Hubby and I toured this apartment complex few weeks ago. Our agent Jorge was very helpful and knowledgeable, making our tour (we also toured 2 other properties with Jorge on the same day) enjoyable. Pros: Spacious unit, there's a shared tandem garage for tenants in the building. Peaceful, quiet surroundings. Cons: There are no in unit washer/dryer (which is a must have for us). One thing to note is while trying to schedule for our tour for not just this place, but the other two properties - The Bluffs and Pacific Bay Vista, it was rather confusing. We first tried to schedule tour on the website, which seems straightforward, but once it's booked, we never received any text or email confirmation. I then tried chatting with the AI agent on the website, which informed me the tour was not booked since the time I chosen was not available, despite it showing up in the selection when you go through the tour booking option. The AI agent then proceed to help me book a tour for a different time, which I still didn't receive any confirmation after waiting 2 days. I finally called the number on the website during working hour (despite having different phone numbers on all 3 of these properties' website, the similar experience and obstacles let me to realize they are managed by the same company lol), and was connected to an offsite agent who helped me work out the scheduling. Shortly after, I received a text from another agent Lindsay regarding the tour and asked if I would like to do all 3 properties on the same day, which I agreed to (assuming it was all coordinated). The tour itself went smoothly on the day. It's just a bit confusing to navigate, so for anyone who is interested in scheduling a tour with this property (or any other properties managed by them) I recommend calling the number instead of trying to book it yourself on the website. read more

After living at this place for 3 years they stuck it to us. This is what happened. When u want to move they want u to give them A 60 day notice! Most places u move into within 30 days of getting accepted. Well Paul and Patric want us to pay them for two more months of rent while being moved completely out and paying first and last for our new better place. Such jerks. They made it super easy to get into Pacifica park but a nightmare to move from. They raised the rent on us every chance they could get. Beware of the small print at this place. The amount of people that come and go from Pacifica park is insane. We are out and gone and was hoping for a pro rated pay out to move but nope they stuck us with paying for two more months rent. Again before you move in there read the fine print. 60 day notice to move out and they will hold you to that. Jerks . read more

Living at Pacifica Park was a nightmare -- not because of the unit itself, but because of the dishonest and predatory management practices. After being told I had to move out early because the unit was already re-rented, I was pressured by the manager, Paul Frazell, to pay a termination fee -- weeks before my legal move-out date. Later, he sent a move-out invoice charging me over $32,000, including "rent acceleration" for months when the unit was clearly already re-leased. That's illegal under California law, which requires landlords to mitigate damages and not double charge tenants. They also charged me $275 for a cleaning fee, despite me hiring a professional cleaner, and $465 for repainting after just 7 months of living there -- completely unjustified and against California Civil Code §1950.5, which prohibits deductions for normal wear and tear. And yes -- they kept my $1,000 deposit and still claimed I owed $745.54. I provided written dispute and proof, and they've ignored it. I'm now preparing for legal action. This place is a scam operation hiding behind a corporate name (AIR Communities). If you value your money, your rights, and your peace of mind -- do not live here. read more

