Parents and caretakers, please read this before registering your child at Splash Swim School! I had two kids registered there until recently, when in the pool during a lesson, my 3-year-old's hands slipped off the wall where he could not stand and he submerged underwater without the instructor, Ashley, even noticing. He could not get to the surface on his own and was underwater long enough that my husband and I sprinted onto the pool deck from the waiting room to pull him out of the water. Ashley didn't notice anything until we were on the pool deck with our child out of the water. Furthermore, she didn't even stop the class. She didn't acknowledge the severity of what happened or how she endangered my son. Nor did she apologize or ask how he was. She acted as if nothing happened. Ashley had only three kids in her class that day, so don't be fooled by a low student to instructor ratio. A few days later, the owner Amy called me, only after I requested to speak to her. She did not initiate the call as you would expect an owner would after such a negligent and dangerous incident. Amy did not apologize, did not ask what happened nor did she show any remorse or compassion. She merely said she talked to Ashley and reviewed safety measures with her. Amy, just like Ashley, acted as if nothing happened. Since the incident, there are no enhanced safety measures and Ashley is still employed.
