Christy Sports in Fort Collins stands out because it focuses on real ski and mountain performance…read morebrands, not just generic outdoor clothing. You'll find serious ski apparel labels like Helly Hansen, The North Face, Bogner, 686, Armada, Cotopaxi, Kari Traa, Obermeyer, Spyder, Smartwool, and Patagonia. These brands are known for technical ski jackets, waterproof shells, base layers, and insulation built for real alpine conditions, which is why people who actually ski in Colorado recognize them immediately. They also carry top-tier ski and snowboard equipment brands that serious riders trust, including Atomic, Blizzard, Black Crows, Rossignol, Salomon, K2, Nordica, Head, Volkl, Fischer, Dynastar, and Lib Tech. That combination of high-end apparel and performance gear is what sets Christy Sports apart from many other outdoor stores in the area. It's not trying to be everything for everyone. It's a focused mountain outfitter where skiers and snowboarders can find the brands and expertise they actually need.

I was lucky enough to be met by an associate named Uli right as I walked in. I purchased ski boots…read morehere a few seasons ago, and it was time for some adjustments. Uli readily listened to my concerns, was determined to make my boots right, and did not make the process feel rushed at all despite it being a very busy time of year. He was endlessly knowledgeable and let me pick his brain about boots and skiing, was kind, an excellent communicator, friendly, and very professional. Uli had me thinking about this tremendously positive exchange all the way home and how grateful I was for him to take the time and effort so that I could ski comfortably in my boots. Thanks to Uli's outstanding customer service, I will definitely be back in the store should I need any further assistance or gear. Thank you SO much!!! Well done!

I had heard about Scheels for years but never stepped inside one. A friend of mine from Minnesota…read moreused to drive past the huge Scheels billboards whenever I visited, and for some reason I assumed it was more of a farm supply type place where people bought machinery and work clothes. Because of that completely wrong assumption, I never bothered to go in. Fast forward a few years and after reading the reviews here in Colorado I finally decided I had to see it for myself. Yesterday, March 6th, the weather was miserable. Cold, windy, light snow and rain. Not the kind of day you want to be outside, let alone skiing. So I figured it was the perfect day to finally give Scheels a try. I ended up spending five hours in the store and taking more than 250 photos, and this place absolutely blew my mind. There were sports and equipment sections I didn't even know existed. The store truly has everything you could possibly need and then some. What impressed me most was the staff. They were knowledgeable and helpful but didn't hover every five seconds like some stores do, which allowed me to really explore and absorb everything. The shoe selection was outstanding with every kind of running shoe, ski boot, work boot and outdoor footwear you could imagine, and the shoe staff were clearly well trained helping customers. I also spent about 45 minutes in the luggage section, which was surprisingly impressive. It's clearly a curated department run by someone who truly understands travel. I spoke with a luggage specialist who I believe is from Asia and a serious world traveler herself. She was incredibly knowledgeable and immediately understood what I meant when I told her I was tired of hard-sided luggage and wanted something built for an active lifestyle. She introduced me to a beautiful 100-liter Patagonia rolling duffel with durable wheels, strong zippers, and soft-sided construction that can actually handle real travel. These types of bags come with lifetime guarantees on the wheels and zippers, and now I'm officially saving my pennies to buy one. The store itself was alive and buzzing with families, couples, hunters, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts everywhere. The only section that felt a little thin was the women's golf apparel where most of the XS sizes were gone, while the men's golf section was very well stocked. Parking was plentiful and easy. Scheels isn't just a sporting goods store. It's an experience.

Sporting goods, beef jerky buffet, and dippin dots what more can a boy ask for…read more I never even heard of this place until I saw all the college kids wearing these strange "scheels" tee shirts at the CSU rams football game and thought, I need to check this place out. Colorado gifts, Denver broncos, nuggets, and avalanche collectibles. Hunting, fishing, guns, ammo, knives, barbecue supplies, a sportsman's dream come true. I was blown away by the customer service, kindness, and kindness professionalism of these owner-operators. I just wish it were a little closer to my house.

First day I'm Colorado and I got a very warm greeting from Madison. She was super helpful in…read moregetting me clothes and gear I need for my first 14er... which I accomplished the next morning She was very professional, passionate, and positive about helping me find what I need. Not to mention she was quick with her suggestions which saved me some time also. Thank you Madison for going above and beyond for helping me be prepared. You def need a raise!! Once Madison got me prepared for me 14er I told her I wanted to go backpacking too so she connected me with Danny. And he was answering all my questions and got me a nice backpack. Unfortunately they didn't have any tents that I wanted so I wasn't able to grab tents. But I got a super sweet back pack and all my gear for a 14er. Thank you Madison and Danny(:

I have lived in the state a long time, nearly my whole life and have never been to REI until today…read more Last year i did a couple of online orders with them because my daughter took up climbing and she needed some gear. I opted to become a member for $20 which is lifetime and you get to have a percentage kickback beginning of march each year if you spend money. REI online is pretty nice. You can find anything you could possibly want. If you order over $50 they can direct ship to you at no cost. I only shopped on there a few times last fall. Today was my first visit into the store. They had hand sanitizer outside if you feel like you need it. Curbside pick up spaces. A person at the front door to help point you in the direction you need to go if you are like me and need help. The climbing expert was friendly and answered all the questions i had. I had ordered some climbing shoes online for myself and unfortunately they did not fit. I was taking them into REI to exchange them for something else that did fit. I was grateful that the local store was able to refund verses my having to ship back and get a refund that way. They had quite a variety of climbing shoes in stock. Though not the size of the shoe i wanted. They ended up ordering the new shoe in for me and it is going to be shipped to my house. They had a lot of other climbing supplies as well. (and I am sure many other things) Though climbing was all i looked at. The cashier was friendly and helpful. The store was clean. While i can't afford to shop here on a regular basis. I wish i could lol. Lots of great stuff, for a bit of a spendy price but they will have what you want. Hence the 4. If their prices were just a little bit lower they would get a 5.
