Food here is so good, I absolutely loved it! I tried the Spring, brick and mortar location, and we…read moregot the Patacon Burger which was by far my favorite, the arepa peluda, pepiprimo, and the picada. I love plantains and the idea of using them as the buns for the burger was sooo good I absolutely loved it. The Picada was also good and I loved the mix of items in it. Definitely recommend!

Thanks to reading up on this truck after visiting here during my dogsitting adventures in Spring, I…read morefound out it's located in the Gosling Express food truck court. How did I not know the name of the venue but knew what the truck was!? Nevertheless, my friend and I stopped here when he returned when I mentioned the food truck court off Gosling. He had no idea this was less than a mile from his residence and was pleased with all the truck options. We decided on this one since I wanted to taste this the moment I saw it. Yes, it's another Venezuelan food option but the eats just keep kicking with street goodies such as the arepas, empanadas, hot dogs, and burgers. Going a bit light, I went with the mushroom and cheese arepa and a shredded chicken empanada. The arepa had the right texture with the melted cheese and light crisp of the shell. The empanada was alright, similar to other empanadas I've had although I liked the golden brown color. My friend ordered the Pepi Primos sandwich which was stuffed with goodness beef, cheese, cabbage, dressing, onions, etc. A messy sandwich but he scarfed it down. like there was no tomorrow. We can't wait to return and try other items and my friend is glad this is near his location!

This is a brand new food truck in the Plaza de los Food Trucks, aka Gosling Food Truck Park. The…read morefocus is on meat, particularly steak. We got a to go order from them the other night--a steak picanha platter with grilled corn and veggie kabobs, and a burger with fries. The steak is amazing. I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium but I have no complaint as it was tender and flavorful. The meat is well seasoned and finished with rock salt, and absolutely delicious. The grilled corn was tasty with a nice char, though the kernels were very tiny. The vegetables were great, particularly with their chimichurri sauce which also has great depth of flavor. The burger comes with all the trimmings, including bacon and avocado. It was a good one, tender and with great flavor. The one disappointment of the meal was the fries. They were soggy, the grease had soaked in. I don't think this was due to the meal being to go--the fries were either cooked in old oil or not cooked twice (gotta cook 'em twice to be crisp). The meat is cooked on a wood-fired pit. They have sausage and pork as well. The in-person presentation is fancy, a very nice hot platter for the food. The to go presentation is not bad either, they use quality containers that keep the food from being crushed. The price will set you back--a picanha for one is $16. It's in line with the quality. The truck is run by a family and they are very enthusiastic. If you're looking for a high-end open-air experience you'll get it here.

This food truck recently relocated to the My Family Vet lot on Kuykendahl. I stopped in the other…read moreday and got a Surf and Turf burrito. I would have gotten the corn (elote) also but they didn't have it that day. I did get a side of taco rice. The burrito was plenty in itself--a large, neatly wrapped package of beef, shrimp and chicken goodness. It also had rice and cheese. The shrimp were popcorn shrimp but were cooked nicely--hard to do with the little ones. The beef was a bit chewy but tasted great and ate well when mixed in with everything else. You could easily divide it three ways. The burrito came with three salsas--a traditional red, an orange sauce that mixed ranch with a little chili, and a creamy green avocado sauce. The green sauce had the most kick, it brought the heat well. The orange sauce was mild but the flavor went really well with the burrito. The red was in the middle and more liquid. The rice was fine. I also would have ordered an agua fresca, but they don't carry those. They do have Mexican soda. Service was fine. A good choice if you're nearby. It is on the My Family Vet lot but don't use that entrance--look for their flags on the next entrance north.

We tried the guacamole tonight and it was good, but had lots of lime in it. Love the grilled Jalapeños. Service is walk up, but the operator is so nice. Some of the items of the menu are not served so I feel they should replace the menu. Ambiance in 110 degree weather even under a covered area warrants go the two miles home to eat. I love supporting small businesses, but we now have 3 trucks near us we love. I don't have to cook so much and don't break the bank.