The place was lovely but I dealt with too much crap here to recommend it to others. Cons: 1. When I moved in they gave me the wrong address on my apartment. I had to change tons of documents (insurance, etc) and reroute packages in-transit because of this mistake. They did compensate me fairly for this mistake though by giving me a few months of parking for free, and boy did I need it because it's impossible to find street parking at almost any hour of the day. 2. The doorbell/intercom was broken for the entire time that I lived there. I was told "We should receive the new system by 09/28/18." I moved out in 2020 and it was never fixed. Getting packages was pretty much impossible thanks to this, unless you pay an insane amount (150/yr?) for a locker for packages and want to walk your heavy packages across the property. 3. They don't put recycling bins next to all of their trash cans; enjoy walking across the property to recycle if you are not near one. Also enjoy paying an extra trash fee because people aren't recycling correctly because of the lack of bins. 4. They once changed the locks to the shared front door while I was away on a business trip. They left the key taped to my apartment door, on the other side of the lock. I was not notified in any way about this change. Imagine coming home from a work trip and being locked out of your own apartment in the cold. 5. Expect a LOT of extra charges. In December I was charged $51 for sewage, $105 for trash, $39 for water, $10 for gas (the apartment doesn't have gas so i have no idea where that goes?), and a few bucks each for a couple smaller line items like pest control. I don't understand why the trash is so much, probably because there aren't enough recycling bins so people throw recycling in the trash regularly. 6. Enjoy the big apartment lifestyle without having an office there to support you. Nobody works in the office unless you call ahead of time, so it's hard to do anything face-to-face (for example, if your cats were locked in your apartment and you had no way to get in because they changed the locks without calling you) 7. Rather than improve your experience that you are paying for, they spend their efforts finding new ways to extract money from you. The package locker is more expensive than they tell you when you are moving in, and good luck getting delivery drivers to use it; they will still drop things off to your apartment instead, even when you provide detailed instructions. Another example: they recently put a little market inside of the gym with snacks/essentials you could buy. There is literally a 7-11 across the street and now you gotta stare at candy when you're in the little gym, lol. 8. They charged me for a full repaint of the apartment for a couple small holes I patched up in the wall where I hung some items and a few scuffs from furniture. 9. They raised the rent on my apartment by hundreds of bucks (maybe $400?) after a 14 month lease. I think I had only 1 week to decide whether to pay $400 more a month for another 14 months, or to leave. Even though I only had a week to tell them I was leaving, they didn't respond with further instructions for me for another 2 weeks when I emailed them again to remind them. 10. They want a SIXTY DAY notice to vacate. 60 days is pretty cruel: you can't really find an apartment 60 days in advance so enjoy the existential stress of not knowing where you are going to live next. 11. Do not trust the online ratings for this place. They reward tenants for posting reviews, and of course the people are going to write good things if they are required to send a screenshot to the enter the raffle. Pros: 1. Greg was always great with maintenance when I had any issues (besides the intercom), he was local so issues were always fixed quickly. 2. Having a 7-11 across the street and a safeway nearby is amazing. Beware though, the hickey/gateway intersection is pretty dangerous for pedestrians (poorly lit, only stop signs despite being a big street). 3. If you get the right apartment, you can see a little sliver of the ocean which is pretty damn neat. I also loved the fog and having a pure white window on foggy days was cool. 4. The kitchen was pretty dope, all the appliances are great. The electric stove takes forever to heat up and cool down which can be frustrating, but if you're used to an electric stove this is pretty normal. read more

I lived here for 2.5 years. Things were great in the beginning, but went downhill after I renewed my lease. Pros: Good storage, dog park, gym, washer and dryer on site, close to the freeway, 5 minutes drive from the beach, and nice apartments. Cons: - Maintenance is not responsive and apparently only does repairs after 7pm. -When a washer or dryer is broken, or the laundry room smells like mold, don't expect it to be fixed for a few months. - If you need your FRONT window screens replaced, you can expect the creepy maintenance guy, Greg, to be looking through your BACK windows at 8pm, a month after you submitted the request. Don't expect him to contact you before he does this either. He'll only contact you after you yell at him to go away. Greg, why does changing my screen require you to peer into my apartment? And if something like this happens and you describe to bring it up to Cherie, the property manager, you can expect to be gaslit and dismissed. - Expect $100-350 for trash, water and other fees to be added to your rent each month. If you inquire about these fees, don't expect a transparent response from Cherie. She becomes very rude and patronizing when tenants ask about what they are paying for. - If you look at a unit that's listed for $ABC/month, don't expect to see that rent price on the lease when you go to sign. Expect the rent for your desired lease term to be about $200 more than the price Cherie initially told you. - Expect for Cherie to neglect to tell you that you and your neighbors' door codes were changed at 10pm at night. - Expect a LOT of illegal dumping. Non-residents will drop off their bed bug-ridden mattresses, tables, TVs, etc. And guess who pays for it? The tenants! And when you bring this up to Cherie, don't expect any action or acknowledgment. - If you happen to be unlucky enough to work with Cherie when you apply, don't worry! She will be very nice in the beginning. If you want to stay on good terms with her, I advise not asking her any questions or bringing her any concerns while you are a tenant. Overall, the location is great and the community has a lot of great qualities, but it's not worth it. At first, I could bear the inflated fees each month. But I won't tolerate is maintenance neglect and unnecessary rudeness from the property manager. Do better. read more

