I've rented paddleboards from a few different businesses in Colorado, and NONE of them are as friendly, helpful, or affordable, as Paddle Board at the Comedy Overlook. They include life jackets and a waterproof watch in addition to the paddleboard and paddle. They have even lent out lifejackets to my friends in the cases where they bring their own boards but forget their personal floatation device. At no charge! (Unlike the gruff folks that run the rental out of the shipping container down at the water). They've kindly (and without charge) lent me waterproof bag for my personal items, and also a waterproof phone case which is super helpful. On more than one occassion they've even let us park for free on their property, which saves us the expense and hassle of parking in one of the county pay lots. Keep in mind that they ask to hold your keys so they can move vehicles if needed; it's basically like free valet. I don't know if this service is always available or always free, but they've always treated me well. I love renting from them for a great day on the water. Thanks Comedy Overlook! read more

This would be the only spot i would rent boards from for horsetooth lake! They set up a online reservation system because of Covid for this summer but they are doing some walk ups as well. reserving online will guarantee your board though and you can pay beforehand and sign the waiver online. so totally contactless. The staff is all VERY Helpful and friendly. i brought my family and also friends of my daughter several times over the summer. they let me borrow a lifevest for my board. I had my own but the kids were all doing rentals with them. That was extremely kind to lend me a vest. Horsetooth requires life vests to be on the board or you can get a ticket. They have a video you watch when you first grab your board and then away you go for whatever length of time you have paid for. Mondays and Tuesdays have a super deal on their rates or at least they did this season. Along with the board, they give you the life vest to use and you can also use a waterproof pouch to put your phone in. We have been extremely happy with our board rentals. They are easy to work with and provide excellent customer service! Highly recommend comedy overlook! Personally when i rent a board i will not be going to anyone else around the lake ;) Its them or no one. read more

If you EVER need to rent a SUP, this is the place to do it. Tracy and her family were extraordinarily kind, accommodating, and thoughtful! We were 10 minutes late and they ended up giving us an extra 20 minutes on the SUPs by starting us at the next half hour slot. They gave us croakies to use so we wouldn't lose our sun glasses and had sun screen available if anyone forgot it. Also, they are located right next to the launch spot which made getting the SUPs to and from the stand a breeze! The short instructional video was informative and hit all the important tips you'd want to know as a first timer - we had been before and even picked up a couple new tips! We had a great time! But did feel unsafe with all the boaters on a Saturday. They got super close several times when we exited the cove and are going so fast. I feel like it would be nice if they roped off a section for the paddleboarders. Also the video didn't show anything about lake/boating etiquette or wearing a life vest which are two crucial topics that should be at least discussed or mentioned especially with all the boats around. read more

This place is extremely easy to find and a surprisingly low price. You watch a short video and off to the Reservoir you go. During the week I paid $20 for two individuals for 1 hr paddle boarding ($10 per hour per person). The staff was genuine and helpful. You can leave your items in a cubby and you can use a water cover for your phone at no additional cost. You can't beat the price, location and friendliness. read more

From Austin TX, first visit to Fort Collins. These guys were super nice and friendly. Let us borrow water proof pouches for our phones, gave the kids stickers and water. I highly recommend you give them a try. Plus their prices were half of the other paddle board places around. Hands down my favorite small business to support in Fort Collins! This awesome, family owned company will give you a quick and short lesson before you get out on the water which is super helpful. They are so accommodating, professional, very friendly.....and fun! We just love going here, thank you comedy overlook for providing such a wonderful service and fun atmosphere with SUP rentals! Paddle Board @ The Comedy Outlook is a great place to rent paddle boards. They're located beyond the beach on the north end of Horsetooth. I've rented boards with them 4 times now, and I've appreciated they're excellence and competitive rates. Paddle boarding has become my favorite summer activity since moving out here. I have rented from a couple of places when going to horsetooth but tried this place for the first time today. The prices are fantastic and their service is perfect. They have everything you could possibly need, they have a demo on how to paddle board if you have never done it before, and they are very friendly people.
