I'd give zero stars if I could. Hired in Virginia. Do Not Trust!!!! PODS should be ashamed to have them on their site! Their deposit is the full amount and when they don't complete (or walk off) the job they lie! Getting them to complete the job or get your money back is impossible. They make promises they don't keep, like moving pianos, or coming back. They play nice until they get your money, then watch out! They hire day labor, so it's the luck of the draw on how they well they do the job or even if they do the job. They told my credit card company my claim was "bogus". Unfortunately was not a great experience with this moving company. The drivers milked another hour out of me. Took a smoke break 1 hour into the job and didn't even get all my furniture down into a car port so it could be loaded. Movers left my house empty handed and I watched 3 grown men shrink wrap a bed frame. Overall very poor service and not handled accordingly. They did not protect our sofas with wrapping. They chipped our porch steps while dragging the furniture. As a follow up to my review on July 7, I want you to know that these idiots lied to the Better Business Bureau and said that we were told to pack our valuable items ourselves. They never said anything. They ruined a lot more then what we claimed - some of which were sentimental items and they which they didn't care for. We requested a refund of $1000.00 which they said we could not get. The value of what they ruined was about $1000 but we claimed only $450. They told us that they would pay us $4.60. Mind you, I had $200 worth of prescription medication eye drops which I actually had to throw away because they needed to be refrigerated. They wanted to pay us 60 cents for all the medicines. $1.00 for the Chinese vase, $1.00 each for all the other items I claimed they ruined. The movers were great guys but the company is as irresponsible as one could imagine. The movers made a bad decision to "walk" my Ms. Pacman machine across my wood floors and made several scratches. They also removed the blankets before moving furniture in the house and damaged the stairway in several places as well. They were very apologetic and assured me that Pack and Load would take care of the damages. While waiting for the forms to arrive, I had local companies do bids to make the repairs. The cheapest bid was $1,039 to repair the floors and $595 to do the walls. I filled out Pack and Loads forms and provided pictures and a copy of the document where the movers admitted to doing the damage and pictures included in a 28 page document. They do not return phone calls. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Largo, Florida. Pack and Load does not return their phone calls either. Here are the culprits. Extension 200 (Joey). He may be the biggest con of them all. He is in charge of the claims. He offered me by e-mail $25 to just go away. Christine seems nice (ext 170) but she is helpless, Danielle ext 214 will listen but has zero authority but has none and David (112) pretends like he has some ability but doesn't do anything either. I have put a claim into Pods to make sure they are aware of the suspect business practices and have suggested that they stop recommending this company. I did not complain about the initial move, but I should note that the group assigned to my move-out agreed to take apart my $2,000 treadmill. When they got to my new home, it was still in several pieces. They told me I had to call another service to put in back together which cost another few hundred dollars. The sales guy... name is Lance was less than honest about the treadmill. I hope that those of you who have documented the issues surrounding this poorly run, non-communicative company will call the Better Business Bureau of Largo, Florida, and file a complaint. This is the WORST COMPANY TO HIRE TO PACK YOUR BELONGINGS! I do not have enough space to describe the worst moving experience EVER! They work through 3rd party local companies to pack and load PODS. The first thing they noticed when walking into my home was the packing supplies I BOUGHT! The picture attached is how the box looked when I opened it up! No packing paper no wrapping of items just threw the stuff in a box. The company also did not arrive timely to pack us and left before the job packing was complete. Did not arrive with enough supplies to pack my home. I had to go purchase more boxes, tape and pads because if I didn't go buy them they would LEAVE THE JOB and they were already behind. I was literally bent over a barrel! By the end of the job they were cutting up carpet remanents to put around our glass vases. PACK and LOAD pays the sub contractors different rates for packing your belongings and loading onto a POD. All well and good but this crazy payment structure made it seem prohibiting to complete the both pack and load job they were hired to do. Profit before customer service. I have moved 5 times and this company by far is the worst! Save yourself a huge headache and stress and hire another company. Again do not hire PACK AND LOAD SERVICES. Watch out their small prints in the contract. you have to pay 75 dollars to cancel the moving. I was