We have lived here for 2 years but we are NOT happy with the rent and especially the fee we were charged to pay after we moved out. Let me start with the fees. (Monthly fee) As everyone said, How they show us the rent is a scam. The rent itself is not too expensive but it will add up extra a few hundred dollars; For garbage fee (~$90 a month. Really how it can be so expensive?), other community utility fee (~$50), Carport fee ($120) and Dog fee ($100 per a dog). Your PGnE fee is on top. (Moving out fee) When I moved out, we needed to give a 2 full months notice but they told us that if anyone would move in within 2 months, we can get a refund of the term. Our room has an ocean view so we moved out earlier and hoped someone would move in soon. I was checking Pacifica Park Apartment website often to see how much rent it shows and if it's still available. Right after we moved out, our room, 432 was on the website then it got off about a month later. We drove by to check if someone moved in and saw the shed had a new lock and the window was open. That made us think that someone moved in already. Then, Pacifica Park Apartment called us and said nobody moved in and we needed to pay the full price plus painting fee and everything. We told them that we saw someone moved in but they kept saying that the system doesn't show that and we needed to pay. Seriously? (Other stuff) You can just read Mike's review which I can't agree more with it. Maintenance was a really frustrating one. I requested 5 times about the broken door bell but they decided to ignore me and didn't fix it for 2 years. My sink got broken and water leaked. I requested emergency but they didn't reply me for 2 days. Finally a guy came and said I should have called Greg's phone. How am I supposed to know his number? There is no such info on the website nor anywhere. You want to call them? It takes forever to get there. You have to email someone and wait for a few days to get replied. We lived in this complex for 1.5 years and we couldn't wait to get out of our lease! For the past few months, we've paid an additional $300 per month because we didn't renew and went month to month. We sacrificed paying extra because that's how serious we were about leaving this place! Here are the things we experienced: Pros: * Updated appliances and cozy unit space with shared 4 car garage (each unit has two spots within the garage and storage space) * Walking distance to a very convenient 711, two gas stations, Safeway, Starbucks, Rite Aid, Laundromat, Dollar Tree, taqueria, Chinese and Japanese restaurants, nail salon, kickboxing class, and liquor store. * A nice neighborhood to walk the dogs, go for a jog or have a nice walk * On-property gym that is well kept and very convenient Cons: * When you first meet with Cherie she sells you on everything you want to hear about your next home experience. A fast talker with sales experience * When you move in no one is upfront about all the extra fees you'll be responsible for * Parking is absolutely horrible! Good luck inviting family and friends over to watch the game. They'll have to park a block away at Safeway because the so-called visitor parks are always taken by tenants who don't want to pay the $60 per month for an additional parking spot. It's also not uncommon for people doublepark for hours making it hard to get in and out of your garage. * Maintenance is average. While they are responsive especially if you are locked out repairs can be slow. Our main front doorbell downstairs has literally never worked the entire time we lived here. Imagine the inconvenience of having to go up and down two flights of stairs for every visitor, for every package or every door dash delivery. I notified Greg several times and only heard he was working on it but apparently he needs another few years to get to it. When we moved in there was a stain on our second bedroom window that Greg told us would be repaired. He told us to let him know if it was a priority to fix but assured us it was on his list. I guess its still on his list almost two years later. * Washer and dryer don't do a good job of washing clothes. It either doesn't get perfume or stains out of garments adequately or it doesn't spin at all. * Non-smoking laws and policy aren't enforced well. We have several neighbors here that were chain smokers who'd regularly smoke in front of our main door * 60 days notice required when you request to vacate. Where have you ever heard of a requirement to give more than 30 days notice!??? This is another example of how much this place wants to drain every penny from tenants. Can you imagine the challenge to find a new home if you have to give this place 60 days notice!??? Most places are looking to fill a vacancy asap and they are prepared to wait 30 days not 60! This benefits Pacifica Park because in case they don't find a new tenant in 30 days they've already received an additional month rent from the vacating tenants that gives them 60 days to fill the vacancy. Truly unethical! * The weather which is obviously not a reflection of this property. It's always foggy, cold and depressing but when it's nice