Shafiaq Khouli and his SK Concrete team built on our back yard a 14' x 14' SPA niche including a…read more12' x 12' x 5" reinforced concrete pad, foundation, drainage, three sides surrounding half high retaining walls and embedded SPA electrical wiring conduit. They also installed footing drain (French drain) on the back retaining wall, backfilled with the usual gravel, crushed stone and covered the outside of the walls with installed paneled stone veneer. They also did the initial former structure demolition, debris hauling and the requested earth moving and other necessary small retaining walls reassembly. It sounds like an easy simple job but, believe me, it got complicated quite soon. Along the construction way, I was able to interact with the crew and bounce ideas and corrections which were followed to my customer satisfaction, resulting in more than a very acceptable final product. When the inevitable, beyond his control, the one odd crew helper misbehavior occurred on the job, this contractor immediately corrected it, got on top of the problem and smoothly and quickly we had no more of an issue here. He also facilitated for me the customer to bring my own tile / stone wall-caps products and installer guys, which ended doing a beautiful job we're very proud of. Pricing fair, not inexpensive. Job done acceptable, with your own (the customer) continuous supervision and being able to stop working crew's irreparable mistakes before they happened, however, the final product came out well built and functional as we imagined and expected, we are grateful for that. Thanks again to Shafiaq and SK Concrete for accepting working on our small home project and for including us in their busy commercial and industrial schedule.

He was able to quote me over the phone, fully explained all the different variables and was up front on what everything cost. Out of all my estimates, his was the most transparent and reasonable. Larry was able to move his schedule around and fit me in the next week. He and Brock showed up on time every day and immediately started grinding away with an excavator and tracked bobcat as well as large dump truck. They worked in unison and while one person drove dump runs the other would continue moving dirt to the street for the next load. I think in total they took out over 100 tons of dirt in 4 days. Larry gave me regular updates and would call or text me at certain points in the project to ask for my input as to how I wanted things to look. I spoke with two workers: one was very nice and respectful, the other disrespectful and curt. I was promised that my irrigation pipes would be mended by the next day, but that was not done. The first time I called the owner, he called me back and explained what they were doing, and I hoped things would go well. Weeks went by and my irrigation pipes were not repaired and one was leaking water down the street. I left a message for the owner, but he did not return my call. Thankfully my neighbor spoke to the workers on the property, who said they would take care of the problem, and a few days later I could see the irrigation pipes seemed repaired even though they now lie on top of the ground.
