What a hidden gem. This lace used to be a Pizza Hut, you…read morecan tell by the building shape. It is also next to another "Mexican" Restaurant which caters to the after church crowd. However, La Patrona is actual legit South American/mexican food. The inside was clean. The menus were easy to read and describes the items in English. We were seated at asked what we wanted to drink. They have Coke fountain drinks as well as aqua fresca, beer and a think some bottled drinks. I went with a Coke Zero. It was 10am so my foodie companion ordered the breakfast sandwich and I ordered a jalapeño con queso papusa. The papusa comes with the red sauce and the Cole slaw stuff. It was on point! So delicious and filled with queso that had a great cheese pull. The torta was on soft bread, stuffed full of meat, cheese and egg. It is served with a salsa verde and a habanero sauce in the bottles. The verde was tasty but certainly had a spicy kick. This place is going to be my new Sunday breakfast spot. It is so good and other items on the menu looked tasty as well. Oh and the best part, 2 drinks, papusa and sandwich was $20.

First time I tried it, I kept craving it every week lol thank God for UberEats. They're super generous with the portions. Especially with the caldo de res too. Pupusas are bomb. Their salsas are perfect. Waitresses are incredibly kind and friendly! Excellent service. Oh and the breakfast? El tipico is my favorite. My mom and I always come here for breakfast on the weekends. Between the food quality, cute atmosphere, great service, and good coffee in adorable mugs... it's a perfect way to start your day.

The hostess stand was warm and welcoming, and we were seated immediately. It was just me and my daughter enjoying a little day together after her appointment nearby, and I'm so glad we decided to stop by. I've always loved this location -- the aesthetics are beautiful, and the greenery throughout the restaurant creates such a refreshing and inviting atmosphere. We started with the cheese pupusas, and they were amazing! My daughter (who's in culinary at school) had actually made pupusas in her kitchen lab that same day, so she convinced me we had to try them -- and she was right. They were absolutely delicious and the perfect appetizer to share. For our entrées, she ordered the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans and said they were really good. I had the garden green salad topped with grilled shrimp and grilled chicken -- so flavorful! The sauce on the salad was amazing, and I also ordered chimichurri on the side, which made it even better. The service truly stood out. Our waiter was welcoming and attentive, and we even had two managers stop by to check on us, which made us feel valued. It was such an enjoyable experience from start to finish. This visit was definitely better than our last one several months ago -- it felt superb this time. We will absolutely be back!

There were seven of us that showed up at 4 PM on Saturday. They weren't busy but took a while to get the table. My two children were with me and after asking a fourth time, I finally got a highchair, but they still didn't bring the booster seat for my son. I ordered the enchiladas and a mango margarita. The enchiladas à la Gloria were barely warm and the tortilla was tough and dry. My mango margarita was not good. I took four sips and that was it. My mother-in-law ordered the seafood soup, and it was scalding hot. She couldn't even eat it until the rest of us were already done. We ordered two orders of fried plantains (the chips) and just did not feel it was good value for the cost.

We ordered pupusas, barbacoa, and a burrito. The pupusas were AMAZING (we got the kids' one), and they came with rice and beans that were also really good. The barbacoa came with two tortillas and was flavorful without being overly sweet, which I really appreciated since I'm not a fan of sweet barbacoa. My mom had the burrito and felt it could've had more flavor, but overall the food was still solid. The staff was super friendly, the bathrooms were clean and nice, and it was a comfortable spot to grab lunch. Definitely a great place to stop if you're hungry and want a satisfying, casual meal. Would come back again!

Waited about 15 minutes for Freshly made pupusas that come with tasty curtido and salsa, included. ( bean and cheese), and an order of platanos fritos that came with black beans and crema; portions large enough to share. The pupusa is one of the largest I have gotten, and the consistency and flavor were exactly the way I remember them from my time in El Salvador; authentic and delicious. Cost was $20 total, but would easily have fed two, and I have enough leftover for lunch, tomorrow, so a good value, for good food! Don't miss this spot; they have juices, and bottled and canned drinks, too. Will surely be back to enjoy more good food from their menu!

Tucked behind a Whataburger on 1960 by the hospital, if you're familiar with it, it's a little restaurant with a parking lot that serves as ample space since it is not neighbored with any busy businesses and it's it's on an end cap. Parking lot is not very much lit but it's suffice, there are worse places that are darker. The outside really does not do justice for the interior because you cannot see inside from the outside so it's kind of, I guess you could say, a hole in the wall until you take a peek inside and then that's when you will be immersed in to what seems like a new restaurant with sturdy, not cheap furniture with no cheesy decorations. The menu is ample, you should find something for everybody in this establishment. If you are new to this type of food or not sure what to order, they do have a combination 1 2 3 and 4 starting from $12 ending at $18 which I recommend. These choices have a little bit of goodies that will allow you to experience a decent starter here. The Pupusas here are really good and they do not skimp on the filings . The Salvadoran tamales, which are quite different from Mexican tamales, are on spot as well I always get the chicken tamale and for the Pupusa, I always get the pork and cheese but there are other choices as well. When you sit at the table you'll be shortly greeted with a small bowl of salsa which I would say is fresh salsa but a little bit on the watery side. The chips are a tad on the stale side and you could pretty much tell like if you're going to the utilities to wash your hands you can see that they leave it in one big tub opened in the air to be stale as the time goes on but that's minuscule. The prices are very much reasonable, Mother and I ate and we ordered extra stuff which netted us about $50 and then I took my kids here, so three adults was $85 just to give you an example what to expect. Now the bad and unfortunate part, the service here is really not that good. All the waitresses walk around here with stoic faces and I have not yet to see one smile but that's okay the food and the interior make up for it. I would love to give these ladies 25% but with that funeral looking atonement, you are not quite there yet. I guess you could attribute that to their tip share policy with the crew. They do not get their tips individually. I've asked two people and verified. If you've been a server in your life and waited on tables, you know that unless you have an excellent team you will be inclined to do better when you get tips for yourself. Give this a establiment a try if you can, you will probably like it and have a better service experience. With the food, I can almost guarantee you will like.
