    The drive in

We did the full day raft trip, and would highly recommend this ride on the Colorado river for a more chill day. Our driver, Gunter, had an incredible knowledge on the Rocky Mountain national park, and the surrounding areas. (We even stopped halfway through the drive for a rest stop) Our raft guide Gabby made the ride fun and she also had a lot of knowledge for the area. The sandwiches they had were delicious, the drive in was breathtaking. This was a great first rafting trip, and seems very suitable for families. Definitely would recommend.

Logan was our guide and was amazing. Ask for him or Kumar! Both experienced and fun to be with on the river.

So much fun, we didn't want it to end! We went in completely nervous but instantly felt at ease thanks to our amazing guide. The views on the river were amazing and even though the water was 42 degrees it was comfortable. Highly recommend!

This place is top notch from the folks on the phone through the guide on the raft. I want to acknowledge 2 people in particular. The first is Gordon. He was the driver that took us from Estes Park to the river. He could easily have just been a driver, but he was much more. He entertained us all the way to and from the river with his knowledge of the area. He pointed out interesting things along the way, and would add interesting stories. He also kept us laughing with his humor. The second is Leo, our guide for the trip. This guy is amazing. He can handle that raft and make it do what he wants. As I sat in the back of the boat with him, I got to see how hard he really worked. The people sitting in front don't have any idea about how hard he works to make sure they have a great trip. Besides all his hard work, he has a wealth of knowledge about the river. He is also a very funny and entertaining guy. Ask to be on his raft. The trip itself is over way too fast. We covered 9 and a half miles in about 2 hours. It was so much fun that everybody in our group wanted to do it for a full day. Things that make it such a great trip include the beautiful scenery and the exhilaration of the rapids. Rapids exist for nearly the entire trip. Most of them fall into class 2 or 3. However, class 4 and 5 also exist. Due to the experience level of our group, we had to go around the class 5 rapids. Our group did a lot of fun things on this trip to Estes Park. However, everybody had the white water raft trip as the most fun of all the things we did.

    Be prepared to get wet.

We chose the COLORADO RIVER trip thinking we would get more rapids than we actually did, but the scenery was so beautiful that did not matter. Our guide driving was John that gave us so much information about the wildlife, local history and recommendations while visiting Estes Park. He made that 2 1/2 hour road trip go by quicker. Our boat guide was Ben. Definitely two individuals with a wealth of knowledge about the area and terrain/water. One of the advantages of the full day trip, you do get an awesome lunch spread on the river. If you are looking for real rapids to paddle through, you may want to choose the 1/2 day trip they offer. CACHE LA POUDRE RIVER is a 1/2 day trip. We will probably do that next year.

When we arrived to the river access we were greeted by a handsome figure drifting through the sky. What was this figure you may ask? It was none other than the mystical, dashing, macho, and most of all, charming river guide Logan being escorted by a flock of three of the most patriotic and charismatic bald eagles this country has ever seen. As the eagles landed and dropped off our humble guide, the gave him each a salute as sign of the utmost respect for the mountain man. I believe I even saw the eagle shed a tear of happiness as he flew away, an effect Logan has on many animals, people, and even emotional plants on occasion. Once Logan had landed by the humble river van, my group and I approached to start our trip. Before we made the 50 foot journey from our car to the van, Logan had finished his workout consisting of 3 sets of 200 curls for each arm. We greeted the man and I must say, I have truly never been graced by the presence of such a humble, respectful, and kind man. Suddenly, as we were exchanging pleasantries and backstories, a rogue grizzly bear approached and it was obvious he was looking for a fight. It was clear the bear was intimidated by Logan and felt the need to challenge the alpha male. Before the bear could strike, Logan jumped on his back, gave him a slap or two on his bottom, kissed his forehead, rode him like a horse around the parking lot and finally sent him on his way without skipping a beat. Rumor has it Logan and the bear are pen pals to this day. Despite this debacle, Logan never ceased our conversation and continued on thanks to his superhuman ability to stay calm during stressful situations. We set out on our excursion and were met by not only the best tour guide, but also a world class historian. I had already learned about his world championship in snake charming but to find out he's also a champion local Colorado river historian was almost too good to be true. If I didn't know any better I would think that Logan has perfected time travel and was actually born centuries ago, giving him first hand experience to all of his stories on the river. Now, I'm not saying that happened, but it wouldn't be the craziest Logan story I've ever heard. The rest of the journey was marvelous and consisted of great rapids, numerous animals encounters, and beautiful scenery, all of which had been hand crafted by Logan. I simply do not have the words to express all of the joy this trip and our guide have brought me and I hope to be blessed by his presence once more.

