Wish I had switched from my BMW dealer to Paddock Imports years ago, these guys are amazing. Recommended by a friend, my car was not running correctly and I drove it there on my lunch hour. Billy who runs the front desk, was so helpful in getting me in quickly and once there, having my car looked at immediately. Ryan who worked on it, was a pro, and Doug who owns the company is a great guy. Turns out my car was not fit to even be driven, so they kept it and did the repairs needed and I had it back within two days. What I really liked about the service was that they have a 1-5 rating system for repairs (1 being not necessary yet, and 5 being you can't drive your car now), and they present possible repairs in that light. No pressure at all and they explained everything like I was a family member. They even took me back in the shop to show me what was wrong with my car while it was up on the lift. While I haven't actually taken my car to get fully serviced here, I was amazed at the diagnosis and careful attention from Doug that I received over the phone. In short, my (new to me) 2006 BMW wouldn't start after a long weekend. Doug patiently explained what might be the cause and how to get it going again. When a simple jump didn't fix it, he walked me through a few additional checks. As it turns out, it wasn't completely in "Park," so the car wouldn't turn over. I can't say enough about what a great experience, I had with Doug and his crew. I had taken my 6 series to Avalon Motorsports, where I was over quoted. I thought I would get a second opinion. So I took my car down to Paddock Imports. Not only did my car not need the repairs that Avalon quoted, their quote was significantly higher then what Paddocks quoted when it was time for the repairs. Had an fully executed agreement to buy a vehicle from Sergey, one of the Owners, and he backed out when he could not provide the title. I graciously agreed to terminate the Agreement as he decided to then not sell the vehicle, only requesting that my costs to have the vehicle inspected at an independent shop be reimbursed. He of course said he would do so, but after numerous requests on my part, he has never reimbursed the funds. No chance I would ever deal with a shop owned by a guy with such low moral character again. read more

We've had our 3 series serviced by Doug several times now. Honest, well priced (couldn't believe how cheap it was sometimes -- it was because he only did what really needed doing), polite and efficient. All round great guy. He also replaced a set of brakes: not cheap of course -- that's BMWs for you -- but well priced. And he helped out on some other things for free. Bottom line: I trust him. I haven't been in to Paddock's yet but I can't wait to take my mini cooper clubman in for it's oil change. I recently got my "new to me" 2009 mini and the brake light has been on since I've had it, for about the last month. I called and spoke to an informative man at Ralph Schomp who informed me it cost $62 just for them to look at it. When I assured him the brakes were fine and a new sensor was installed he then told me that it would cost $32 to reset it. After being burned before by a Toyota dealership I thought I'd check out yelp to find a local business that could service my mini and possibly help me out with the brake light situation. I called Paddock Imports Doug answered the phone and revealed to me a little mini secret that I can reset the car myself with the key and that the brake light will turn off. He also re-assured me that if this little trick didn't work, to bring in the car and they'd take care of it with no charge. I'm happy to say his little trick worked. I'm feeling a little silly that I've been driving around with the annoying brake light on for the past month! I wish I would of called them sooner. Thank you guys and I look forward to meeting and having Paddock Imports service my car in the future. How refreshing to find a family owned and operated business. I decided to visit this place based on a recommendation from a friend. But what worries me is that I didn't see a familiar face, no other Audi. I did see a cousin, a Porsche so that was a sigh of relief. Overall, I felt that the service was positive as my car ran well and if you asked me "How do I know?", because I can tell. The gauges indicated cooler temps so I know I got premium fluids infused. Yes I'm satisfied but the only complaint I have is the breakdown in price was confusing, so 4 (stars), no more. As good as it gets! I have a BMW X5 2001 and these pros handle her with the same love and care I give and she deserves. Had an oil change done today and this was my first visit at Paddock. Overall I have to say I am very impressed with the service here. At first i was a little frustrated as the quote i received when I made the appointment, and when I called today to confirm the oil they would be using was $50 less than what I was actually charged. When I mentioned this after paying my bill ($179.95-the same amount that the BMW dealership charges)they seemed confused and wondered who i spoke with. I do not have an issue with how much it costs to perform the oil change and I understand the costs of owning a high end BMW. My issue was being misquoted. twice. I would have paid the higher amount but feel that i should have been quoted the right amount when I gave my vehicle information both times. After speaking with Doug and Billy though, they made it clear on what i was charged and went over some maintenance items and facts on fluids and usage in the vehicle which made sense. The person who quoted me the oil change simply did not quote for an "M' vehicle. simple mistake... Not only that... Doug refunded me the $50 difference!! That to me shows these guys care about customer service, repeat customers and customer experiences which goes a long way in my book! Ill be back for sure.. Thanks guys! read more

