Not as amazing as the full Pacifica restaurant upstairs, but still offers that relaxing, zen spa like experience for a lot less dough. There are only a handful of tables that will score you an ocean view. The cafe has mostly sandwiches and wraps (plus a few well sized entrees) all under $10. Pacifica's famous sugar spiced salmon is available in sandwich or wrap form at the cafe, and the filet was surprisingly big. The mimosas are only $3 on Sundays and quite strong. I ordered the meatloaf and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived with crispy bacon tightly wrapped around it. There is even a kid's menu and a different deal each day! E.g. 15% off to locals on Mondays. You order at the counter and the food is brought out to you but the service is so good with a staff anticipating your needs that you'll want to tip anyway. I ate here for breakfast with friends while in Del Mar for a week. The restaurant is located on a terrace above street level with a nice view of the Ocean. The restaurant is super casual with mostly outdoor seating. After sitting at a table and reviewing the menu, you go inside to place your order and get a number. You need to pick up your own utensils and water. The reason we decided to eat here is that we had dogs with us, and dogs are allowed on the outdoor patio. I spotted a couple eating the Acai bowl when I arrived. It looked so good I had to walk over to their table and ask them what the dish was. Craving Mexican I went for the breakfast burrito. It was good, but nothing special. One of my friends has the sugar spiced salmon and it looked AMAZING! I was so mad I didn't order that dish and will definitely try it if I ever get the chance to eat there again. The place is super casual and laid back. My sister, daughter and I went to the Breeze last Tuesday for lunch. We all have had the sugar spiced salmon before and love it! So that's what we each ordered. To our shock, it was extremely spicy! I'd say about a 6 or 7 out of 10! We asked the waiter about it and he was shocked, saying that it's never spicy but rather a bit sweet. That's how we remembered it too. My daughter couldn't even eat hers. My sister and I ate ours, but had that mouth "tingle" from hot spice for several hours after. The waiter asked the chef and was told, " oops. I guess the night crew made the sauce twice as spicy as usual. Sorry...". I thought they should have comped us at least for my daughter's! I don't understand why the head chef wouldn't check the sauce before going ahead with the food prep. The sauce was red; obviously hot. I couldn't even taste the salmon. So disappointing. Not sure what has happened here, but it's not so great anymore. We used to love breakfast at this place and would go once or twice a month (a 35 minute drive for us) and have done so for 15+ years. We haven't been going as much since the "pandemic" but returned a few months ago and were disappointed. The food prices were up, and the portions down. The once awesome Salmon Hash is now just "meh" and nothing to get excited about, or to make you eager to return! Seems like the portion is a bit smaller too, yet of course the price is higher. Raise your prices, okay, we get that, but don't shrink the portion that people are used to receiving! We went back yesterday, because we had out of state family visiting and wanted to take them over to the coast for the day, starting out with breakfast at Breeze's. What a mistake! The once incredibly delicious oatmeal was now less than appetizing. This has been my favorite (though overpriced) "go-to" item at Breezes for years! But now, they've turned me away forever! It used to be served in a deep bowl (think hot!) but now comes in a wide and shallow bowl, and was delivered just barely luke warm. The last of the 3 toppings (macadamia nuts, golden raisins and dried cherries) was so gross I ended up fishing it back out of the now cold oatmeal so I could try to eat the rest of it! Finally I gave up and took it inside to let them know how bad it was. They comped me with a pastry of my choice, so I took a blueberry muffin. There were 4 of us, and fortunately everyone else's food was "alright" and so that's a good thing. (Egg dishes, not oatmeal). I'm so glad the lousy food was mine and not theirs! Super cute spot for brunch in Del Mar. There's a beautiful view of the ocean from most of the outdoor seats. Prices are reasonable for the area and food is actually very good. I had the salmon lox and avocado toast and my husband got the breakfast sandwich, we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Their breakfast potatoes are yummy! Crispy and flavorful. Waitstaff is also attentive and responsive. Definitely recommend this place! You can walk across the street to the beach after but be wary of the many bikers! It's in this little crook, and