASH ONLY! They need to have a huge sign outside that says this -- what the hell, really? Come on, we're about to get rid of credit cards and use our cells to pay for crap and this place is still cash only. Was there last night and was there only for drinks... this is the typical dive bar/neighborhood bar where everyone knows each other and the bartender. They have cheap drinks ($3 Sam Adams pints during September) and a bunch of other specials. My friend got a burger which he said was decent, nothing out of the ordinary. I saw that Mondays they have $4 burgers and Fridays some sort of fried fish special which my friends (who are regular patrons here) said it was good and I had to come back to try. Will probably be back again on a Friday to try out the food. I liked the laidback ambiance and that there are always specials to take advantage of. read more

I've been here a few times for a beer or a quick drink since it's in the neighborhood. I enjoy the food for the most part, typical bar food and it's quick. They've got good drink specials throughout the week. However, the waitstaff is a hit or miss. Twice, specifically, Ive gone to have a quick bite between 4-6 and the bartenders (two different ladies) didn't greet us, didn't come to our table, gave us a very small cup of water and never came to refill it. Both were either hanging out with friends at the bar or waiting on the men who gave them attention instead of waiting on all of the customers in the place. Awful service.