These guys are fantastic! I cannot say enough good things. I recently had my VW Jetta repaired by Paddock after getting rear ended and the work they did was phenomenal. I mainly corresponded with Doug, and he was extremely responsive, helpful, and easy to deal with. The body work on my car was perfect and they even went so far as to wash my car!!! Seriously outstanding service. While I can't really speak to how they are with billing (because I had the insurance company deal directly with Paddock) I can't imagine these guys would be anything less than fully honest and transparent. It is quite refreshing to meet/work with such genuine people, especially when it comes to body repair shops. When it came time to pick up my car, which I had to do late on a Saturday, they made it extremely easy by having my keys in a lock box ready to go. After having my car mis-diagnosed at the dealership, Doug took the time to recognize that the original diagnostic code was masking much bigger issues with my trans-axle and took the warranty company (who were not going to cover the repair initially) to task for the repair. After the representative appeared at Paddock Imports, Doug impressed upon him how the diagnostic code was misleading, the warranty representative recognized the issue and my car was repaired to my satisfaction. I cannot say enough about Doug Paddock and Paddock Imports. You will not find a better, more honest, hard working mechanic anywhere. I won't bore everyone with the long story but after SEVERAL trips to Murray Motors and thousands and thousands of dollars spent with no resolution to my problem - I had enough of the dealer. I was basically paying them to guess and go figure . . . they kept guessing wrong. Luckily I found Doug. Doug basically took my car for several days, looked at everything and finally fixed my problem at a VERY reasonable price. He worked so hard on my car and didn't charge me for hours and hours and hours of investigation work. I guarantee that if I was still going to Murray I would have another enormous bill and they would have never found this issue. The issue on my car had been going on for probably 6 - 8 months. Now my 2007 BMW335 drives like it's brand new and it has 70k miles. If you are nervous about buying an import because of the cost of maintenance don't think another minute about it - Doug takes care of his clients and is incredibly fair and reasonable. If you have a nagging problem that the dealers can't find, Doug and his team work really hard to figure it out and again the charges are fair. Wife got an oil change at this place in MAR2016. While driving the car home, she had catastrophic engine failure and the turbo somehow broke in the process as well. When this happened, Paddock said they would only pay for labor only and I had to fork out 4K to get the car fixed. (MAR2016 - $4,020.88 - I paid for parts, Engine, and turbo.) Fast forward to July of 2017 - the engine had to be replaced three times and there were numerous other issues that were "fixed" as well. In total, we spent well over 6K at the shop for nine thousands miles of use on a 2006. (and the car still isn't fixed) Pretty frustrating as my wife was without a car for months on end. While waiting for the fourth engine, the car was at their shop for an extended period of time. Numerous times we called for a SITREP and got no answer or call back. Finally spoke with the owner directly via phone on 31JUL2017. The owner told me that he finally got a working engine in the car but it was only taking longer because the fuel pump now has issues but not to worry because he doesn't care how much it costs the shop, reassuring me he would make this right. Eventually pick the car up, it smells heavily of gas while driving so once again we have to drop it off at the shop to get "fixed". (thoroughly believing this time it would be free of charge) Pick the car up a bit later through a painfully negotiated and unexpected $400 bill. Got the car back...within one week it was dead lined again. Wouldn't start. Sold the thing as is for almost no money. TL DR: Dealing with this shop was an ineffable nightmare. There are times where I think about what happened with this shop and I physically get sick to my stomach. read more

I was referred to Doug by a really good friend. It turns out , it was the worst recommendation to date. I was without my car for 3 WEEKS waiting for Doug. He never called me to give me updates, I was extremely patient with him assuming he was busy with customers. I instead had to call him, and he would tell me he did not have the part yet, or he didn't have an answer. I informed Doug that I was graduating and needed my car he responded "that was not his problem and to get a rental car". When I would call he would give me multiple excuses as to why he had not order the part, or what holiday held the part from coming several days and I had not been given an estimate of the charges! It was a disaster. Two weeks into this headache I requested to pick up my vehicle. Once I arrived with my mother, Doug was very rude, patronizing, and condescending. He said I could not drive the car because pieces had been taken out so I would need to get it towed (which should have been communicated during our phone conversation). At this point I was frustrated and in tears, and allowed my white mother to take over. She told Doug he had a week to complete the work. Which he did without providing us with a phone call, we of course had to call him. The bill was over priced, (spoke with other mechanics) and The day I picked up my car, there was a leak in my radiator. Doug's customer service and quality of his "repairs" were terrible. same old Nissan (2001) wouldn't start and got it towed to Paddock. I had no idea what to expect moneywise and I knew it was a long shot getting it back in 2 days because they already had a full schedule car wise for that day. They were able to look at it by the end of that day. Told me it had nothing to do with the battery...that was fine so don't bother with it now. Needed a starter motor and some fan belt work and they could have it ready by 2pm the next day. The cost was half what I had anticipated. This auto body shop continues to surprise me...in a good way! I hope to not be back again soon, but at least I know who to call. read more

