Stopped here on my lunch break. I ordered the pad Thai and a Thai iced coffee. I've had both numerous times at other Thai restaurants. The cashier asked me how spicy I wanted the pad Thai and I said moderately spicy. I received my food super fast! But the pad Thai was waaaay too spicy, (this was probably my fault) the iced coffee for $3.50 was horrible tho. It tasted like liquor. I've never had Thai iced coffee that tasted so horrible. I asked the same cashier to exchange it and she didn't seem too happy about it. I asked her if I could just have an apple juice ($2)instead, she exchanged them but I never was offered my change back. Food smelled like sh$t!! I have eaten pad thai for a long time and all over the damn place and it is very hard to get perfect with either too much sauce or too ketchupy etc. but ne ver had I had one that smelled like crap! Maybe it was too much white pepper but damn, I couldn't eat it, I complained to the staff, they looked at me like "yeah, what?", I even asked another customer there and they confirmed the crap smell. Staff didn't blink at my complaint about the crap smell and I didnt want to eat it for fear of the squirts later on. I really wanted a good thai place close to home. Yummy! Sometimes a little slow even when calling it in but we still come back because its good. Plus they are good about allergies so I always have to ask whats in things if I decide to try something new and they dont give me a hard time about it which is rare. read more

The decor reminds me of most hole in the wall Asian restaurants. I love it. I ordered laab. Like always lol. Not a fan. It was too chicken flavored if that makes sense. I was told that those pictures are just from the internet so they don't know what it is. I don't know why you would use pictures from the internet of things that you don't have. Been a regular for about 3 years. They have some really good dishes. I like their green curry, garlic lovers. Pad Thai. Jungle lamb, fresh rolls. And their made from scratch wonton soup is a perfect fit if you are under the weather. It's full of veggies, chicken, shrimp, and wontons and made at time of order. They offer "American" spice level here. 3 stars being average, whereas other places like Pattay, 3 stars would melt your stomach lining. I'm allergic to peanuts and while they do use peanut sauce on a couple of dishes, substitutions are available and peanuts do not come standard on pad Thai, nor is it used in its base. This is no doubt my favorite Asian restaurant on the west side of Olympia. When I first started going here the service was very slow but they have really improved on the speed! The atmosphere of the store is a bit dumpy. Its sort of a hole in the wall and not a good place to impress guests. But the food is always fresh and delicious. My fiance and I go there at least 2 times a week or more. We usually order take out. These people are really great. I usually have to special order my dishes because I am a pepper and gluten free girl. I usually order my Prikking with no peppers and my Won Ton soup with chicken instead of won tons. They always accommodate me without any complaints. We shied away from one of our favorite dishes there (the Panang Curry) because they were using frozen veggies instead of fresh veggies. A restaurant of this type should never use frozen veggies in my opinion. But tonight we found out that they can do Panang Curry with FRESH VEGIES instead of frozen. Yah!!!! This dish will now go back on our favorites menu! I truly hate to give them such a good review because I dont want to have to wait longer for my take out but they really do deserve a 5 star review! read more

For a quick meal this isn't bad. They're not about decor but the flavors are pretty authentic. I've tried the beef with basil which I wouldn't get again, the pad Thai which was fair and the golden cashew with house sauce that I've gone back for twice. Prices are moderate. Definitely more then a burger combo but several dollars less then the nicer Thai places. Not bad overall. We used to really love this place! In the beginning the portions were good sizes and the food had excellent flavor. It appears it has changed hands in the last couple of years and the last couple times we've eaten here we have been disappointed. Both my husband an I asked for the spicy #5 on our food (we both ordered the Massaman Curry) and neither of our meals were spicy at all. I've been coming to this place for awhile now. Their food is quite good--I briefly went through an orange chicken phase, and their fried tofu is delicious. Once, however, I did have an issue with the spring rolls (the lettuce was wilted), but I was very relieved when the girl at the register had no problem taking it back and giving me a refund. It should also be noted that they make the food pretty spicy if you request even a 2 on the scale. Apart from that, I still remain completely addicted to their Thai teas. read more

We have been eating here since they opened and it has always been very good. Their business has steadily picked up over time as word has gotten around about how good the food is. Weekend nights are quite busy now, but no more than a 30-40 minute wait that is well worth it. The Prik-King is one of our go to dishes that has amazing flavor. This is more of a take out place, but there is seating. Very casual atmosphere. I don't know why this place currently has less than 4 stars, it does not accurately reflect their popularity or how great the food is. read more

The best fried rice I have ever had I have it every time I come here it fresh and I get the large it about 14 dollars but it worth it I also had there pho and it was awesome and I normally don't like it but this restaurant is worth every dollar you spent and very nice lady's that work there read more

