They gave me information that didn't even match the tracking updates on their own software and then provided me with the general 800 number for USPS to contact a local post office. Not great. I called this post office not even expecting someone to pick up the phone. However, a postal worker picked up the phone and helped me promptly after assisting a customer at the desk. They were able to efficiently find the package and I was able to coordinate a pickup. Perhaps this is just nostalgia for Vermont, but you'll never find that kind of service at the post offices I've ever been to!

The post office is the bomb. (Do not mail bombs - that's illegal - along with a bunch of other dangerous stuff) The Montpelier Post Office is especially the bomb. Sometimes snafus happen, with residency, mail forwarding, COVID, aging parents, and immigration, all during the Xmas season, and the Montpelier PO handles that sh*t with aplomb (but not a bomb - don't forget)

Whereas the mailman represented the post office in a negative light, the official who spoke with me lent credibility as he personally spoke to this disrespectful employee. I wish I had asked the name of this official as I want his supervisor to be apprised of what an asset he is to the post office; and hope he is being compensated commiserate with his compassion and professionalism. I've had three separate transactions with these fellas, and they were all successful. I wholeheartedly recommend The Computer Barn. They do top notch work and their pricing is above board. If you have read any of my previous posts you know that I am a customer service queen and Pop Color hits the customer service nail on the head. Print houses can be intimidating to a new designer and on top of that, I'm a self-taught one. Printing quality projects presents a whole other level of education and knowledge, Francine at Pop Color helped me right along. Her patience and willingness to show me how to set things up properly and understand a bit more about printing really had a positive impact on my experience and my design knowledge. I felt welcomed and appreciated. The print projects I have had printed here have been high quality, I have yet to have a better experience in the greater Burlington area.

This, of course, is inconvenient, but, still, it's not why I am complaining. The minute I walked in the shop, the repairman's demeanor was agitated and weird. His smile was forced barely concealing his irritation. He complained that my VMs were full and that I hadn't kept up with my emails. Fair. He explained that he hadn't been able to get through. My bad. I guess. That wasn't the problem. I called them shortly after dropping the computer off. I gave them the go ahead to do the repairs at whatever the cost. I expected them to be done. It's OK. I was ready to pay for the parts and get it done. He acted really irritated at me. All I did was express that I would have wanted him to tell me that I needed to pay for the parts before the repairs could be done. Why could he not have told me when I dropped off the machine? Or when I called the shop and authorized the repairs? I was speaking in a calm tone just legitimately telling him that I had thought that I had authorized the repairs over the phone. He said something about how I needed to pay for the parts first. I said fine, but I have somewhere to be. I had authorized the repairs over the phone. The guy was so fidgety and his anger was apparent behind his false smile. Why does someone have to be so angry at someone who is about to hand him $500? At least? And that wasn't the problem. The guy is one of those sensitive types who is sensitive about his own feelings and not about the feelings of others. Sensitive guy, amiright? He was so tense and needlessly. Nerd. I just wanted to pay for the repairs and get my computer back. He was worried that I might abandon the computer without the repairs. I actually showed up with a credit card willing to pay for the repairs or for the parts, so his suspicion that I would have abandoned the computer was immediately proven false. He became really angry, and I only spoke in calm tones while I watched this dude just approach me searing with rage. He just handed my computer back to me with a refusal to fix it just because I was calmly stating my case. Absolute Sexism.
