I was so embarrassed. I sat at the bar and the bartender refused to wait on me or acknowledge me. I asked for a wine list and she waited on 4 more people before bringing it. Then she completely forgot my order. Walking around the bar like a bird, looking this way and that and completely ignoring me. I finally had to ask another bartender about my drink. Someone at the bar told me the owner doesn't care about regular customers either. I definitely won't be back. I drove out of my way to come here, spent $60 for dinner and for nothing but inconsiderate service. I left a 20% tip but should have left nothing. Still regretting it. read more

I have been here twice and the staff has been amazing both times. We came for new years tonight and were treated like regulars. The owner was here and takes great pride in every dish served. There was an amazing guitar player tonight, he played a great mix of older and newer music and it was loud enough to enjoy but not over power the conversation between my boyfriend and I. I don't know why I have not posted a review about this fun local place until now. I guess when I remembered that they have brunch, on Sunday, I was motivated to spread the word! I've been to Pacinos many times, for Social hour, dinner, and also brunch on Sunday. I don't think I have ever had a bad meal or service. The restaurant is spacious with a large bar area and patio with misters. There are lots of "Godfather" artifacts inside and it has a sleek Italian vibe. The dinner menu is Italian food but brunch covers all the typical menu items. Today I was surprised to see a "specials" menu which I always love because it's a chance to have some thing different or seasonal! My husband did the build your own omelette, which also comes with breakfast potatoes. I chose the broccoli frittata off the specials menu, and it was chock-full of sautéed broccoli with a generous serving of melted cheese on top. I added a mimosa, and it was the perfect breakfast. Our server was very pleasant and checked on us often. She even brought over a little sample of the whiskey maple syrup that they served with the cornflake crusted French toast, and that made me really wish I had chose it for my entrée! Pacinos has lots of things happening throughout the week, different specials, music, and right now they are even hosting a talent competition with a $5000 grand prize! I placed a pasta order for pickup last night and was surprised when the girl up front said the pizza had just been put in the oven. Concerned, we made sure to clarify that we were picking up pasta and ended up waiting 30 minutes past the due pick up time but were assured they didn't make a mistake with our order. Based on the circumstances, they had obviously made a mistake but were unfortunately dishonest about it. The food wasn't terrible but it wasn't the best quality. If you're looking for a place to eat, I'd continue to look for better service and quality. read more

We had an absolutely wonderful experience today at Pacino's. Our server Ali W made sure of it! Five of us sat on the patio and enjoyed lunch and the first day of cooler temps. Ali was very attentive, friendly and always made sure we had enough water. Before we knew it 3 hours had passed. For a special treat, Ali brought each of us a complimentary mini cannoli. We all appreciated this Italian treat which Ali told us is made entirely in house. The next time you head to Pacino's, ask to sit in Ali's section ; you won't be disappointed! read more

Four health violations are unacceptable in this day and age. This just shows a lack of ownership and management caring. The concept of having a nice Italian restaurant in far east mesa is a lost cause. The one time I complained about the service there, the owner wanted to argue with me. We did an online order to go and there was a soft drinks on the order. Got home and realized we didn't get the drink we ordered. Called back and I was told we don't do soft drinks to go and it shouldn't be on the menu. I was charged. I asked for a credit and a I was told a manager would call. It's been 2 weeks. This was a great Easter buffet today. It started off great with the service that Heather and Ashley provided that made our meal so enjoyable. They were friendly and attentive to all our needs. That makes for a great meal in itself. This was a buffet and you have an owner who's breakin his behind making sure all your trays are filled with food. Another 5 stars!! And Louis crankin on the prime rib ,and not talkin cutting you cheesy slices. He's being generous with that meduim rare delicious grade A beef and slappin on that Au Jus with a side of horse radish. The deviled eggs were to die for. I've cooked in restaurants for years and these were killer. The scrambled eggs,bacon,sausage were excellent. Then you move onto some salmon,chix catch, pasta,shrimp,ceasar salad,etc. Everything was excellent. The only hiccup was the food could have been hotter. BUT sometimes hotter means if you come late the food gets dried out so that's a catch 22. Take that info how you want to take it. All in all this is 100% WORTH IT FOLKS......TRUST ME it's a home run for the money. We'll be back during the week for regular dining. PS. The music was awesome as well.....loved it. We gave this restaurant a try on Saturday night. Had a really cool neighborhood Italian restaurant feel inside. Clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't order any drinks but we did decide to get an appetizer. I tried the calamari. Without question the best calamari I have ever had in Phoenix. It was expertly cooked. It was tender and flavorful, not the least bit rubbery. The batter was light, fresh and delicious. I could have eaten two plates of just the calamari. One plus they did serve bread with the meal. The bread was average, not the rustic Italian bread that I prefer. My wife got the chicken parmigiana, the chicken was tender and flavorful. It was well cooked and I would recommend it. I got The taste of Italy meal, it included lasagna, chicken parmigana and fettuccine alfredo. I would say the fettuccine alfredo is probably the one thing that didn't seem to fit the dynamic of the plate. It just was not exceptional. I would also say that the meal could have been a little bit warmer as far as temperature was concerned. The lasagna and the chicken parmigiana were very good though. We ordered an apple gorgonzola salad to split and it was absolutely delicious. Very conveniently located Italian restaurant in Mesa. A part of the larger complex you're bound to found parking. I highly recommend a reservation as I did not have one, so we found seating at the bar. For appetizers we chose the fresh fruit and cheese board as well as truffle fries. The truffle fries were gone before I even got to try one. Those were amazing to say the least. I got the Bolognese pasta super fresh and filling. They have dinner specials which were extremely delicious and consumed to their entirety by my family. As far as drinks, we got mocktails and wine all very good. The bartender was our server and she did an excellent job, very attentive everything was super quick. We took my mother in law here to celebrate her 78th bday. It was an amazing experience; from the great atmosphere, to the delicious food, to the world class service that we received. We had a party of 8 ppl. Dishes ranged from , lasagna, fish, veal, chk parm, and lobster ravioli. The presentation with each dish was tastefully done. The waiter kept our drinks full, gave us fresh plates and forks for our amazing cannolis and cheesecake. I highly recommend this restaurant for a nice outing with your friends and family. I had made the reservations two weeks prior to coming, requesting an outside patio table for a party of seven, to celebrate our adult daughters birthday, they were all from out of town. When we arrived, we were led to an outside bar top table with a gas fireplace down the middle, it was a windy night, so the smell was intense, I said that this would not work for us, but alas, they had no other tables so we had them turn the gas grill off and took the only table left to us, and was actually only set for six so we had to squeeze in another stool! (I do not like sitting bar top stools as it makes my legs and feet swell ) It was a disappointment for me for sure, but tried to make the best of it. My fiancé and I often eat here and are seldom disappointed, last night I decided to go for the grilled lamb chops, on the menu it was paired with veggies, I swapped these out for asparagus and creamy risotto. Lamb seems not to be popular in the US so as a Brit I give it a try whenever a restaurant offers it. The meal was excellent not only was the lamb cooked to perfection the risotto was outstanding and the asparagus was cooked just right my complements to the chef. I'm hoping Frank (the owner) will keep this as a staple on the menu since he regularly swaps out items. read more

