"Not only is the print in mint condition but your experience, care and meticulousness in packing and shipping clearly showed and was exceptional; our concerns about the winter weather and rain were also handled perfectly.  I am really glad I spoke to John, I believe his name was, about other shipping options which really made a difference in the total package shipping costs  in these hard times, Bravo. Just to let you know we never doubted your expertise and capabilities, it was just the amount of time to get this present to our aunt that was a concern, she loved it. The only thing besides thank you I can say to you is "Never Change". Because of the service that I chose, this lithograph, in a very strong tube passed through at least 5 of the United States in the middle of winter, that is Vermont to California, and arrived on time unscathed; And all for a total price of $38 you can't beat it, and all by telephone and email. here's a tip for all of you: whether you are on the phone, writing a text or email, keep a smile on your face no matter what, period. One of the highest price shippers I've ever used! Suggested by Merrill's auction house. I buy a lot on online auctions but was FLOORED by the prices but I had no choice but to ship. 2 boxes. When I put in weight and size in UPS website, total shipping including insurance was $60. They charged $171! I have no problem paying for labor of $40 plus shipping (although didn't even bother to bubble wrap so.....) but when I said I could send them my own labels after hearing the quote (which I've done before with other shippers no problem) it revealed the huge markup they take. they said they charge $20 PER label if I sent, plus $10 per box, plus peanuts plus plus and the $40 labor. I have never paid when using my own label. Extreme profit to 2/3 for them, 1/3 shipping. Would never use again. Find other alternatives The low reviews are for a reason. read more

This is a difficult company to work with, but I understand it is under new ownership and they are learning as they go. Pricing is far above the industry standard, and when I recently tried to request a more competitive price, co-owner Tyler Keefe responded with a very sarcastic and totally unprofessional attitude. When I told him I was unhappy that the company was charging more than the average rates for shipping, he literally threatened to charge me even more if I didn't agree to his original pricing. YIKES! That said, after my initial interaction with Tyler, co-owner Mae Keefe contacted me to try to smooth things over, which was appreciated. Tyler Keefe himself never apologized, which would have made me feel better about the overall interaction, but I want to credit Mae with taking a more diplomatic posture toward customer dissatisfaction. After speaking with her directly, I feel that both Tyler and Mae are people I could be friends with had we met under different circumstances, and I honestly wish them the best. I know the business of being a shipping company can be stressful. As a consumer though, I'd recommend a less hostile attitude when dealing with unhappy customers, especially when pricing is objectively higher than the average rates. There's no law against charging more than your competitors, but a negative reaction from some consumers should be anticipated and dealt with in a mature fashion. read more

