Can't say enough great things about a super fun day! Mary and Ethan were excellent guides and instructors and we were well- prepared before going on the water. Class I-III rapids were perfect for our group and the weather was outstanding! Love this experience and will definitely use RMA again!

Also the process to buy pictures was absolutely ridiculous. There was no organization in it at all. We had to sit and watch slideshows to find what number pic ours was to buy. Seems like there is a way to make that an easier process for your customers. Would most definitely do again from this company but I do believe they could make some improvements on the photography and the way pictures are sold.

He talked us into doing a tad more vigorous rapid, (he wasn't trying to upsell us, but we were the only two that selected the lesser rapids and he was just letting us know that we would be getting off the river and rejoining. It was easier for everyone if we just stayed on the entire time.) We both enjoyed it thoroughly. Our guide, (his name escapes me, sorry! I know he is from Salida), was unbelievable and so accommodating of my daughter the entire time, making sure she was okay. He was SO nice and friendly and really funny. He also pointed out local points of interest that was pretty interesting. This is a great place and is the only place that I would go through for rafting in Fort Collins.

You can choose wet suits, dry jackets etc... It was 75 degrees in July here so our family split between wet suits and dry jackets. The latter was the better choice. You take a 30 minute school bus ride and some quick safety instructions (thanks Erico!) And then get assigned to your boat. Ours included 8 of us and a guide. Honestly that was too much but okay. Our guide was Tristan who was fantastic. Funny and engaging with fun facts along the way. But more importantly you could tell he was taking safety seriously. We did the browns canyon ride and it was a good mix of slightly challenging for the kids and fun for the adults. All in all it was a great way to spend half a day!

When you arrive to…read moretheir store location it's about 30 minutes of admin stuff before you load the buses to head for the launch point. You fill out the wavier paperwork, get a speech from one of the workers, and go through the line to your life jacket and paddle. They also have shoes for rent if you need them. The bus ride to the launch point is about 30 minutes. The staff do their best to keep everyone entertained while your on the bus; telling jokes, telling you facts about landmarks, and the local area. When you get to the launch point it's about another 15 minutes before you get on your raft. They go through another 5-7 minute speech about the water, how to maneuver, and all the safety stuff (just in case crap goes wrong). Then they split you up into groups and you load the raft. We truly had a blast on the raft and I never felt like I was at risk of injury, or unsafe through the entire ride. From start to finish it was about a 2 hour trip; but it went by really fast. I could have rode the river for at least another 1-2 hours. It was super chill and some of the rough waters (class II and III) didn't last long but made the ride very exciting. We did stop for about 30 minutes at a point where you can jump off a cliff. There is a 25 foot cliff as well as a small jump spot for kids (my 4 year old jumped from the small spot). I did go up to the 25 foot jump (along with about 30 other people). Jumping was not a problem at all because you walk up to the edge and simply walk off for the jump. They don't give you anytime to look around, think, or get scared. 30 people jumped off in less than 7-8 minutes. It felt great!! The ride back to the main store was much shorter; about 15 minutes. Overall we had a great time and it was well worth it.

Be prepared to be paired up with other families who may talk your ear off and miss commands from the guide. That got a little frustrating since we were literally there to raft only. The scenery is gorgeous and they are accommodating. be prepared to pay extra for anything, of course, as per usual. they also ask for tips which is understandable, so be prepared for that. the bus ride out to the river is long and uncomfortable when sitting next to people you don't know. extroverts' dream come true, but again, if you don't like having your ear talked off, you may want to avoid.