it is gorgeous! I enjoyed living here from 2018-2023- my favorite memories were on clear windy days where you can smell the sea salt from the beach at the dog park! Unfortunately, I left since my rent has gone up from 2.8k to 4k in the past few years- and that's not counting utilities, pet rent, carport parking, trash. I would have probably stayed if the rent wasn't inflated so badly. A few cons- Greg does a great job handling all of our maintenance stuff- although it's usually done after hours where I just want to relax after work. It seems like he's the main man for PP and another sister complex so I can empathize. Trash- People leave their huge trash/furniture instead of calling 1-800 Junk, and we collectively pick up the tab. In the last 5 years I've lived here, Cherie and Greg have sent out plenty of emails to tell tenants to stop, but no one did. Ive seen the trash bill fluctuate from 80-100/mo. Insane. Break-ins- Cars & storages are broken into at least twice a year. Sound- Walls Are Thin. If you live on the first floor- expect to hear every single thing. My husband and I, along with our 2 dogs, have been living here for almost a month and we are happy with our decision! The apartment is clean and modern with spacious rooms and updated appliances. The noise level is minimal and the complex is quiet. The amenities are well-maintained; we love the gym (small but clean with nice equipment) and dog park. Additionally, it's super close (walkable) to groceries, food, coffee. It's unfortunate that there is not an option for W/D in the apartment, but thankfully the laundry facilities are near to us and not too expensive. One of the biggest downfalls is the overall cost (rent + pet rent, parking, insurance, etc.) -- however, this is basically unavoidable if you live in the Bay Area. Wasted a year of my life here. A good chunk of the misery can be attributed to Pacifica as a whole; with it's crappy run-down stores and general affinity for destroying your will to live. I will say that the actual interior of the apartment was nice; lots of space; and that it was pretty clean when we moved in. Never ever had a problem with pests/rodents. Summertime was nice because it never got too hot; there is no A/C but it's not really necessary. Frankly; we barely used the heater either because it was pretty well insulated. Airplanes would pass overhead all the time; and while you can hear them; it's not that bad. The little dog park was usually well-maintained. The rent is kind of on the high end for what you get (or don't get for that matter, such as a washer/dryer in your apartment) but rent in the Bay Area is bad all around. Now on to the bad. -The entryways are all locked; with a stairwell that leads up to the apartment unit. This means that if you have guests (or delivery people); they will need to buzz you on the intercom & you'll need to push a button that allegedly opens the entry door for them. All too often the delivery person could not grasp the concept of opening the door when they heard the buzz. Really annoying. -You probably won't invite guests over that much anyway because guest parking is an absolute joke, as is street parking around the complex. -The staff was almost never in the office whenever we needed to speak to someone in person (picking up packages; informing them we were not renewing our lease; turning in our keys; maintenance complaints) -We had a family of crackheads below us who would throw a rave party until 3am in the middle of the week on a regular basis. -There was a pipe above our section of the garage that broke at least 4 times and leaked water all over our cars. The leak was coming from the bathroom of one of the other tenants of our building. It kept getting "fixed" but it never stayed fixed for long. -In the span of a year; the gas station across the street got robbed multiple times. It actually got robbed TWICE in one day; the second time someone got shot. Then someone got shot in front of the Lucky's. Then the Metro PCS store also got robbed at gunpoint. The shopping center across the way is in general pretty terrible (sub-par pizza place, very mediocre sushi place, really terrible Subway; and a gross grocery store). -Nobody knows how to navigate the four-way stop leading to this complex. I lived here for almost 8 months but (unfortunately) had to leave to care for a family member but really enjoyed this apt complex. The photos on here doesn't do the units justice, so you have to make an appt to visit. The unit I lived in had an updated beautiful kitchen with lots of storage and closet space - which a girl with 96 pairs of shoe desperately needs. My immediate neighbors weren't overly nice/social but nevertheless it was very quiet and the grounds were well maintained. (Even the neighboring complex was very quiet.) There is laundry and a small gym on site (have all the equipment you need) and lots of shopping across the street. The management and maintenance staff was very friendly and i would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to live...and I, myself would consider living here again should I ever move back into the area. read more