Brought in an item to be packed and shipped off. They took the item and told me they were busy and would call me with options/checkout over the phone. I was a bit uneasy leaving it because they gave no receipt, no idea when it'll be sent/received, and I don't love giving out my credit card over the phone, but have used them before so left. After a few hours no call, I call and the same employee angrily told me that he's the only employee working and they'll pack it the next morning. The next day after no call I go in to try and figure out what's going on, and the owner tells me they don't know how to pack it (a basic square steel electronic device), and I should have expected it would take over 24hours for them to pack and send something (what??). So rather than shipping my device, or apologizing for their mistakes, he then begins to harass and berate me ultimately resorting to petty name calling, even though I had been civil and just wanted to send my package. I the. took the item back, went to UPS in Stowe, who were able to pack and ship it and hand me a receipt in about 2 minutes time without calling me names or acting like it was an insane request. This place used to be great, but the new owner clearly doesn't give a ****. Sad to see a neighbor and someone on the board of Revitalizing Waterbury actively making an effort to make our town worse. Update: the owners statement below is completely untrue. And asking me to apologize for his failures as a business owner and a neighbor is beyond insulting. I left the item at 4pm a time I was the only person in the store, and two hours before they close, and was not told it would not ship out, let alone that it'd be more than 24hours... I asked the employee if I needed to fill out the needed by box as I wanted to discuss options and he said leave it blank we could do that when he called (he lied about this to Tyler when asked in person). This was not last minute nor during a rush, nor was Tyler present. I in fact saw UPS pull in as I left, so hard to claim it was after pickup. I called 2 hours later before they closed wondering why I hadn't received a call, 2 hours seems more than enough time to wrap something in bubble wrap and place in a box. I was given sass telling me they only had one employee and had "antique guns" waiting to be shipped, not sure what that has to do with my order, but seemed important to the guy as a rationale for why he didn't package my item. He said it'd go out in the morning though. I came in an hour after opening (I guess technically that's minutes, but usually when it's 60 or more we use hours?) The "scene" I caused was asking him to package and ship the item while we waited, since all I ever wanted was to ship my item. To which he refused telling me he was incapable. The item was a 100% discrete analog audio amplifier, not a computer chip, or even microprocessor on the board so again, pretty obvious lie. Further I asked to talk to the owner to discuss the poor business practices (not providing a receipt when accepting valuable items from clients, or letting customers know that an item won't ship for days) and insulting behavior presented by his employee, also because I know he's new to town, I wanted to say hello and introduce myself to a neighbor. Instead of having a discussion he berated me, and was in fact the one making a scene, I walked out of the store in silence/disbelief with him yelling "goodbye ROB", "Have a good day ROB" literally yelling over the sole other customer (whom somehow they had no problem packing her item as we waited). Needless to say the statements and tone were extremely loud/sarcastic/disingenuous, and hard to say I'm making a scene when he's the only one yelling. All in all, I'll revert back to the fact, the same item I was in and out of UPS within 10 minutes despite only one employee and others in line ahead of and behind me, and the item was en route within hours not days. Certainly worth the extra 5minutes drive for the better service. Luckily this is a small town and most locals reading this will know me and my reputation, and Tyler's lack thereof, the question of who's lying should be quite obvious. But no I will not be apologizing for what was likely the worst behavior I've ever experienced from a business owner. read more

Great service here and great ownership as well. I needed shipping fast and on short notice and man did they deliver, Tyler the owner answered my call and was very accommodating to my needs. Not Only did I get my merchandise in time for the big game, it was packaged correctly without any possibility of damage. I think the prices are fair and will use them in the future for sure. They send me (to QC, Canada) a 6"x6"x6" box that only weight 0.80oz. Cost me a total of $75 USD USPS would have only cost $16 They will rip you off badly!!! AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! And avoid bidding with Duane Merrill & Co auctions since they only deal all their shipping with Pack & Send Plus! They provide the shipping for Thomas Hirchak Company auctioneers. I bought a lot that they shipped, 4 pounds of media mail, and I failed to check what type of items were going to be included in this one, of many, auction lots that I won. They contacted me to let me know that their "best price" for shipping would be almost $40. Not unheard of for much of what I win and have shipped, but outlandish for what was actually shipped. They used a service that was 3x or more than what should have been used. Expect them to oversell you on what shipping service to use if you choose them to ship your items. Also, the way the items were shipped was USPS Priority Mail, for which free boxes are provided. They used their own box for which I was charged. Like many I wonder why Yelp* does not provide 0 stars in their ratings. Lesson learned. Hopefully this will help others as well. I highly recommend using another shipping service. read more

