Love the food and variety of this place. Every time I come here, I make sure that I'm super hungry because their food portion always fills me up. The food is always hot and tasty. Service is good but sometimes I need to get up and get me additional napkins (not that I'm a messy eater or anything ). They play good Spanish music and I enjoy guessing the different flags on each table. Plenty of space to accommodate parties of various sizes. Overall, this place is one of my favorite when I come to Houston. read more

Los Pipiles - Trying out Pinpeled Sampler! - Salvadoran Near Me - Houston, Texas

Service is not great, but you're there for the food to be honest! The pupusas are great and meaty! The slaw can be better, but tasty nonetheless. The caldo the pollo was a hit with my kids! They loved it so much they ordered seconds! We only tried pupusas and the caldo. read more

If you plan to eat here on the weekend - go early! The place is hoppin' from 10 AM to 12 PM and the wait can be crazy. But the food is made fresh and it is SO good! The atole is fantastic. Their appetizers can be meals themselves. The aguas frescas are authentic. Go here! Enjoy Salvadoran food. Get some pupusas, some chicken tamales and corn tamales and then be ready to get rolled out of there cause you'll be stuffed! Worth the wait. Worth the money. Worth. It. read more

Came here with soem friends based on their recommendation and was happily surprised! When we got there, we did have about a 20-minute wait, but the smells were delicious, so the wait went quickly. When we were seated and I reviewed the menu, I ordered tamerindo agua fresca and two papusas. I got one squash and one cheese and jalapeño. Both were absolutely delicious, and the meal was great. read more

Los Pipiles - Salvadoran Near Me - Houston, Texas

First time trying it today & was super impressed ! Not going to lie majority of establishments that I've been to that serve salvi food have the worst service and the food is normally cold but here at Los pipiles everything was delicious !!! We ordered a Colombiana & a cafe with pan it was bomb. For our main meal we ordered about 5 pupusas & enchiladas salvadorenas and it was my first time having salvi enchiladas and they were so so good! Also to mention the food was hot which I'm so happy for because like I said any other Salvadoran establishment I've tried around the area usually the food is served cold by the time it comes out. Super cute establishment , we didn't have a wait time & the waitress was good with checking on us. Will be coming back !! read more

Best pupusas in town! They do take a while to make them but the wait is so worth it. Always friendly service.

This restaurant has good food but no one speaks English and they will ignore you the whole time , I even asked for help after waiting 7min I was the only one in the line and they looked at me like in disgust and ignored me. I think there racist , I've even tried calling them and they will just hang up If you don't speak Spanish save yourself the trouble. This really hurt my feelings , I won't be going back read more

The atmosphere is great. Place is immaculate. Service is on point. The food is very tasty and hot. I will come back

This place is authentic. Don't expect fast service. Just good food. The different types of drinks are great. The food selection from all over parts of El Salvador is what makes this place. read more

Was looking forward to my pupusa fix this morning, but unfortunately i was not satisfied. I order 6 bean and cheese pupusas and they were too thin with little to no cheese and I felt skimped. The only plus was that they added 3 complimentary pieces of sweet bread which were a little on the dry side. I've been a repeat customer, hopefully this was just a one time hiccup. read more

Definitely one of the best popusas I ever tried. Relax environment. The service was excellent they pick up my plates, refilled my coffee. The food was ready pretty quickly. Thanks to Alejandra for the service. read more

Customer service based on first impression is horrible. Walked in and you have to wait to be seated which we did for almost 5 mins with no one greeting us, a young lady that worked there having her meal almost in front of us could of said something but kept eating after looking at us. Unfortunately that why we as Hispanic dont succeed in trades we do because we don't put effort like other ethnicity. Customer service is key on the restaurant industry. We walked out with this negative review. read more

Los Pipiles - Unorganized back area. - Salvadoran Near Me - Houston, Texas

This restaurant is unorganized, they put you on a waiting list and tell you it's going to be 20 minutes. After 20 minutes you see that people that came in way after you are sitting down eating. Then they don't sit you down at a table for about 45-50 min wait. After sitting down they take 10 min taking your order. After 1 hr and 15 min you are receiving your food, then to find out the food is not that good. Worst experience at this restaurant. Do not recommend. The place is loud and feels like you are in a third world country. read more

Very and extremely disappointed. I had not been or ordered from them in a while and will definitely doubt I'll go back! I placed a big order of pupusas and some 2 orders of yuca con chicharrón. The pupusas were ok but the yuca and chicharrón orders only came with only three pieces of FAT from the chicharrón (hardly any chicharrón and the few (2) pieces of chicharrón (per order, were mostly fat and burned! read more

In all honesty this place has the best pupusas. I've been coming here since I was a little kid. It's really hard to find a salvadorean restaurant with good pupusas. The service isn't bad it's alright. But I still come back for their food. Their plantain empanadas are delicious it's a must every time you go dine in or even for take out. The ambience is alright. This Place definitely deserves more support and more recognition. read more

This is the only place my family and I go to for the pupusas. They are the best in the area! They have a full menu of a variety of foods but I think pupusas is what most people go for. It gets pretty packed, especially on a Sunday afternoon, so don't be surprised if you go and the line is out of the door. It is worth the wait though. I'm not sure if they still have it, but the last couple of times I've gone they had a sign that said "seat yourself." However, you must check in with the hostess so she can take down your name and party number and then she seats you or calls you when there is a table ready. So the sign is misleading. read more

No unprofessional and rude lady had a attitude when we were ordering food is subpar and not worth the price

The food is delicious, however the customer service is terribly bad, long wait times , even after you've ordered an hour in advance

Too packed long waiting line and it was early in the day small place . . . . . . . . .