If I were you I'd avoid this place. The new owners recently started renovating without any notice to the residents. Don't let the shiny new exterior fool you - they don't take care of the insides. They also don't enforce many rules, people park anywhere they want to, and garbage, shopping carts and unwanted furniture litter the grounds. The interior common areas of the buildings are rarely cleaned - garbage overflowing in the laundry rooms, and hallways unvacuumed for months at a time. We were one of the lucky ones, we escaped this place. Before we moved however, our apartment suffered many leaks as a result of the damage the construction crews caused arond the windows, on the roof, etc.. When complaining about the damage and leaks, we were told don't worry, they'll take care of it. I'm sure our old apartment is a mold factory now still waiting for them to "take care of it." It's too bad this place turned into a dump because they had so much potential. read more

I would only have nice things to say if there was anything nice about Pacifica Park Apartments. Keep in mind, this complex is owned by the same company, AIMCO, who have multiple lawsuits from former tenants. Google it! Before getting suckered into signing a lease, I hope they don't place you in the same 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in for less than 4 months. They care more about revenue than the safety and health of their tenants. I can give you about 100 reasons not to rent here but just the talk of this place makes my blood boil. Top 5 should convince you enough to stay the hell away from this property. 1. Unprofessional Staff- You would think that because you are interested in renting, they would be on top of things. Guess again. It took weeks at a time just to get a hold of someone to follow-up. That should have been a given right there, but having inquired at other complexes, this was the only one that was affordable, so we gave it a chance. There is absolutely no communication between tenant and management, and to top that off, There is no one ever at the leasing office! Maintenance staff except for Abebe is rude. You would see Roberto the Service Manager walk around with his cup of coffee, which for a fact he threw on our rack of belongings in our garage because of us complaining about the "Leaking Pipe". Plain and simple. You didnt do your job so why get mad at us? I am still unsure if Lori, the former community manger even exists. 2. Complex- Sure its nice on the outside, but for a complex that was built in 1996, you have paper thin walls, nails in the carpet, mold and to top it all, a leaking pipe in the garage. The former community manager Lori, (If you are to communicate with them, do it by email so you can have record of it) said that the liquid leaking onto my car is safe. REALLY? From a leaking bathtub, which the San Mateo County Housing and Health Department informed us it was a sewage pipe. From the day we moved in, the leaking started. After 3 months of filing complaints to the Better Business Bureau, Local TV Stations as well as The Health and Housing Dept, Maintenance and Management told us that the issue was resolved and offered us a giftcard for a carwash. Not only they insult you by thinking you're stupid, but if someone were to slip on a puddle or get sick from the leaking water that just spells LAWSUIT. Also, Walls except for the kitchen and bath are painted with a flat white paint. If you were to have anything lean on it, it will leave a mark, to appear that you have damaged it. Our broom was stolen in our own garage and Heavy set guy in maintenance blames the neighbors for stealing it. 3.Neighbors -Be expected to see different faces all the time. Not to mention solicitors entering the building without being buzzed in. The front door of 422 does not shut all the way and 3 service requests later, it still hasnt been fixed. People are rude here. The family in our complex, their kids invite all their friends over since their parents work nights and the paper thin walls dont help. I would be a jerk and snitch on the underage drinking and pot smoking but hey, ill leave it up to the next tenant who takes this dump. I was also asked multiple times by the same person who lives in the same building if i sell pot. Really?? Just a sense of what type of people live at the Beautiful Pacifica Park Apartments. 4. Deception- Whoever takes you on a tour, will take you to the Hickey blvd side and show the vacant apartment which probably is always vacant. Leasing staff would throw themselves under the bus. From "Many tenants have pets but dont tell us to save money" to "This area is generally safe, but the gas station got robbed a few months back" . They lie, they cheat, they steal. AIMCO possibly trains their staff to be idiotic and truly shows that they are in it for the profit. Isnt there a rental law that there has to be a number of days before another tenant can move in? One moves out, the other moves in not even a week. 5. Utility Billing/Parking - Broken sprinklers, the 1 bedrooms along Gateway that have access to a hose. I see tenants washing their cars. For what reason? Its Pacifica. Foggy everyday. Expect your water and sewage bill to be at least an additional $100+ due to these idiots. Parking is also ridiculous. If you do live here, you might as well park in the middle of the street because everyone does it. There are no tow trucks that will tow. You will also be charged $20/month per car per parking permit which is stupid because the people in the leasing office and maintenance already take up 6 spaces during business hours. If you do park on the hand painted red zones, your car is safe. Ready to move in? We moved out the 2nd week of August after ending the lease with no penalty. These apartments are one of the best I've been in. But there are pros and cons. I currently live in an apartment that are tower units in SFSU. I had been in a 2 bed 2 bath apartment tour here in Pacifica, but I still haven't moved here. --PROS Spacious and newly remodeled apartments. Hardwood floors (surprise!) Large closets and cabinets. Doesn't have fire alarms (I think). Working water Now for the cons. --CONS Not as large as I thought. The kitchen is too small. On one building, there was almost no paint covering it (so, yeah, it did look a little ugly). The rent price is nothing for the Bay Area. At around $2250 monthly, I think anyone can afford it. Other related apartments are too expensive it $3150. I'm new to this area, so don't make fun of me. Well, that's about it! read more

Clean, cute, and quite community. We've lived here for a year and a half and love our space, the amenities and our neighbors. Our 2br is modern and updated and even has a 2 car tandem style garage with washer and dryer. We utilize the dog park, gym, the bbq and fire pit. The grounds are maintained well and repairs are serviced quickly. This place is conveniently located with grocery, gas and freeway one block away. I don't know if there is another community that can top this one! read more