it's confusing where the entrance is, where to order. But once you understand it, it's fine. Limited seating. But what makes me give the 1-star rating is this -- As a waiter was cleaning up a table, he threw a cup of water into the trash can and missed. It got all over me. If you're in the Del Mar area and looking for a casual lunch, you could do a lot worse than the scenery at Pacifica's little lunch counter. I ordered a thai chicken wrap with some sweet potato chips on the side and it was a pretty tasty. It wasn't the most delicious thing I've ever eaten, but it was priced pretty fairly at around $10 and filled me up with one of the better ocean views in all of San Diego. They validate your parking in the garage for up to 2 hours as well so it's easier to access a meeting here over some of the other options in the area. The menu is pretty straight forward with salads, sandwiches, and other lunch time classics. You're not exactly going to be wowed by the variety, but you like your meals with a side of spectacular ocean landscape then look no further than the PBC. read more

It was a breeze to enjoy lunch on the ocean-view patio at the Pacifica Breeze Cafe. I ordered the Sugar-Spiced Salmon Sandwich for lunch, and Vin had the tasty Cuban Wrap. My salmon was tender and moist, and it snuggled in a fresh Mexican torta roll with arugula, red onion, and lemon-caper mayo. The mayo tasted plain to me, and I suggest that the chef boost the "lemon caper" flavors in the mayo. In fact I actually wondered if the kitchen gave me plain mayo by mistake. But I was hungry, and the salmon was perfectly cooked, so I ate the sandwich as is, and enjoyed it. My sandwich was $12.25, and it came with my choice of sauces...the homemade pasta salad was delish. I'm impressed with how responsive and generous the owner is. He refunded our money for a previous visit, when brunch was disappointing. He also gave us a gift certificate to try their sister restaurant upstairs, the Pacifica Del Mar, which we're looking forward to! I love the recipe for the Sugar-Spiced Salmon Hash at brunch, which is even better than the sandwich. The Sugar-Spiced Salmon Hash features salmon, feta, green onions, and potatoes, topped with a tantalizing mustard sauce. Since they sweeten the salmon just a little, it contrasts nicely with the mustard sauce. This brunch entree would be even more spectacular if the potatoes had a crispier texture. You need to order at the counter, and they'll deliver your food to your table. However they won't deliver your drinks. Don't forget to pick up your drinks on the other end of the L-shaped counter! I do wish they'd deliver the drinks too, as I don't like standing and waiting for my iced latte. The menu says "Full Bar Available", if you fancy a cocktail with your ocean view. Although our reliable weathermen predicted cloudy, the sun came out this afternoon so off we went to look for a place outside to eat with Apricot our dog. We haven't been to del mar in a while so we decided on Pacifica on Del Mar because they allow dogs on the patio area. We have been to Pacifica before and know they serve breakfast and lunch until 4 pm. Apparently breakfast ends at noon so we ordered some bloody marys and lunch items. FIrst, you had to locate the menu yourself because the box that is supposed to contain the menus was empty. Next you fall in line to wait to give your order and then you are given your number to wait for your food on a table you have preselected or saved so that you will not be caught without a table. First bad sign of the service, a server was going around looking for the customers to deliver their order. He must have circled around two or three times asking each of the tables that had numbers if this was their order. Apparently there are a couple of tables on an adjacent patio area/walkway. He should have known better. The customer finally figured out this was their order and told him where they are. Brian came back frustrated with his order and telling me he over ordered but that is his problem sometimes. Of course based on the observations of the servers, we got only two things right the first time, an order of fries and pastrami sandwich and they were pawning off the shrimp pasta when Brian had ordered quesadillas. The first delivery was the wrong cake which preceded the second wrong delivery. Sad to say that only the BMs displayed any kind of pleasure for our afternoon beside the weather. It was Burger Time in Del Mar. I was location scouting with a client in Del Mar and it was time for lunch. He suggested Pacifica Breeze Cafe. Cool, it has a view and a nice patio. I felt like a burger, so I got the grilled burger. OK, caramelized onions, cambazola cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and 7-grain bun. I've never had cambazola cheese and the cashier warned