This will be a long, but worthwhile review of this dude ranch. This ranch is located in Livermore,…read moreColorado. It is a hidden gem in North East Colorado not far from the Wyoming border. The ranch is owned by the Prince family, and has been since 1992. They can accommodate over 40 guests, but you would never know that there were that many people in the ranch because their attention to detail and guest obsession is top notch. Everything they do is all about that single guest. All of the ranch hands are top notch. They excel in character, respect, and manners for all of the guests. The ranch activities range from horseback riding, to skeet shooting, to fly fishing and much more. Almost all of those activities are included in the package, except white water rafting and massages. The owners, Christine and Dickie Prince, make sure the experience lives up to each and every guest's expectation. Each horseback ride is different and exciting. The chief wrangler, Madii, paired up each guest with the perfect horse for the week, and honestly, it was a magical week. At the end of the week, they hold a guest rodeo, where each of the guests compete against one another in events like barrel racing, pole bending, and keyhole racing. All in all, it is a very exciting trip. I brought my wife and my two grown children to this ranch and they were drawn in to its charm and, frankly, we were all sad to see the week end. We were treated like family the entire time we were there and have already committed to return next year. While we were there, we discovered this ranch was chosen by USA Today as the #1 dude ranch in America. We researched 14 ranches before picking this one and we agree with USA Today. If you are looking for the perfect family vacation away from the commercialism that is typical of all inclusive vacations, I highly recommend Cherokee Park Ranch. Your family might end the week like mine - missing the comradery, the fun, and the attachments made that will last a lifetime. If I could give this ranch more than 5 stars, I definitely would do so. I don't think you will be disappointed.

This year, I went early season on Clear Creek and loved it so much I came back late season for Gore Canyon- an adrenaline-packed, fun adventure! The day started with a swim test to make sure everyone was prepared before tackling Class V rapids. (Honestly, if you're not a strong swimmer, this trip isn't for you, they do test your swimming in the rapids and throughout the trip over half of the people across our 5 rafts ended up in the water at some point! Additionally this would be quite the dive into the deep end if you've never rafted before!) The trip was an incredible mix of thrills, skill, and crazy beautiful scenery you would not have guessed was there when you drive into Kremmling. Midway through, we stopped for snacks, and when we wrapped up, the crew served a delicious lunch and cold beers (NA options were there too!) such a nice touch after a big day! What sets Liquid Descent apart is the crew. Every guide I've had has been dedicated to making the trip special. I've talked to them and many of them have said they specifically choose to work here because of the company's extra training and the sense of community. I even met the owner yesterday at Gore Canyon, and you can tell the company's passion for customer experience comes directly from the top. Specifically the last 2 guides I've had, Jordan and Malia have been awesome! Yes, most rafting companies use the same put-in/take-out points and similar gear but the experience is what makes the difference. With Liquid Descent, the guides make sure it's the best it can be and their love for their job ensures you're going to have a great time. I've rafted with other companies in locations where liquid descent isnt and know: the right guide changes everything. I was so nervous walking in, but from the moment we arrived, every single staff member made us feel welcomed, safe, and supported. Our guide, Koa, was the perfect balance of fun, kind, and incredibly skilled. He guided us through the rapids with such confidence and ease while also making sure everyone felt safe and included. He checked in on us several times throughout and made sure we were having fun, asked us if we wanted to "spice it up" a bit or keep it mellow and just really let us know this was "our" trip and he's cater to what we wanted. I quickly found myself letting go of fear and enjoying the moment... something I didn't expect would happen. Koa's energy was contagious, and his calm, respectful nature made us feel like we were in the best hands possible. At one point on the river, another rafting company had a mishap and we had to pull over and wait for them to recover and get their riders back into the raft safely. Koa explained what had happened with total grace - no judgment, no gossip - just a calm and respectful explanation. He also spoke so kindly of his own coworkers and even the owner of Liquid Descent. You could tell he genuinely cares about the rafting community and takes pride in his work and LOVES his Liquid Descent family! Every employee we encountered was friendly, encouraging, and helpful - from getting us fitted with helmets and life jackets to cheering us on as we headed out. As someone who started out nervous, that kind of supportive vibe made a huge difference. They encouraged me, and they helped me push past my comfort zone in the best way possible. What a GREAT memory! We will remember this day not only for the thrill of the rapids, but for the kindness and heart of the people who guided us through it! If you are considering rafting in Colorado, go with Liquid Descent. I'm so glad we did!