forced to cancel the contract because I could not sell my house and keep delaying the moving date for little over one year. and I gave them at least 1-2 months ahead of notice. they did say that they would credit me back if I called back again later when ready to move. We have used Pack and Load services a few times before and have been somewhat satisfied with the crew who came out to load and unload my Pods. Because I had used this company before, I trusted that use them without any problem. I was wrong. I had boxed almost all by belongings, strapped garden tools together, disassembled racks and tried to make it as easy as possible. I had two pods to load in two trips. One of the loaders, who called himself the lead, spent time watching the repaving of the street in front of my home. They packed and repacked the boxes as they were learning how to load a Pod. It took 6 hours for a three hour job. I spent my day telling them to get everything out in the drive way to plan how to load my items. The second day and pod went a little quicker until they tried to get my couch out the door. They keep asking how the couch came into the house and I told them it came in the front door. The lead, after not being able to get the couch out started yelling at me, saying, what do you want me to do. I said I wanted the couch in the pod. I am not the loader. That is what I hired your company to do. The lead started arguing with me and was so unprofessional so I asked to get someone out here who knows what they are doing. He said no one was available. I asked where his boss was and I was told he had to stay home to watch his children. When the bill came, I was charged about $2000.00 and that included paper blankets they didn't use and took twice the time needed to complete the job. If I could give this company -stars, I would. This is the poorest excuse for a pack and load company and I believe Pod's company should take them off the preferred list of loader company. Awful! Christine and Heather were the manager and dispatch I worked with. On a 3 hour job their on site supervisor went to get food, the crew ate and drank and answered numerous phone calls. They went over their 3 hour window and they said it was because they had to take an elevator and walk across the parking lot. Christine is awful. She is a manager and all she did was act like it was not an issue and they provided great service because they got the job done. First of all, they were *the most* expensive out of all the places I got an estimate for, but I went with them because they guaranteed "full service." When my loading day arrived, an older gentleman arrived with two high school kids, one who said he "was just helping out for the day." So, I knew immediately these were not experienced loaders for the price. They arrived with an almost-empty roll of shrink wrap, and they did not even bother shrink-wrapping my couch or mirrored nightstands or some of my other expensive furniture. Nothing was strapped down in the trailer, so when I opened it to unload at my destination, chairs and bookshelves had gone flying and managed to be on top of all the stacked boxes. I had so much property damaged, and they claimed they were not liable because I didn't have them pack *and* unload my goods. Why would I want to rehire a company that treated my items so poorly? And, yeah, I'm pretty sure the guys stole $80 cash from my home, but I couldn't prove it, so I didn't mention it. You'd have more luck hiring people off the street than this company. These people are shysters. They charge $75 cancellation fee for nothing. I called on the phone originally to get information, and stupidly, allowed myself to say OK to their booking and cancellation policy. OK. My fault. But who charges $75 for nothing, when a person calls a month ahead, saying they change their mind? They did nothing. They provided no service. And they refused to reimburse my $75. We used pack and load from richmond va. It was horrible and a nightmare. Yes we were on a time frame. We asked for contract and they said they sent it. We were supposed to have 4 movers they sent two. The supervisor sat in air conditioning truck and watched a movie. Everything was already in boxes. We asked if we could help bring stuff out to the boxes. They said no,it was against the rules. We had two dollies to help. They carried one box at a time and dropped a couple. They were getting paid by the hour. The next day we had items sitting in the driveway. They did not arrive on time. They had more people and it went faster. These guys on the second day were ok. When we arrived we had to use the same company. The two guys showed up and they were great. They asked who packed because the did everything wrong. We ended with leather lift chairs with holes, broken dining room table, scratches on wood furniture. Since the company in Florida, you can fight it. That is why most if the companies have hone offices In Florida due to it is very hard to fight in court that state. So for 8,000.dollars damages we ended up with a check less than $280. I am asking. This company was recommended to me by PODS for moving out of my apartment. The company that Pack & Load Services sent, JC Movers, arrived to my apartment two hours late. The movers proceed to break many of my belongings, damage the walls and take smoke breaks during the move. Their lateness to the job ended up causing the live load of the POD to go past the scheduled time, which resulted in an extra $250 charge. Pack & Load took over 1 week to get back to me about this, and ended up refusing to cover the cost of the extra hour for the POD. Would recommend against using Pack & Load for moving purposes due to poor performance and poor customer service. PODS should not recommend this company. read more

