I got certified in The Crater in Utah, and it was such a beautiful experience I'll never forget. 100% recommended, I wouldn't change my experience for anything!

The girls that were able to go today also all really enjoyed themselves! What a great experience! I can't wait for my other girls to be able to try it. And my daughter is now interested in getting scuba certified as well! Great job Ocean First! Thank you so much for everything!

Julie was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure to make us all feel comfortable with the variety of skills we needed to know to safely dive for the first time. I felt very prepared from the pool sessions she led to be able to do my open water certification and sessions out in Hawaii. I wasn't able to finish out my certification through Ocean First due to time constraints, but the Dive Instructor out in Hawaii was incredibly impressed with my proficiency underwater, stating that if I hadn't been signed up for the course, they would have assumed I was a much more experienced diver. I lend much of that to the great instruction I had here in the pool. I cannot recommend the course enough and certainly suggest everyone who wants to learn to dive to stop by.

I've had many review courses over the years and typically you suit up and get in the pool, practice buoyancy, mask clearing and buddy breathing. PADI requires only those three skills for the course and it's fun, but this instructor told me and the one other guy in the class at the outset he didn't believe in that and would test us on all 20 skills on their list and if we didn't like it we should leave now. After we'd paid. We spent the next 2.5 hours in the deep end of a 78 degree pool. It was like army basic training. And when I said I hadn't signed up to take all my gear off and put it back on while treading water he said I was whining. Go to Oceans First, much better.

Ocean First maintains its pool and lesson business in their north Boulder location. But the cooperation here with the Dream Weaver team allows one stop shopping when you need a gear refresh or products for an upcoming trip. That is what my husband needed to do today after speaking with Dream Weaver first. He needed to refresh his supply of reef safe sun block for an upcoming trip. There are plenty of gear options in this shop as well as brochures for dive locations around the world. There are many organized trips arranged by Ocean First too. Note that this is a separate business that was formerly Weaver's Dive shop, the retail side only has changed hands. There is less retail stock here now because they have the original Ocean First retail and pool at another location. Yelp has merely merged the reviews for the retail businesses.

My husband and I have always been interested in scuba diving, but we didn't take the plunge (see…read morewhat I did there) until early 2025. We're so grateful we got connected with Denver Divers through their adaptive diving program. Even though I've had an interest in scuba diving, I was really nervous to actually try it. I was able to attend a Try Scuba event at Denver Divers, and was immediately hooked (see what I did again). I was paired with an instructor who explained the basics of diving, had time to try out the diving in the pool, and was able to ask questions afterwards. Once we decided to proceed, we were paired with an instructor, Vince, who put as totally at ease about diving. We were given an online training program, in person classes, and two training sessions. I felt comfortable asking questions and learning from my mistakes. I felt super prepared by the time I was getting certified. We ended up taking a group trip and got open water certified in Honduras. I ended up doing 23 dives and built some new core memories. It was wild to see all the different marine life (including a friendly little shark), to see coral up close, and to explore a shipwreck. On top of all of this, we also have started to build our community of divers. All of the instructors are so passionate about diving and really enjoy teaching others how to safely dive. We are looking forward to staying connected and to more future group dive trips.

We especially appreciate how patient she is with our son on days when he's not as excited about swimming or wants to test boundaries. Megan stays calm, consistent, and keeps realistic expectations while gently following through with directions and the skills they're working on. Her steady and encouraging approach has made such a difference. We're so grateful for the positive environment they've created and highly recommend Denver Divers to families looking for quality swim instruction. ‍
