Love the food and variety of this place. Every time I come here, I make sure that I'm super hungry because their food portion always fills me up. The food is always hot and tasty. Service is good but sometimes I need to get up and get me additional napkins (not that I'm a messy eater or anything ). They play good Spanish music and I enjoy guessing the different flags on each table. Plenty of space to accommodate parties of various sizes. Came here with soem friends based on their recommendation and was happily surprised! When we got there, we did have about a 20-minute wait, but the smells were delicious, so the wait went quickly. When we were seated and I reviewed the menu, I ordered tamerindo agua fresca and two papusas. I got one squash and one cheese and jalapeño. First time trying it today & was super impressed ! Not going to lie majority of establishments that I've been to that serve salvi food have the worst service and the food is normally cold but here at Los pipiles everything was delicious !!! We ordered a Colombiana & a cafe with pan it was bomb. For our main meal we ordered about 5 pupusas & enchiladas salvadorenas and it was my first time having salvi enchiladas and they were so so good! Also to mention the food was hot which I'm so happy for because like I said any other Salvadoran establishment I've tried around the area usually the food is served cold by the time it comes out. This restaurant has good food but no one speaks English and they will ignore you the whole time , I even asked for help after waiting 7min I was the only one in the line and they looked at me like in disgust and ignored me. Customer service based on first impression is horrible. Walked in and you have to wait to be seated which we did for almost 5 mins with no one greeting us, a young lady that worked there having her meal almost in front of us could of said something but kept eating after looking at us. Was looking forward to my pupusa fix this morning, but unfortunately i was not satisfied. I order 6 bean and cheese pupusas and they were too thin with little to no cheese and I felt skimped. The only plus was that they added 3 complimentary pieces of sweet bread which were a little on the dry side. I've been a repeat customer, hopefully this was just a one time hiccup. read more

This restaurant is unorganized, they put you on a waiting list and tell you it's going to be 20 minutes. After 20 minutes you see that people that came in way after you are sitting down eating. Then they don't sit you down at a table for about 45-50 min wait. After sitting down they take 10 min taking your order. After 1 hr and 15 min you are receiving your food, then to find out the food is not that good. Worst experience at this restaurant. Do not recommend. This is the only place my family and I go to for the pupusas. They are the best in the area! They have a full menu of a variety of foods but I think pupusas is what most people go for. It gets pretty packed, especially on a Sunday afternoon, so don't be surprised if you go and the line is out of the door. It is worth the wait though. I'm not sure if they still have it, but the last couple of times I've gone they had a sign that said "seat yourself." However, you must check in with the hostess so she can take down your name and party number and then she seats you or calls you when there is a table ready. So the sign is misleading. read more

Mosquito or small bee in my mariscada soup. This used to be the spot, pupusas have more masa (dough) then filling. Their customer service is horrible. I called the restaurant back and the women who answered was rude when I let her know what was going like it was my fault there was a bug she stated they would replace it only if I went to the restaurant. Why would I want some of the same soup there was a bug in? I asked for a refund and it was an issue I was soo angry at the lack of customer service. Even eating there waiters act like there's a problem when you ask for something. Big bosses need to get all the staff together on their attitudes. The plates came out one at a time by the time we waited for the next plate to come one plate was cold. Literally waiting 15 mins in between plates for a group of 3 ppl. When I got my order which was the last one. I ordered the chicken breast with mushrooms.the mushrooms were raw. Wasted even cooked in the sauce. When I took a bite it was freezing cold. I sent the plate back all they did was microwave the plate. Which still doesn't cook the mushroom and on top of that ruined the salad that comes on the plate because it was all soggy. My mom pupusas were old you can tell they had been sitting there for awhile because my dads were so fresh looking. Def won't be coming back. Authentic. Or at least as close as I've had beyond my mother-in-law's cooking. The pupusa is of course the staple, and this place does it right. The price (less than 2$) is legit. The size and thickness are just right. From the simple been and cheese, to loroco, to chicharron. The fried delicacies abound: pastelitos (which are savory, not sweet as the name might imply), yuca frita which wasn't soggy or soft, and chicharron (which was a step below jerky consistency and great to chew on). They have Latin American sodas, as well as classic Salvadoran fruit drinks (like the ensalada which is chilled fruit cocktail), and classic pastry desserts (the restaurant also has an associated bakery in the same strip mall). Will have to try the soups/stews the next time in. They kept coming out piping hot to the tables around us: beef and seafood options. Part of the authenticity is of course the laid back attitude that comes with many Latino cultures: so expect a bit of a slow service. read more