I came in here with my mom to have some photo copies made of some important photos of my moms house where she grew up . We drove almost an hour from another town to get here . At first the service was helpful, and the woman and young gentleman said that it could be done and we would have to wait about 15-20 min which was no problem at all. The first copy didn't come out right, and then things changed. The manager stepped up and wanted our job to be put aside to work on a previous order that was scheduled. I understood that, but it was so rudely stated and we were told to come back later or tomorrow. It now seemed that this simple copy was a lot more complicated and maybe couldn't be done. The tone completely changed towards us, and it was quite embarrassing the way were sent away. My mom is elderly and I knew that these photos were important to her so I accepted to come back. It was a long drive there and back, but we left. We got a call to come back to pick them up, only one photo ending up turning out, but we were initially charged for 3! Including the first one that didn't come out right. With a lot of attitude from the owner, the price was adjusted. We were treated horribly by him, mostly barking his orders from the back room and making his employees do the dirty work. The employees were nice, especially the young men who worked there, and so was the woman who helped us, but her attitude changed when the owner was telling her what to do. They seem embarrassed also how we we being treated. I asked to speak to the owner and explain how I felt and he got even ruder and yelled " give her, her money back. !!" That was his solution, no customer service, no apology. Your small business is not welcome here. I did my like the job thy did on my moms important photos, or the way i was treated. Paying for it had nothing to do with it. Take your business somewhere else. Anyone who runs their business this way shouldn't be an owner or manager. Pack and Send MINUS! Don't ship anything important with this unprofessional, incompetent outfit. I bought a $1000 art print at Duane Merrill auction house in Williston, and these idiots charged $40 to send me the 14x16 piece of delicate paper artwork using the cheapest, most careless, unprotected packing approach I have seen in 20 years of buying at auction, or even from amateur ebay sellers. Pack and Send stuffed the print, without protection of any kind, into a cheap thin mailing envelope, easily bent or creased. It arrived to me with one corner badly bumped as shown in photo. Not a single bit of protective cardboard backing, no protective corner reinforcement, no protective wrapping. This item should have been placed between two sturdy boards, bubble-wrapped, then shipped in a proper package. But I'm sure this crappy place just wanted to save time and money. They are in my view ignorant hacks and have no business shipping anything of cultural or monetary value. I have suggested to Duane Merrill that this place reflects poorly on their own business, as neither I nor my fellow collectors will be buying again from a source with such low standards for their shippers. Not surprisingly, my repeated calls and messages requesting a call back from a Pack and Send manager, one left with Mary Ellen, were ignored. read more

Whether it's astronomical asking price for print jobs, missed deadlines on prints without apology or discount, inconsistent promises about which carrier picks up when, or the absurdly gruff attitude of the business owner when you bring prepaid packages for pick up, coming here is never fun and always a last resort. But this place is alone in Waterbury. You can go to a UPS store in Stowe or straight to the carriers in Williston. It's about on par with a life sentence trying to park at city market during the holidays. read more

Thank you for your fine effort! I had won an item at auction with Duane Merrill and Co. last month. It was an early 19th century gilt French Mantel clock. It came with a base and also a large glass dome covering it. I was freaking out due to the fragile nature of the clock and the glass dome. Pack and Send Plus advised that they would ship all 3 items separately. All 3 items were shipped FedEx and all 3 arrived in perfect condition. If I could give this guy zero stars, I would. I'm visiting from out-of-town and have a 50-page document thatI need uploaded to a PDF file. On their site it says $1/page, which is very expensive. I called the UPS store in Stowe and in South Burlington and they quoted me $15 and $5, respectively. When I called Pack & Ship, Derek (?) answered and quoted me $0.75/page. When I told him about the UPS store's quote he replied, "great, take your business there, I don't care." He was VERY hostile and then said "we are better than they are on most things and do a very good business; we don't need your business. What you're asking for is labor intensive and a fair price." I countered, nicely, and said that I thought you'd want to know that your competitors are charging much less. And scanning to a PDF is not labor-intensive! At that point he threw some more superlatives at me and I hung up, in shock. I can't imagine how this guy would react if you had an issue with the quality of his work. I've been going to Pack & Send Plus for 3 years now primarily for my small business. They've handled everything for me from trade show materials to printing everyday materials. They are a very busy shop handling far more than you'd expect of a local print shop. The small team is friendly & very helpful. I always try to plan ahead and check my order when I pick it up, which I've found to be helpful for them and myself since they are so busy. The quality of work is always high, and if for any reason I'd like to make a last minute change, try a different color, etc. they are always are above and beyond accommodating.