We secured a pod and went with their recommended pack and load services to load and unload our POD for our move from Michigan to California. When the POD arrived and the Pack and load movers came to unload it, the door wouldn't open and the movers left. I had to have PODS come out and wiggle the POD around to get the door unstuck. The rocking chair was loaded too close to the door which caused the POD door to get stuck. The next day the Pack and Load movers came back to unload. I found out the next day that I was charged $225 for a trip charge when they couldn't open the door! I disputed this as their people loaded it and they should be responsible. They will not refund that trip charge so now I will dispute it with my credit card company! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I wish I had read reviews before hiring them!!! read more

They packed a moving truck with my beautiful dining furniture with the metal patio furniture right on top- no padding underneath. It was all packed before we realized it. I had an absolutely horrific experience with this company. Movers were supposed to arrive between 8-10am. I got a call at 8am from the lead guy that he had not put together a group yet, and that he was 2.5 hours away. I called at 12:30 to get a status update. He said they were 2.5 hours away, but did not sound very confident about it. I called again at 3:00. No answer. He texted at 3:30 saying he would be there at 4:00. I called again at 4:30. No answer. He texted something about his guys getting lost. I texted back to please give me an ETA. No answer. Finally customer service called me and told me he would be there at 6:00. I had ordered a Pods unit that was to be dropped off and picked up on the same day. I had only rented the parking space from the city for one day. Someone else in my building had the space reserved the following day. During this time, I couldn't wait around, so I moved 80% of my stuff into the Pod or lobby of my building. I took apart my queen size bed and sectional couch by myself. The crew finally did arrive at 6pm. It was a man and three teenagers. They finished the remaining work in one hour. In doing so, they wripped a piece of the linoleum tile in the apartment, which will come out of my deposit. They also insulted the building manager in Spanish, assuming that she did not know the language. Since it was too late at this point for the Pod to be picked up, I had to tip the driver $200 to come and pick it up the following morning before his regular route, so that I would not be in violation with the city. I slept on the floor in the empty apartment that night to be there for the pickup the next morning. All in all, it was one of the worst days of my entire life. read more

One of the movers was overweight, in bad health, and sat around watching while the other movers did all the hard work. I felt bad for him, and realized I needed to help him so this job wouldn't take ALL day. I am a senior citizen, and I worked harder than she did. I called the company to let them know I was not happy, and was not going to pay for the extra hour being charged when I was assured they would send 2 movers that could actually do the job. The subcontractors were fine but they were working for these guys and the big boss backed out of the job when it was only partially done. We are a house full of disabled people, we can't move things ourselves, and we were supposed to be driving to Washington the next day. We had payed for them to do the whole thing and the boss had said they would do it that morning, but come afternoon the boss called and said that the movers were leaving. They also said they weren't going to come back another day and finish it, not that they were available the next day anyway. No one was able to come from another company on such short notice so we had to change all our reservations, which was incredibly expensive, and we're unable to get to where we are moving in time. This company has no ethics. The movers they contracted with on the pack and unload were good. But, for the unpack, the movers wanted to come early since their first job canceled and it was cold. I had them set for the afternoon as I had two Pods being delivered and it made no sense for movers to be here before the Pods. I had one Pod on premises when they called and I told them they could come early, but I explained the situation. They finished the first Pod and had over an hour and a half before the second Pod arrived. You said you would not change me for that time and now feel just an hour credit is sufficient.