me that I could swap it out with something safer like cheddar. No way! Cambozola is a cow's milk cheese that is a combination of a French soft-ripened triple cream cheese and Italian Gorgonzola. It is made from the same blue Penicillium roqueforti mold used to make Gorgonzola, Roquefort, and Stilton. Cream is added to the milk, giving Cambozola a rich consistency. The rind of the cheese is similar to the Camembert rind. Cambozola is considerably milder than Gorgonzola. It features a smooth, creamy texture with a subdued blue flavor. All I have to say it was a pretty darn good burger and the cambozola cheese added a nice, funky zing to the flavor. The fries were good, crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. My client got the Mulligatawny Soup and damn it looked good. It came in two small bowls and I was dying to try some. Not cool to reach over and sample from a client. Oh well. Salmon is much healthier than bacon, and despite me loves me some bacon, for eggs benedict, I really do prefer smoked salmon. DTMB ordered the Wild Mushroom Hash. My eggs benedict with Salmon was absolutely heavenly. The hollandiase sauce was light and citrusy. I finished the entire thing - and I think the benedict being served on a croissant is a nice change up. Instead of fries, I ordered a side of fruit instead. Perfectly spiced and flavorful. Potatoes were my kind of breakfast potatoes; crispy on the outside and fluffy inside with a garlic salt topping, I believe. I ordered the simple Del Mar Power Breakfast: egg white scramble with mushrooms and spinach, black beans, steamed broccoli and HOMEMADE wheat tortillas! Came here for lunch and had a great experience. Love the outdoor seating and the slight view of the ocean. I ordered the vegetarian wrap with grilled chicken. Didn't think it would be anything special but it was spot on delicious. The dressing inside the wrap was yummy. Only thing was that the bottom of the wrap got a lil soggy from the dressing. You also get a choice of yam chips, salad or pasta salad. The yam chips are sooo good. The passion berry ice tea was fresh brewed and also really good. We ordered the Corned Beef Hash and Beef Short Rib Hash both of which were amazing because they were made California style not the traditional style. Both dishes had cut up potatoes, with onions & peppers with two poached eggs on top. We also ordered a side of bacon, my wife had a Bloody Mary which she said was amazing. I had the coffee and it was fresh and very good tasting. If you are in the Del Mar area, I highly recommend this place. You have the choice of outdoor seating with a view of the ocean or you can sit upstairs in side. I used to love this place. Perfect place for a healthy brunch that overlooks del mar beach. However, my last visit I noticed the place is running down. I went at around 2pm, not busy at all and somehow it took 20 minutes for 2 wraps to come out. Their menu has also changed and they no longer offer salad wraps. All their wraps are loaded with meat and cheeses, which is good for some people but not for me. The cuban wrap was just dripping oil and grease, it was worse than a mexican food place. Sad to say, I won't be coming back here again.. There's plenty of other healthy brunch places around. read more

I parked across the street at the meters which $ goes towards the church Awesome! I smelt the burgers but I thought I'd look at the menu here first. They have a huge breakfast menu including acai bowls&, mimosas. They also have a lunch menu & wine & beers. The wraps caught my attention,but once I heard its not the combo sandwich & salad. I ended up getting lunch combo instead. Cesar salad & soup w/ big slices of shitaki mushroom, watercress were crunchy & onions. The guy that described it said clam chowder but the soup base wasn't creamy. It tasted watery mushroom soup. The salad was so tiny with not much dressing, it was just okay. But for $11 I think I pass. At least they had my favorite Pellegrino Limon Yum!! I saw a lot of people out on the patio drinking coffee. I was going to order a coffee to go but spent more than I wanted. Maybe next time just get coffee read more

My morning spent at Pacifica for breakfast was absolutely delightful. I sat out on the shaded patio that overlooks the ocean. It was incredibly tranquil and was such a relaxing way to start off my day. The music is wonderful and my food was really tasty. I ordered the Oatmeal which apparently is a local favorite and it was simply delicious. My guest ordered the Croissant Eggwich which was mouthwatering. We were served by Mateo who was incredibly efficient, kind and handsome. I took note of him because he had one of the best early morning attitudes, which is rare to come by these days. I will definitely be back here for more relaxing mornings and delicious food. read more
