This was my very first time visiting REI, and I honestly wish I'd stopped in years ago. I recently got into hiking and plan on doing the Colorado Trail this summer, so I've been slowly gathering the gear I need -- and this store is a dream for anyone who loves the outdoors.
The moment I walked in, I could tell this place was different. The employees don't just sell gear... they actually do the activities they're talking about! They're extremely knowledgeable, super friendly, and genuinely excited to help. Whether you're a beginner or experienced, they make you feel welcome.
The store itself is huge and so well organized. They have every brand of sleeping bag, tents of all kinds, the cutest and most functional outdoor clothing, and tons of boots and hiking shoes. Their sales section is great too -- lots of solid deals.
They also offer a membership for $30 that comes with discounts, perks, and a bunch of benefits that easily pay for themselves if you're active outdoors. But even if you're not a member, the gear is still top-notch and worth buying.
If you snowboard, ski, bike, hike, camp -- honestly, any outdoor activity at all -- REI has you covered. I'm officially obsessed, and this will definitely be my go-to store as I prep for the Colorado Trail!
Last but not least, I want to do a special shout out to sarah. And brian, who were this store associates that helped me and they were amazing read more