I absolutely love this place! The portions are huge and decently priced. Food is cooked to order and done very quickly. I visit this little restaurant frequently. My favorite dish is ginger broccoli tofu with one of their *fantastic* spring rolls. The food is freshly prepared and quickly served, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. It IS a quite modest atmosphere, so if you crave big city elegance, don't go here. It's a small, no frills, order-at-the-register restaurant in a strip mall. . . that just happens to serve some of the *best* Thai food I've encountered in my travels. Enjoy! read more

Hands down the worst yellow curry I have ever had. It arrived all curdled looking and the flavor was super off. I decided to give it a go and taste it and the tofu which I requested instead of meat was chewy and inedible. The side of rice was crunchy. I went up to see if they can remake it and they didn't seem happy about it. The next batch that came out was a little better in presentation but the flavor was still awful. I went to take a bite and got a bite of chicken. As a looked into the bowl it was like half chicken, half tofu. As a vegetarian, I was not pleased. I had them give me a refund. This is a little place that has just opened close to work. I have eaten here twice now and haven't been disappointed either time. Things I like are the place is clean and the prep area is full open to review and they are FAST! I also like that I don't walk out smelling like a hot grease pot. I have tried the Phad Thai Chicken, the Larb Salad and Panang Curry Beef along with their Fresh Rolls. The peanut sauce is decent but I'm not fond of having my fresh rolls wrapped in plastic because the noodles continue to steam and become too gooey. The Phad Thai is probably my most favorite in Olympia thus far (though I haven't tried Lemongrass as yet.) The sauce they used at Thai Express is yummy and the browner peanutier version rather than the orange sauce; if that helps. It could have a bit more flavor, but it is really good. The Panang Curry Beef is perfection. I've eaten this dish where the veggies were added raw allowing the heat from the base to cook them, which they never do reach the tender crisp stage that this dish needs. The veggies are perfectly cooked, the beef is tender and fresh (and yes I can tell when beef is not fresh) and the curry is not thick and not water thin, it's just perfect. The Larb Salad has only become a favorite of mine and I am fond of theirs because I don't feel as though I just drank a 1/2 cup of oil like some of the other places but they don't cheat you on flavor. This trip they tossed in five gyoza just because they recognized me from last week and wanted to thank me for returning. Okay folks this one deserves a try. read more

Food wise, this place is not good. Despite my better judgment of seeing the word "express" in the name, I went in. I paid $8 for some veggie noodle dish and asked them to make it "Thai spicy, not American spicy" (aka - REALLY spicy). Unfortunately, it was practically tasteless. I went up to the counter and ask for my money back, as there is no way a place with the word "express" in their name should be charging $8 for a noodles and veggie dish that I had to walk up to a counter and order (no service). The gentleman smiled and said, "too spicy" with a smirk on his face. I explained that, it not only wasn't spicy enough but utterly tasteless. He said that he never had anyone complain before me. Although I doubt that, if it is true, it is likely because of the clientele that this "fast food" version of Thai cuisine attracts. The gentleman behind the counter exclaimed that he was Thai, as if this had to do with the meal that I ordered that he did not cook. That's like saying that I am American, which justifies burgers and fries from a fast food joint; when meanwhile I'm vegan. It doesn't connect. Taking pride in your heritage and food is fine...except he didn't cook it. Realizing that he felt that strongly made me wish that he would've cooked my food. Perhaps it would've had the TLC and heat that I was looking for in this food. Even if he would've, the small details were simply not there to make this "Thai". It was such a plain and burred Asian dish that it was truly hard to decide if it was Thai, Chinese or some other Asian country's dish. If you like mall-food court Asian food, you might like this in quick-out quick kind of place that seems to attract young teens, American families who like to believe that this is Thai food and a business lunch rush. If you've ever had real Thai food, you will not be happy. It's Thai food in the sense that a Mc-rib sandwich from mcdonald's is deep south BBQ. Sorry, but for $8 you can get 10 times the Asian cuisine less than a mile away. The place did look clean though. read more

My first time here was great. I ordered the beef pad thai (spicy level two) & it was by far the best pad thai I ever had. There was an equal amount of noodles, veggies, and meat (beef) throughout the dish. The wait time was about 20 minutes due to the fact they were busy. Will stop by again when I'm nearby! read more

Most of the food at this place is both cheap and amazing. I've lived in Thailand and eat at Thai restaurants often, so I'm a fairly good judge of good Thai food. The mango fried rice is excellent, with plenty of pieces of sweet, ripe mango complementing the saltier soy flavors in the rice. The lemongrass shrimp salad has just the right mix of sweet, salty, spicy, and sour and is mixed with fresh Thai basil and lemongrass. We tried the "Swimming Rama" (fresh spinach, peanut sauce, w/tofu or other meat) last night and we all loved it--our 3-year-old daughter ate both the spinach and the tofu. The beef salad is also very good as is most everything else. We're lucky to have this place around!!! read more

The pad Thai was bad, go to the Thai garden down the street for good pad Thai. The interior is reminiscent of a taco del mar, Nickelback playing in the background, and a huge fish tank with nothing in it but cloudy water.