My friends snd I went out for a nice dinner expecting karaoke maybe some fun music and ambience. We experienced a completely oddly quiet and completely dead restaurant, not even some Jazz music or elevator music to be heard. Our server was attentive and very fun and charming thank you Andrew but the overall experience was MEH, The food was tasty we all had an appetizer and an entree. As small business owners, my wife and I always try to find a "non-chain" restaurant so we can support local businesses. This past weekend, it was Pacino's, in Mesa. I'm an Italian guy from NY who has been in AZ for 30 years, so I've pretty much given up on Italian restaurants (there are a few good ones - but very few). This changed everything. The appetizers, the salads, the food were all amazing. They had a performer singing classics from the "Rat Pack" years to add authenticity. It was great. The only drawback was that we came in without reservations and had to be seated right next to the singer's speaker. It was a little too loud, but not at all over-powering. They even (eventually) asked us if we'd like to move a little further away once a table cleared. We chose to stay where we were. Each course came out quickly and unlike so many places today, the server asked if we were ready for the main course, instead of just presuming and bringing it out. Dessert consisted of three mini cannoli, which had the ricotta cream piped into it fresh, and had chocolate drizzled on the top along with powdered sugar. It was as fresh as it was authentic. Dinner with two soft drinks, an appetizer, two side salads, two entrees, and one dessert was about $85 and worth EVERY SINGLE CENT! The food portions were sizeable and absolutely delicious...even when we at the leftovers the next day. We will be back...we promise. read more

This was my choice for a recent pre-marathon carb extravaganza, and it served that purpose. We were there super early on a Saturday, so it was definitely beating the dinner crowd. There were tons of tables open, but we were seated right next to a family with small children at a table that had one seat facing the sun streaming in. I wasn't super happy about that, though I understand if other tables were reserved for later. We asked if we could move, and they did take us to a better location. There were lots of options on the menu, and they brought focaccia bread with oil and vinegar to start. The bread was pretty good, but there was barely any vinegar. The cup was also quite vertical, so it was hard to get the vinegar on the bread and we ended up eating it with just oil. We ordered the Chicken Spacarelli and the Eggplant Involtini with Gnocchi. The chicken was the better option, but it came in a lot of oily sauce that wasn't really soaked up by the carb (potatoes), making it kind of awkward to eat. I ended up putting some on the bread, and that was pretty good. We were just visiting, but check out their nightly happenings - there's a lot going on throughout the week! read more

Ambiance is nice but don't care for the room temp water in little glasses on the table. Waiter must have been new because service was poor by hey, he was new. This was the second time I have eaten there and don't plan to return. First visit I found the chicken parmigiana to be bland and tastless. Second time I ordered pizza and it had the flavor and consistency of a frozen pizza, need more be said about that? I ordered calimari for the table which was good but on the pricey side. My meh lunch with iced tea turned into a $50 lunch (With tip) and that's just too much for lunch. read more

While visiting the area with our family of six adults and five kids of various ages (including an infant), we gave Pacino's a try for dinner one night. It was so great, we all returned two nights later! Our server for both nights was Debbie, who was absolutely one of the very best ever anywhere! She was attentive, friendly and took such nice care of everyone - especially the kids! We all were talking about her very fondly. She was very special! Every single dish was excellent. The pizza is great, thin crust and served hot and crisp. The pasta dishes were all homemade and delicious with large portions. The lobster ravioli was particularly outstanding. The salmon dishes were perfectly cooked. The eggplant parmigiana, cioppino, salads - everything received rave reviews. Our two meals included Monday, which is live music, and Wednesday which is half price wine. The bottle we selected (Coppola) ended up cheaper than what we pay for it in our liquor store. We also got free desserts for everyone because we had spring training tickets! We also learned that they run lots of fun events and specials throughout the year. It's a comfortable yet very nice atmosphere for any occasion. We were in town just escaping the Colorado cold for a few weeks and we head back this weekend. I'm sure - whenever we are anywhere close, we'll make a special point of making it over to Pacino's. And asking for Debbie; we'll miss her! All in all...fantastic! read more
