Carlos and his team did an incredible job on my space! They did a commercial remodel for me at my business, and I can't say enough great things. They remodeled my floors, demo'd some walls, did a full paint job, hardwired & installed new lighting, built new walls with custom shelving inside the walls, created arched doorways, installed wallpaper on the ceilings, built & tiled a custom desk, and so much more. See photos attached! They were easy to work with and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time, considering all the hurdles we had to jump. My landlord wouldn't let us demo the floors, so Carlos came up with a creative solution of laying new flooring on top of the old so we didn't have to demo. Every obstacle that came up, the guys were able to work around it and still do all the things I wanted to do with the space. Carlos made great suggestions along the way and I felt confident trusting his judgement and took his recommendations on which flooring would look best, or paint colors, materials etc etc. I highly recommend using Mendi Custom Builders if you need any remodeling work done. I am so grateful, Carlos and his team really brought my vision to life! read more

I am very embarrassed that I have to write this review which could have been prevented if I did more work screening a contractor. Let me explain. I researched contractors on Yelp and found one that I wanted to hire. I clicked the button to request a consultation and Carlos called me right away. He had good sales skills and offered to come to look at my bathroom remodel project the same day. It turns out that when I submitted a request for a consultation it went to many businesses, not only the one that I was interested in. I finally realized that this was a different business. I looked at William S' review and decided to give them a chance. The business started in January 2022, yet the review that I read stated that they had two bathrooms, a gigantic kitchen, a brand new ADU unit, and 7 televisions in the course of the 3 months since the contractors license was obtained. I later found out that William S is a Mendi Builders employee and that it is a fake review. But I took the bait. I was desperate to get the bathrooms working and planned to be out of town for a week. Despite the vague and expensive proposal Carlos created, I gave him money to begin our project because of his availability and promise to work while I was out of town. In retrospect this was such a bad idea. The very first day that the team came to demo the home they forgot to cap the water underneath the vanity. They left water dripping on a Friday night and had no plans to return until Monday. Fortunately, my son came home and heard the dripping and stopped the leak and bailed out the bathroom. From that day forward every single thing that they touched was a disaster. Broken Tile: I had some special tile installed by an old friend who is no longer working that I asked him to protect. He destroyed that tile and did not alert me or attempt to repair it, instead he tried to conceal it. Plumbing: He changed a plumbing valve and left a huge glob of some sort of wax inside the pipe which was only discovered by the plumber that I had to hire to redo all of Carlos' work. In addition, they were so sloppy that they punched a hole in the wall behind the shower and into my family room. Mess Containment: Construction is always messy and Carlos promised to use plastic sheeting to contain the mess when doing drywall work. Instead of protecting my home, his team took a huge fan out of my garage and blew the construction debris into my family room and garage. This bathroom contained an exterior wall and Mendi employees started installing the drywall without adding insulation to the wall. In addition the workers made no attempt whatsoever to clean up any of their messes and left debris on my roof, throughout my home and garage, and even threw their drink containers in my garden. Their employee drove over a retaining wall and left it down in my driveway. Safety: Mendi removed two toilets there was no attempt to seal off the septic system and the home reeked of sewage. Sewage gasses are not only disgusting, they are dangerous. Mendi switched out a bedroom fan and did not clean up any of the debris. They let a bowl full of screws fall 8 feet down onto the new flooring in my son's room, which he stepped on. They also turned off all circuit breakers in the home and failed to turn all of them back on, so when I returned from my trip there was only one functioning toilet in the home, but the bathroom had no electricity for two days. When I fired Mendi I incurred many expenses and it cost me thousands of dollars to repair the damage they caused. It is hard for me to believe that Mendi was able to obtain a contractor's license. The amateur staff was unsupervised and clearly did not follow best practices of the trade. This construction company is dishonest and does shoddy work with no concern for their work product or customers.protecting my home, read more

Carlos and his team were the best and I would highly recommend them. I interviewed over 6 contractors and chose Carlos because he was responsive, prompt and professional. I was impressed with his prompt and professional demeanor from our first meeting and his quote was competitively reasonable. His team added a pantry for me, redid my fireplace, replaced my can lighting and added a fan in the family room. They were very clean, efficient and finished the job exactly when they said they would. Their craftsmanship was impressive especially considering I chose a tricky tile on a crooked wall! I look forward to hiring Carlos for our bathroom remodels next year. Can't say enough great things about him and his team. read more

I highly recommend Mendi Custom Builders for these reasons: !. Extremely polite, courteous and respectful (entire crew) 2. Kept his word...what he said he would do, that's what he did, and more 3. Did a beautiful kitchen remodel that I am so happy with, and replaced my laminate flooring with engineered hardwood in upstairs hallway, the stairs, and lower floor living and dining room. It looks fantastic. 4. His pricing was better than other estimates 5. He and his crew went over and above, doing extra things I asked for 6. They came and worked every day 7. Both projects were done in just under 1 month (kitchen was an unbelievable 3 week completion...) 8. Carlos is a true gentleman, and was always so polite. He is a good listener when you describe what you are envisioning. To sum this up, I had real trust issues concerning contractors because of past bad experiences...but I am so glad I found Mendi Custom Builders...I will use them gladly for my next project. read more

We had our bathroom remodeled by Mendi Custom Builders. Including bath, shower, double vanity, toilet and dressing room. White/grey, real marble walls and floor. Rebuilt shower with frameless glass. Involved re-routing plumbing and electrics to match. Throughout the process, from quotation to finish Mendi Custom Builders was professional and easy to deal with. The work preparing the walls and floor, and fitting the marble is meticulous, and exacting. They also suggested creative finishing touches along the way, and the result is stunning. The bright white quartz vanity top, with inset sinks is perfect. They also took great care protecting the rest of the house minimizing cleanup. I couldn't recommend Mendi Custom Builders more highly for the work they have done, and am positive the workmanship will mean the room will remain in great shape much longer than a run of the mill refresh, and is a great investment in our house. read more

Our balcony was leaking into our garage, due to work done by the previous home owner. I asked Carlos to inspect and quote a complete replacement. He was very friendly, informative, and knew what he was talking about. His quote was reasonable and after I agreed, his team started quickly and worked very hard to get it done. I was very impressed with their professionalism, work ethic, and above all... the results! Carlos and his team were great to work with and I'd definitely hire them again. Thank you, Carlos. read more

There was confusion on the front end of the process mainly on my part. We hired Mendi ( Carlos ) for our skylight project and the whole process exceeded our expectations. They actually were hired and completed two more construction projects and again did an outstanding job. I would use them again for general contracting projects. They were prompt and consulted us on every step of the way. Ken Kaczmarek read more

Carlos & Joel of Mendi Custom Builders have done 3 jobs for us: 1). Installed an electric operated skylight with screen & automatic rain sensor closure 2). Re-worked our garage ventilation system for improved air flow 3). Installed a pocket door to relieve entryway congestion All work entailed moving electrical wires and installing or moving electric boxes & plates, matching existing materials or creating new solutions. They encountered no obstacles without one or more solutions. With Carlos managing the jobs & Joel handling the day-to-day work this team offers seamless transitions from beginning to end. Integrity makes Mendi Custom Builders stand out from their peers. They are responsive, punctual, honest, meticulous & conscientious. All projects were completed on time as projected or earlier. Culmination of jobs takes place with an on-site inspection to review all details and ensure 100 percent customer satisfaction. Having built or remodeled many homes over the years and dealt with numerous contractors we can say from experience that Mendi Custom Builders goes above and beyond to please. On the day of installation he was here timely and was done in line 30 minutes. We are very happy with the work and are considering these guys for some additional projects.
