"We can get there in 2 to 3 hours..." "That'll cost $390." Then I called Toro's and spoke directly with the owner-operator! He knew exactly where I was stuck and how to get there quickly, and was familiar with the shop I wanted to get towed to. Around 20 minutes later, he was on scene, deftly backing his wheel lifts up to my truck to get it hooked up quickly and efficiently. Soon he was unloading me at the destination shop. We thought we were well-covered with USAA Roadside Assistance, but after multiple delays from their contracted vendor (Agero) and over 2 hours of waiting, we took the matter into our own hands and reached out to Doug at AA Tech. He was there within minutes, got our spare tire on and proceeded with finding and installing a new full-sized tire. He was both professional and personable. We were on our way home within an hour. Our truck suddenly lost all engine oil while we were driving on the 5, pulling our trailer with our small children in the car. We were stuck on the side of the freeway, unsure of what to do. I've had AAA for 12 years and had only used it once before, so I didn't even realize there were different coverage levels--but even without full coverage, the support we received was amazing. AAA quickly dispatched Unified Towing, and from the moment they contacted us, they went above and beyond. After hearing our situation, they helped coordinate with AA Tech Roadside Solutions to figure out how to get our trailer home (over 100 miles!). Yes, it was $ since I didn't have the right coverage (and thats on me)--but the service, speed, and care we received made it worth it. Both towing companies worked together seamlessly and even waited for each other to make sure everything was handled safely--especially with our kids involved. A huge thank you to Luz, Adam, and especially Ron, who drove us and our trailer all the way home. Every single person we spoke to was kind, patient, and genuinely cared about getting us home safely. I try to catch him to see what he speed was, and he was doing mph. The speed limit on El Mirage Rd is 60.