We had a party of 10: 7 adults & 3 kids and we all had such a great time. Quick heads up for those planning to make a trip here - our check in time was 8:30am and we didn't get on the water until about 10-10:30am. During that time, the staff gears you up with equipment and very important information before heading out to the water. After that, the bus drive over to the water is about 25 mins. You're out on the water for about 1.5 hours - and we got back around 12:30-12:45pm. This is really important for anyone planning time wise! All staff members were incredibly kind and helpful! Our guide on the bus was Emily and was such a joy to have, not to mention, absolutely hilarious! Our boat guide was Joe, who we absolutely adored! He had such high spirit and also had a bunch of great facts throughout the ride. Every single one of us thoroughly enjoyed our time and we hope to do this again next time we are in CO, and especially under better circumstances. Highly recommended!

You fill out the wavier paperwork, get a speech from one of the workers, and go through the line to your life jacket and paddle. They also have shoes for rent if you need them. The bus ride to the launch point is about 30 minutes. The staff do their best to keep everyone entertained while your on the bus; telling jokes, telling you facts about landmarks, and the local area. When you get to the launch point it's about another 15 minutes before you get on your raft. They go through another 5-7 minute speech about the water, how to maneuver, and all the safety stuff (just in case crap goes wrong). Then they split you up into groups and you load the raft. We truly had a blast on the raft and I never felt like I was at risk of injury, or unsafe through the entire ride. From start to finish it was about a 2 hour trip; but it went by really fast. I could have rode the river for at least another 1-2 hours. It was super chill and some of the rough waters (class II and III) didn't last long but made the ride very exciting. We did stop for about 30 minutes at a point where you can jump off a cliff. There is a 25 foot cliff as well as a small jump spot for kids (my 4 year old jumped from the small spot). I did go up to the 25 foot jump (along with about 30 other people). Jumping was not a problem at all because you walk up to the edge and simply walk off for the jump. They don't give you anytime to look around, think, or get scared. 30 people jumped off in less than 7-8 minutes. It felt great!! The ride back to the main store was much shorter; about 15 minutes. Overall we had a great time and it was well worth it.

They have a strict age requirement of 14 and our 12 year old made that a challenge. Having done class 3-4 at Royal Gorge I would say this did not disappoint. It was constant and continuous adventure. I would have loved to kept going longer but like all good things they do come to an end. The 1.5 hours was mot too short either don't get me wrong. If you are scared of the cold don't cheap out--get the extra gear to make your experience better. My wife and kids did the gear. Since we were here in July in the water at noon I toughed it out. Don't vet me wrong it was cold and at times what I would have done to be warm. I feel the cold splash is a part of the experience. Sitting in the front I was also glad for a pair of sunglasses. They say this is some of the best rafting they have had in awhile. What really made this exemplary was the staff. They made you all feel like family. Zak in particular was our favorite. He gave the right balance of safety and firmness needed for a guide. He also helped my 70 year old mother in law work through her fears and continue with getting in the raft. She was reluctant as she only has one hand. Zak calmed her and gave her options. My kids also loved the bus driver Max. Not so sure they loved him ao much it was more his dog Willow. I had read Stephen Kings book The Shining when I was way too young and it absolutely terrified me like it should have. When the movie came out, I really enjoyed it but you can never replicate the book. Visiting this old and historic somewhat haunted hotel, I was ready to learn more about the imagination of Stephen King. His staying here many years ago brought about the inspiration to write the book. Although no filming took place here for the movie, the mini series was filmed here in 1997. We began the tour within the hotel and we had a fairly new tour guide all the way from Turkey. Unfortunately, I forgot his name but he was was well spoken, funny and informative. My favorite part of the tour was visiting the renovated caretakers cottage. It was decorated with period furniture and pictures of the original family that took care of the Stanley Hotel many years ago. I couldn't believe there was a 100 year old Victrola that still worked. Our guide was kind enough to play it for us. Upstairs they have recreated the Shining Suite which included a bed, the famous patterned Shining carpet and of course the bathroom from Room 237. Just walking in the bathroom took me back to that particular chapter of the book. REDRUM! Pricing for the tour was $30 and you can purchase tickets online. This was the only option available because it was September and water levels were too low for the other higher class trips. Regardless, we had a blast and our guide Keagan was amazing. After checking in at the office, it was about a 20-25 minute van ride to the launch site. After going through safety instructions, we were on our way down the river. It was a really mellow section with very little actual "whitewater rafting", and more of a float. Keagan was spitting off facts and talking to everyone the whole time which was great. Very informative and personable. Along the way we stopped at a natural hot spring and everyone got out of the rafts and "warmed up" in the warm water. Right after that, we hopped back in the rafts and floated just a little further down to a cliff jumping spot. I can't remember how high it was (approx 40-50ft?) but 5 of us did it. Keagan jumped too, and gave us all instructions on jumping safely. After that the trip wrapped up pretty quickly, loaded everything into the van and headed back.
