Breakfast taco of juevo con chorizo and some refried beans, flour tortilla.
    Jessica L.

I was in a hurry to get to an appointment and remembered seeing this establishment had great reviews, and I had a hankering for tacos! When I pulled up into the parking lot, I already saw signs of promise as there were a lot of Latino workers in their trucks eating inside and out in their vehicles. Walking inside, I was greeted warmly by the ladies working behind the counter and food line. The restaurant was clean and I liked their decor. Luckily, there were only two other people in the line, but one of the ladies who worked there walked up to me and took my order. 2 juevo con chorizo and refried bean flour tacos. The flour tortillas looked homemade, so that made me happy. Checkout was fast and easy. It seemed like they had a lot of repeat customers. I went out to my car to eat my taco and was disappointed. The tortillas were homemade, but they weren't nice and soft and had no real taste. The taco sort of broke apart pretty easily, and the eggs were dry and didn't have much flavor. The taco overall was dry, even with the refried beans, that I didn't bother finishing it all and threw away the second taco. Ironically, one of the photos says that "tacos fall apart, but we still love them."... mine fell apart, and I did not love it. Unfortunately, I won't be going back again.

On the 45 South feeder past 2920. They're open for breakfast and lunch 5:30 am - 2:00 pm. A variety of tacos, tortas, and other delectables. I had three tacos: barbacoa, pastor, and fajita. They were all delicious but the barbacoa was my favorite. There are a variety of condiments you can add and they have half a dozen different salsas at the salsa bar to help yourself to.

The small menudo (available on weekends) comes in a medium-sized bowl. It tastes rich and full of seasoning without too much fat flavor in the broth. The tender tripe is cut into small and medium size pieces. The hominy is soft with a little firmness. Chopped cilantro, onions and jalapeños with slices of lime and (3) tortillas accompany the dish. The barbacoa taco was okay. The braised meat was tender but didn't have much seasoning. I asked for a smear of refried beans, onions and cilantro. They have a salsa bar with a variety to choose from. I poured a bit of one of the salsas on my taco to try it out. I preferred the flour tortilla over the corn because it was more chewy and the corn tasted more like hominy than corn to me. The staff was nice even with it being pretty busy. There are booths, low tables and high tables to eat at. The place is charmingly painted with murals.

Always have a line, but no worries, they're quick!

This place has some great Mexican home style cooking. I might have to retire my mom early. These ladies here make great tacos, caldos and more. Check them out.

For you quick taco fix, this is the place!!! Truly amazing food. I had the Chicken Crema taco and Pozole. The Pozole is LEGIT!! The wife had the Mixto plate. Loved the salsa bar. Highly recommended.

    Torta

First time here. Came for lunch I had the pozole my daughter had a torta. Food was on point. Only thing I wish pozole was a bit hotter as in temp. But that is just my personal preference. The Items are fresh and made to order. Glad I beet the lunch crowd. If u want to beat the lunch crowd get there at 11:30 or so. The restaurant is nice, just wish someone was out cleaning the tables, we had to clean our own table to sit. If the table was clean I would have given all 5 stars. Will def. Be back. Ok

I'd wanted to try La Cocina for a while for that reason and those plans finally came to fruition. You walk up to a counter that has all the ingredients for taco making right in front of you. The guy asks you how many you are going to want, and if you want flour or corn, so he can let them know in the back to make your tortillas fresh. About 2 minutes later, out came our tortillas. I ordered 3: one with eggs and bacon, one with some kind of egg and sausage combo and one non-breakfast taco with fajita meat. The fajita taco was just okay, but the breakfast tacos had me thinking about them for hours after the fact. They aren't very big, so if you're a growing boy like me, I'd aim for 4-5 of them. The guy behind the counter tried to guide us into his suggestion of 2 each, but I jumped in and said make it 3 for me. If I could go back in time, I would have done 4 and made them all the breakfast variety. Both breakfast tacos were straight bangers from another dimension. All the sauces were great and none were too spicy. I might have to return to this place sooner rather than later because I really did think about it the rest of the day. I love you, La Cocina.

Between the family, we tried the barbacoa, chicharron, chicken fajita, and a fajita quesadilla. The fresh homemade tortillas really make a difference in every bite. I'd read reviews mentioning they were huge, but honestly, I didn't find them particularly oversized. Not a complaint at all, just not what I expected going in! My daughter loved her quesadilla and especially the cheese pull, which passed her personal "cheese test" with flying colors. The chicharron in salsa verde was a standout for me, perfectly seasoned, with no need for extra salt or salsa. Personally, I'd ask for the onion to be chopped just a bit smaller but that really is the only "complaint" I have. I also ordered the charro beans based on earlier reviews, and they were every bit as flavorful as promised. I'm already looking forward to trying their fresh-squeezed orange juice on our next visit. The staff was wonderfully welcoming from start to finish, and my husband, who went in with low expectations, was blown away by how delicious everything was. We're both so glad we gave this place a try. If you're looking for comforting, well-seasoned food in a warm, inviting setting, Nando's Tacos is absolutely worth the visit.

Serving tacos in the Humble TX area since 2022, Nando's Tacos (not to be confused with the chicken…read morerestaurant) serves up delicious full size tacos. My brother and I stopped in for carryout breakfast tacos on a Sunday morning. Alas, they didn't have brisket breakfast tacos, but had some good alternatives. Their flour tortilla is the choice here, and I believe it is Sonoran style: good enough to just eat by itself. My absolute favorite was the barbacoa ($3.25), very tender stewed beef with added onion and cilantro...not meant to be a breakfast taco I think. The other 3 tacos I tried did have egg. The potato & egg ($3.25) had big chunks of potato and plenty of egg: very filling not particularly tasty. The chorizo and egg ($3.25) was was prepared together, with the small chorizo pieces mixed in with the egg. And the fajita and egg ($4.79) used two slices of skirt steak flavored with fajita flavoring...for my preference, works better in skillet fajitas than in a breakfast taco. They also have menudo on the weekends, and both their corn and flour tortillas are homemade. As mentioned before, the flour tortillas are really good, and the barbacoa is definitely worth a visit.