We are not renewing our apartment lease. I agree with the reviews on here. Too many problems for the price of renting. Our dishwasher needed to be replaced because it is old and over used. Maintenance came to fix which took 2-3 days because they had to order parts. I pay rent why didn't they just purchase a new dishwasher? We still don't use the dishwasher because it does not work properly, but maintenance says they fixed it. They did not. Asking by email for the code to the front door has not been given to me either and still in waiting. Most gross is the bathroom toilets. Company was over and flushed their poop and it went to the other bathroom. I am definitely not renewing our lease and when we moved in it had mold around the kitchen sink faucet, maintenance said it was the coloring of the marble. Maintenance folks at like they are the police over parking or anything you do and we are paying to live here with so many barriers. Overall, not happy here especially being charged for every little thing including the Parcel Package which is additional $50 you pay and you over charged $10 a day for a package you picked up. This causes undue stress and you should not have to pay rent for stress. Looking to move when our lease is up. read more

While we decided not to take the apartment, I must say that the leasing and office staff are simply wonderful. They were very patient with us throughout all our processes, gave us options on price and moving dates, followed up on every call we made, toured us wherever we needed and always smiling and cordial. The apartment that was shown to us looked well kept and all the little fixes we requested were addressed without any issues. I really liked living here for 2 years. You get what you pay for at the time was $1200 a month for 1BR 1 bath 800sqft, but my options were limited due to my 100lb American bulldog. I rented sight unseen and was average quality (older electric stove and microwave included). Shared/split water bill averages to $60-70 a month, the malfunctioning landscape sprinklers don't help, but you can take a 2hr shower if you feel like it. Trash is also extra, not included in rent. Allows cats and dogs for a $20 a month pet rent. Don't expect to get much of your security deposit back, got raped on check out day. Take a lot of digital photos in check in day, write down every single mark or problem then e-mail or print out to put in your file. Can get loud on the Gateway and Hickey street facing properties. It's better to face oceanside for more sun and quiet or facing towards the inside property parking lot. Radiant heater was not really needed too much kept the electric bill low under $30 a month even in the winter! The condos with garages have their own washer and driers. Guest parking on property is hit or miss, may have to walk a couple blocks after 4pm. Every rainy season the power goes out on half the property. Sometimes it is fixed quick, other times 2-3 days. Lived here for a few months before I reached my limit. Rude and unprofessional leasing agents. Don't even think about using the heaters, you will end up with a $700 PG&E bill your first month. No joke. Management will not care, and will tell you to "beg, borrow, or steal" in order to deal with the unexpected expense. The paint will peel from your bathtub in a couple of weeks. The intercoms don't work. Nobody is ever in the leasing office. The maintenance guys are awesome however. They always find a way to brighten your day. Otherwise, this place is awful. Full disclosure, I don't live here but my friend does. This review is purely for their dog park area which the dog friendly aspect is why they can command such a high rent. When I came to visit my friend 2 years ago and brought my dog who is 23lbs, my dog was able to escape the enclosed dog park by squeezing through the rails to chase after a cat. And there are a lot of stray cats in this neighborhood. At the time, I've only had my dog for 2 months and he didn't know his name much less listen to me. It was a miracle I got him back only bc the cat ran up a tree and I was able to grab him by the tree. Then a year later my bf was walking my dog past the dog park and there was a dog inside with his owners. That dog must have been 35+ lbs and it too squeezed through the rails and pounced on my dog. It was traumatizing for everybody. In both cases the gate was closed which gave us a false sense of security. I understand if a teacup dog escapes but this play area can't even contains medium size dogs rendering it useless. I was visiting my friend recently and noticed a lot of renovations but the dog park railings looked the same. I wanted to post this review so people there don't lose their dogs thinking it can't run