Also immediately assumed that there would be more issues than what I was just getting the error for and come to find out that he was incorrect about these (setting me up for unnecessary "fixes" and a higher bill? based on other comments it wouldn't surprise me) also made some comment about how many cars he was fixing with similar issues right now and how much money it was making him. Today I had my first experience with the paddock imports and I have to say that they have earned my business in the future. I'd recently gone to shomp mini to deal with a warning light on my mini Cooper. Schomp basically said that I had about $3000 of work that should be done and I elected to do the things besides my warning light issue as that $1600 problem was a hard pill to swallow. Months went by and I decided to try to find someone else who could fix my problem and that's when I came to Paddock. I spoke to Doug who said he would look at my vehicle for free and let me know if what Schomp was saying really made sense. Needless to say, Doug took the time to look at my vehicle and run a test on it and tell me that the right thing to do was give me back my car without a charge. As far as he could tell, everything was fine and contact him if I had any issues. This isn't how it's always going to be but the honesty that he gave me has earned my future loyalty to Paddock. Just for a bit of background, I have used both local BMW dealers and other indies for BMW maintenance and repairs over the last 8 years, and recently discovered Paddock Imports. Doug and his team are good listeners and then provide thoughtful and reasonable approaches for service. Prices are better than the dealers, but maybe more importantly, they are interested in the best solution, and won't just sell you a repair. In any case, you should take time to make a decision on your mechanic, and I recommend that you call Doug or Jamie and just spend time talking with them to get comfortable. They did work on my VW. Changed a water pump and didn't do it right I have a slow leak from my thermostat housing which they installed. I notice it two months later which is not too crazy considering it is a slow coolant leak. Contacted them about it and they have a 30 day warranty and wanted to charge me just to look at it. Bad experience as soon as I got my car back they didn't finish the job hoses weren't fully connected I had to go back in because the radiator fan was hitting a hose they didn't properly connect. 30 day warranty is ridiculous. They can't stand behind their own work. read more

I have only taken my X5 here once, but I was definitely pleased with the work. They repaired the hydraulic issue, changed the oil, replaced a wiper and gave me some excellent advice. The remote control should be placed as far away from the car as possible, with the doors locked so the car will go to "sleep" and not drain the battery. This advice helped and I really appreciated it. Paddock's prices are comparable to the other BMW shops I've visited and they seem to take pride in their work. read more

Having been an aircraft maintainer for the better part of 15 years now, I am fully aware of the fact that when it comes to working on anything mechanical or electrical (magical, some would say), ball park figures are the best your going to get as far as time and money are concerned.. the only true measure of a good mechanic is "was it done safely, properly, and as effectively as it could be". And by that standard, paddock did a great job. I had a laundry list of upgrades done to my 2006 cooper s, and I have to say, it's more impressive than I thought, by a mile. Not a 12 second mile, but a very fast one for an 11 year old mini. The gents at paddock were always on top of where my car was in the process, and they seem knowledgeable as far as upgrading these first gen minis, which many seem not to be. The money was right where I expected for good work. The time frame was 3 days longer than estimated, but mechanical, so best guess is always a guess. They held onto all of my original parts, and even disposed of the ones I didn't want anymore (that cam is going to make a sweet lamp). They ordered a part that I had incorrectly bought, and installed it without noticeably extending the time to get my car back. Frankly, if they had given me a window decal, I would have been happy to put it on my rear window. Moral of the story here is knowledgeable mechs, helpful staff, and appropriately priced. And, if you see a white 06 mini with big ass rally lights on the front, and 2 small aircraft decals on the rear window, just know, it's escaped from the Paddock.... read more

This place is great. They work insanely fast and also work really hard to get you in and out as soon as possible. I also really appreciate that they will do whatever they can to get you in the shop when you need them. I've always found their pricing to be extremely fair, especially for the high quality work. You can count on this place to be honest with you and provide the truth on your car, so I'd trust them 110% which is important especially when you are talking German cars. Id also highly recommend this place for pre-purchase inspection (ppi) if you are looking to buy a German car. Anyhow, overall really nice genuine people with a love for the cars and their customers.
