One-word answers tend to be a good indicator of, "get what came for and get out..." or "we don't serve 'your kind' here." Here's a tip to the owner- be nice to everyone. Give great service even to the gay hippies. Who knows, they might be a hardcore fisherman with lots of money to burn and just might buy half the stuff you got to fill up their tackle box.