away or become liable for injuries Bc their dog escaped and hurt someone. Update: per Carol's response, I have email them for escalation to the regional manager. Update 2: Nothing was done. Update 3: I walked by recently and they replaced the fence with one where small dogs will not be able to escape. The grass was replaced with artificial grass. Looks very good. Good job! I've lived in a few places throughout my time in the Bay Area. Places in San Jose, Santa Cruz, and a Few in San Francisco. Pacifica Park Apartments (or the "Pee pee apartments" as I grew to call it) was not the worst place that I have ever lived but it was very, very far from the best. While it did have some ok parts to it, it was generally a very mediocre apartment, a unattractive complex and poor renting agency. Lets start with the good things: The apartments seem somewhat new. They're quite clean when you move in. They have hardwood flooring and they have a washer/dryer unit in the building. There seemed to be a ton of storage within the apartment. The maintenance staff is incredibly responsive! Oh and there is a garage which you can comfortably park 1 car (or two very uncomfortably). There is quite a nice park nearby where you are able to take dogs or small children to play. It is close to a grocery store and pharmacy, though the grocery store sucks pretty bad in comparison to literally every other grocery store I've ever been to. Some of the bad things: Location. If you're a fan of absurdly cold, foggy, and just generally miserable weather than this is the place for you. This place is cold and foggy almost everyday. the pictures posted are not very indicative of the weather on any given day. The office people are never in the office. Seriously, they were gone all the time. it was very difficult reaching them if you needed something (I prefer to do things in person and face to face rather than submitting an online form). Parking is very difficult if you do not have a space in the garage. the garage is long and narrow, which is great for fitting one car. If you have more than one car good luck fitting two or get used to finding parking on the street (which is actually A LOT more inconvenient than you would imagine). I would check out the area in the evening if this situation applies to you! The price! these apartments are waaaaay too expensive for what they are offering. seriously chances are you can find a better place for a better price. There are no amenities to the complex. No gym, No pool, the dog area is little more than a small patch of grass, no bbqs, and no balconies on the apartments. I didn't think that I would miss these things that much but when I looked at other complexes I realized that they had most of these things for the same price range. The kitchen is super small. If you like to cook and have company you may want to realistically consider how small and confined the kitchen space is. The walls are paper thin. Televisions, radios, or moderately loud night- time activities (you know...) can be heard throughout the apartment. charming, I know. There are no elevators! If you have friends or family who are disabled or have a difficult time with stairs you can basically forget them ever visiting this place. The apartment complex generally seemed just kind of messy and trashy. Clearly some of this was from the inconsiderate dog owners who didn't pick up from their pets (this seemed like almost everyone who lived there) but also there seemed to be a lot of random trash and junk floating about the place. The bills are lumped and split equally throughout the entire complex. If you're the guy at the table who orders the salad and doesn't want to split the check evenly with the steak eater than this place is going to drive you insane. I was gone for about a month of the lease and the bills (water, garbage, heat, sewer, etc) were actually higher than the previous months. Very annoying for a person who actively attempts to be conscious of energy use. Lastly, when moving out I actively got the feeling that the mgmt was going to screw me on the deposit. And they tried. Were me and my housemate not vigilante about the move out inspection they definitely would have taken hundreds of dollars from our deposit. Someone didn't give these guys the message that they are LEGALLY BOUND to paint the place before the next tenant moves in, and that it is illegal for them to charge for normal wear and tear to the walls and paint. TL;DR This place is not the worst but far from the best. Unhelpful/unavailable/somewhat shady complex employees, inconvenient parking, bad location, messy complex, and very unexciting living spaces. Chances are you can find a much nicer and cheaper place with a little looking. read more