Authentic. Or at least as close as I've had beyond my mother-in-law's cooking. The pupusa is of course the staple, and this place does it right. The price (less than 2$) is legit. The size and thickness are just right. From the simple been and cheese, to loroco, to chicharron. The fried delicacies abound: pastelitos (which are savory, not sweet as the name might imply), yuca frita which wasn't soggy or soft, and chicharron (which was a step below jerky consistency and great to chew on). They have Latin American sodas, as well as classic Salvadoran fruit drinks (like the ensalada which is chilled fruit cocktail), and classic pastry desserts (the restaurant also has an associated bakery in the same strip mall). Will have to try the soups/stews the next time in. They kept coming out piping hot to the tables around us: beef and seafood options. Part of the authenticity is of course the laid back attitude that comes with many Latino cultures: so expect a bit of a slow service. read more

Went her with the girls from work for lunch and I think we were all in agreement that these were the best Pupuseria we've been too,and we've been to a lot! Everything is so fresh. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant is clean (you can always tell by how the bathrooms look). We'll be hitting this place once a week I'm sure. Bonus: the bakery, with the same name, in the shopping strip a little walk away. Fresh bakery items and food. Yeah, we stocked up on sweet breads for the weekend. read more

I think this is the best Salvadoran restaurant with the best atmosphere & best food for the best price in Houston.I've definitely been to lots of Pupuserias & Salvadoran restaurants in Houston & I'm not saying that those places aren't good because they are,its just that this place is better. Its usually pretty busy when we come so yes, there is a wait but what do you expect? It's a good restaurant & they make your food fresh, that's why it takes so long.I've never had any problem with the service either, everyone has always been really attentive & nice. I ordered the bean & cheese Pupusas & Guacamole Our table ordered Pastelitos de Carne(Meat Pies), Yucca y Chicharron & Empanadas de Leche.(Plantain with custard inside). My boyfriend ordered the Carne Asada & my brother ordered a plate with a little bit of everything on it : a Chicken & Veggie Tamale,Yucca, Refried Beans w/Crema,Plantains,Curtido & a Bean & Cheese Pupusa.Of course I tasted a little bit of everyone's food & it was ALL delicious! The Pupusas had a lot of cheese unlike some places that are real skimpy with it.The Carne Asada was really tender & had a great flavor & of course the Curtido & red sauce you put on the Pupusas was amazing. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and we were already making plans to come back.Everything tasted like it was straight from El Salvador! They also have different juices like Tamarindo & Maracuya (Passionfruit) & they have Horchata.Definitely come try this place, I guarantee you won't wanna go anywhere else after eating here. read more

Mosquito or small bee in my mariscada soup. This used to be the spot, pupusas have more masa (dough) then filling. Their customer service is horrible. I called the restaurant back and the women who answered was rude when I let her know what was going like it was my fault there was a bug she stated they would replace it only if I went to the restaurant. Why would I want some of the same soup there was a bug in? I asked for a refund and it was an issue I was soo angry at the lack of customer service. Even eating there waiters act like there's a problem when you ask for something. Big bosses need to get all the staff together on their attitudes. They finally agreed to give me a refund when I got angry. I'm a cancer patient and really have no strength to argue. This situation drained me. I will never go there again. read more

Los Pipiles - Mosquito or small bee in my mariscada - Salvadoran Near Me - Houston, Texas

I pinched my popusa & it was raw. My Salvadoran boyfriend agreed it was raw. That offended the cook and as you can see the picture their little joke "ok I will cook it longer" All the kitchen ladies were looking our way to see a reaction. My whole office no longer orders from them. We used to ordered 5 to 20 popusas on a weekly basis, but never again. They are not the only place with Salvadoran food. I have found and love Dinora's, playitas, & Cristo Rey & you should try them or don't ever return anything back, instead of correcting the problem they will serve you trash. Pictures do not lie and speak a thousand words. See for yourself! Wish I could leave 0 stars for serving this to a paying customer. read more

Los Pipiles - Cook's bad joke for me returning a raw popusa - Salvadoran Near Me - Houston, Texas

I've been coming for years but lately the service has been so bad. First we never got refills on our drinks (water). The plates came out one at a time by the time we waited for the next plate to come one plate was cold. Literally waiting 15 mins in between plates for a group of 3 ppl. When I got my order which was the last one. I ordered the chicken breast with mushrooms.the mushrooms were raw. Wasted even cooked in the sauce. When I took a bite it was freezing cold. I sent the plate back all they did was microwave the plate. Which still doesn't cook the mushroom and on top of that ruined the salad that comes on the plate because it was all soggy. My mom pupusas were old you can tell they had been sitting there for awhile because my dads were so fresh looking. Def won't be coming back. On top of that the waitress we had got upset because I asked for the mushrooms to be cooked she brought back the HOT plate with a napkin to protect herself but was pushy of me to grab the hot plate instead of putting it on the table. La mecerá tiene que ser más atenta, they need a little more training on customer service. Vane dile que se pongan las pilas!

The amount of El Salvadoran restaurants seems to be on the rise, which makes me very happy. I can't get enough of the food! This place takes the cuisine up a notch. Whereas most places that serve this kind of food keep it simple, the presentation of the food, the location itself (as far as interior and decor) and friendliness of the servers at Los Pipiles outshines all other restaurants of its kind. The greasiness of the pupusa is part of it's charm, but Los Pipiles manages to make a pupusa that is just as tasty as others without that greasiness. I was pretty amazed. The atol de elote was also wonderfully made! They also have breakfast. The huevos rancheros are delicious. read more