I have been a resident at Pacifica Park Apartments for about 8 months. My experience here has been wonderful from the moment I walked into the leasing office for my initial tour of the complex. The leasing staff are very friendly and helpful. I had my first maintenance request because my boyfriend lost his keys and I was out of town. It was midnight and he would be locked out after work, so I called maintenance and Greg very quickly stopped by to leave a set of keys in our parcel box. He saved the day for sure, then followed up with me to make sure the keys were recieved. The grounds are well kept and it's a quiet and peaceful area. Apartment was newly renovated with updated appliances and we get a nice cool breeze when the windows are open. Also within walking distance to the grocery store, Starbucks, restaurants etc. I feel safe and content here. :) read more

Worst management company ever ! I recently moved out of pacifica park and when i went to give my notice I was told that because my lease had ended and that i was now month to month i would have to pay for the entire next month to make matters worse the leasing agent was incredibly rude about it . Then to top it of before i even turn in my keys they start doing the renovating on the apartment to get it ready for the next tenant . So save yourself the headache this place is a waste of time you can find better ! If your thinking of renting here read the fine print they will milk you for every penny they can! read more

BEWARE!!!! the application process is very deceitful! what kind of twisted bullshit you guys are operating here!!!! if we didn't sign the lease why would we pay you $600 for security deposit! do not give me that answer Jorge Del Rio (leasing consultant) "as I mentioned holding deposit is non-refundable" because you are full of crap because you never mention anything!!! and I have proof!!! I will not risk $600!!! it was never mention that you are taking out $600 for "holding deposit" and or its "non-refundable"!!! For everybody or thinking of applying here! when you apply and pay for the application fee of $52 they are also charging you the $600 automatically without you knowing!!! Unless if you check your account! It was clearly stated "security deposit" in MOVE IN and NOT "non-refundable holding deposit if you cancel more than 24hrs"!!!!! its very deceitful!!!! I am happy we are not staying here!!! all CONS reviews about this place should be taken seriously!! you dont want to be the next victim of this scammers!!! There's NO such thing, just because we were approved of credit/background check and later decided not to sign the lease due to circumstances that you are going to twist everything and take advantage of the situation by saying that its a non-refundable deposit if we cancel! I was first impressed with how friendly and accommodating the staff were during the entire process. Everyone I have met here has been incredibly friendly and helpful. The apartments have been remodeled and are beautiful and the grounds are clean and well kept. For me the best part was how painless the application process was. There was no mountain of paperwork involved, I didn't have to give samples of blood from four generations back and then wait a week for a response. Nope, everything was online, quick, and painless. Great place to live. The maintenance staff is the best. My apartment is very cozy. This is a dog friendly environment, it is nice that they have a little dog park on the grounds. (Not a pet owner) I love seeing everyone with their dogs. Office staff is wonderful. The weather is really a drawback. It is heavy fog a good amount of the time. We have only been at Pacifica Park for a week and a half but are really enjoying it so far. The apartment was clean and freshly painted when we moved in. The dog park has a great community of nice people and big dogs who like to play together. And the cardio machines in the gym are loaded with features like YouTube video capabilities. read more

Just moved out after living n the community for over 2 years. Tried to schedule a pre-move out inspection. They skipped the appointment even though I changed my schedule to be available for these appointments 3 times. I asked to be contacted when they did the final move out inspection as the day I moved out was a holiday and they were no where to be seen for days before. I was never contacted then charged cleaning and painting fees. Watch out. You have a small deposit, but they will charge you when you move out more then your deposit. read more

I lived here for almost 5 years and not once did I encounter a problem with Staff or with the apt. I understand that I was obligated to pay the rent on time and when I struggled financially the last year I was there it was tough. I know they had procedures to follow and I complied. But after moving out my husband gets an email for the last rent we owed plus a bunch of other fees we owed dated back to August or September that same year up until the day we moved out which entailed pest control for the month, which mind you we didn't have any and other little fees that totalled $4K. This became a financial issue with me, be we have got it managed now. We financially couldn't live there any more even though we loved living there. But to be honest with you when we first moved in there we were paying $1830 and as the years passed the rent started increasing, on top of that I paid extra $$ a month for a garage and not only did they charge me for that but they charged me for a parking fee as well! Hello hence the extra I paid a month for the garage. And you paid for garbage the entire neighborhood dumped after hours. So by the time we had to leave, for us to renew our lease they wanted us to pay almost $3200 a month. I have never dealt with Aimco again and don't plan too. So I agree with some of the posts when they say they are price gouging. I still didn't think it was fair for me to pay for stuff from 3-4 months ago. I still have the email from them too stating how much I owed them. Although I'm being honest, the last couple of months we were there I did not pay rent on time, because of health issues with myself and my daughter but they got the rent with the late fee. And they didn't get the last months rent because I didn't have the money, and they billed me for it alright, amongst other fees to go with it. 5 stars for the previous employees that used to work there and were very helpful, but 2 starts for the company that runs it! read more

Jus a update, my 6th new neighbor in a 4 unit building ( no one stays past the lease ) fell for the same trick,they show you a nice unit then throw you in something janky. I felt sorry for the guy because they didnt tell him they had a leaking tub right ontop of his garage spot. So he parks his BMW and what do you know, everytime another neighbor showers all the dirty shower water pours on his car leaving soap scum and pubes......That was his first month here in hell he still got 11 more...............DONT BE A SUCKER.....I would give a good update if they gave a shit and would fix things. read more

The grounds are kept nice and clean and the staff are responsive and polite. You have to pay rent on your parking space which I think is gouging especially since parking in the neighborhood is terrible after work. I think that the price I am paying is too much but that goes for the whole area, not just this complex. The neighborhood is kind of noisy with planes flying close overhead from SFo, and being located near a main thoroughfare there is quite a bit of traffic noise. All that being said, the building and complex themselves are pretty nice. read more
