Do NOT move here. I read the reviews and went for it anyway but I regret it. My roommate and I move in during September and since then kill spiders DAILY. They are always in my shower, crawling around the house, and in my bed. We are extremely clean people so cleanliness has nothing to do with this. Tonight I had a flying termite in my room and my roommate has had multiple centipedes in her room. We are sick of it. Don't move here unless you want bugs. Management has sprayed multiple times but it does nothing, the spiders just continue coming. Disgusting. No peace of mind. read more

This place was never very good. Police. Gang activity. Child drowning in pool. Heavy drinking and loud music at pool - I don't go to pool area because I don't want to be harassed by large groups of drunk men. Maintenance can't fix things on the first try.... However, the management has decided to terrorize the residents. The management is giving eviction notices over plants, plant stands, and because they think you have too many plants, surf boards (in a surf community), Ring door cameras. Management has created a "community rule" that nothing should be visible when your window shades are open. Management has stated that you can't have inside A/C units because they don't want the vents seen. Management towed a resident vehicle that had current tags, was insured, and drivable because she didn't like the way it looked. Management has decided that you can't have a door mat that they find objectionable - it could be wording or simply the color. Management is going into completely enclosed patios and moving and removing personal items they find objectionable. Management has been caught on camera lingering around apartments like a stalker. Management steals water from residents to do property maintenance. Many residents, who are quiet and pay on time for years, feel terrorized and traumatized. read more

After reading some of the other reviews I'm shocked. I've lived here for 3 months and have had nothing but professional service from the guys in the office and maintenance men. This place is not perfect but everything I've asked them to fix they have done it later that day. My view is amazing, it's right next to everything in San Clemente, and the landscaping is well kept and clean. Overall I think the Lyon Communities is doing a good job as this is the second apartment I've rented from them. read more

Worst place to rent. Infested with cockroaches management doesn't care. Old dilapidated apartments that maintenance "fixes" using play dough and plastic bags. I'm not shitting you they literally did!!!! The staff steals bikes scooters etc. corporate is well aware and still hasn't fired the employee. After I moved out and threw out literally everything I owned so I didn't bring the roaches with me to my next apartment pacific pointe billed me for outrageous things including things that were broken before I moved in and are logged on the walk through sheet!!! Then they put it on my credit after I refused to pay the bogus charges. Now I can't get another apartment until I resolve this issue. I urge anyone else who's gone through the same to report them to the BBB (better business bureau) and to rate on yelp. read more

I have been working on this property for several months now and David the service manager has been on top of all request. By far the best service manager I have ever had to deal with. From the beginning, the staff completely lied to me. Staff member Ailenjoyce Cerezo stated to me that the application fee would be waived when I began the process of obtaining an apartment...it was not. She also stated that I would be putting down a deposit of $200 which would be returned if I pulled out during a reasonable time period. After 48 hours circumstances arose where I could not get the apartment. I informed a staff member there that I would not be able to get the apartment and he stated that my deposit would be returned. It has been three weeks and not only has my deposit not been returned, they have not returned the two messages I left during business hours. My advise to all that are looking at apartments in this area is to look for another complex that has staff with professionalism and honesty. Don't rent an apartment here!! My apartment got broken into by the previous renter that lived in my apartment before me. They never fixed the sliding door and the previous renter knew exactly where to apply pressure to and the door opens right away. The neighborhood is terrible the people that live in the area are really sketchy not once did I feel safe in my own neighborhood. Only decided to live here because I'm a first time renter and was the only place that would accept me due to the fact that I'm a young college student with barely an average credit score. Problem after problem with this place. I've got a giant hole in my bedroom ceiling because a broken pipe was leaking through my roof! Came home from work and my mattress was soaked. Another time me and my roommates had to vacate the apartment for 5 days because there was mold growing in the cabinets. Also, a month after we moved in another pipe broke leaking extremely hot water under the bathroom floor. We had to vacate again while plumbers drilled a hole through my bedroom wall and in the bathtub. Had to remove my roommates toilets to access through there. Ridiculous. Then don't get me started on the gardeners. How many times a week do they need to trim the bushes directly outside my bedroom window? Lots of kids running around making noise. A very non-impressive gym. The only good thing this complex may have going for it is the fact that it is directly off the freeway. read more

I am writing this review because they left a paper on my door saying to leave a review from Jose Jordan. Jose showed me the apartment and did my paperwork but he messed up on everything and now I have to pay extra money. Do not go to jose he will ruin your paperwork. My apt literally still had pee on the toilet when I moved in, im only living here cause it's close to base and that's it. Also they have horrible customer service, I had an ad that said rent was $1550 and within the 10 minutes of me doing paperwork it jumped up to $1600. Do not rent here! I moved here in 2016 and i lived with roaches because of my downstairs neighbor for a year! I kept complaining that i knew it was from them and they said they found nothing. When they checked my apt again they said they found nothing. I asked them to pull out my dishwasher and finally they found a dozen dead roaches. The neighbors downstairs moved out and surprise no more roaches. NOW they served me with a notice saying i had too much on my balcony because my sons bike was on the side of the balcony. Really people??? I pau 1673 for a one bedroom.... i should have whatever i want on my balcony. I pay for it. read more

Beautiful location, lovely views, good neighbors, competitive rates, but what sets Pacific Pointe apart from the other "corporate" apartment complexes I've lived in over the years is the STAFF. Primarily, Christina and Dennis, who run Pacific Pointe as if it's a quaint mom and pop operation they own themselves. High professionalism, high energy, fast response times. I have lived here for over a year now, and this place is pretty chill...much better than any of the other apartments I looked at in San Clemente...its slightly higher rent than some of the other places, but its well worth it if you have kids...I have an elementary aged child, so places like Whispering Winds up behind Albertsons was a no-go...too much riff-raff...this place is much better... I have had a few small issues with maintenance, but it was all taken care of in a reasonable manner. Management has always been receptive with any of my concerns or complaints. I have a great view, noise is at a minimum and I never see cops here. I'm not sure what the other reviews earlier this year are talking about, frankly...I was asked to leave a review too...by Elizabeth...she is straight-forward to deal with...she emails me same day, and takes care of what she says she will...and that's nice, because I work, and can't always answer the phone...I don't have time to follow up on everything. Elizabeth is friendly and genuinely concerned...always has a smile...same with Jose, he is prompt returning my calls...and is a straight shooter...I think they make a pretty good team...and this is my 3rd apartment...so I have much to compare to... Hope this helps anyone looking for an apartment...this place should definitely be on anyone's short-list! read more

STAY AWAY!!! I would give less than one star if I could. The place reeked of cigarette smoke when I moved in even after they deep cleaned the carpets at my request. Management was supposed to do a walk through to talk about any issues with the apartment we wanted addressed and they never called me back. They came in and cut holes in our ceilings without so much as a notice that they would be entering our apartment. The holes were left there for more than a day and then they re-entered with no notice to patch them. Then they sent me a survey to see if I was moving out and I filled it out saying that I would not be renewing my lease...in writing. However, that didn't count and now on this last two days of my lease, I learn that I'm responsible for another month of rent because I didn't write to them and say, hey I'm moving. Why sign a lease for a set period of time if you can't actually move out at said set time. Needless to say, this has been the worst experience I've ever had in an apartment complex and I've lived in quite a few. The management team is unattentive and lax in doing their job and the owners love putting the fine print in the paperwork so they can suck money out of people. It should not be legal. read more

I have lived here for 2 years and just renewed my lease for another. The property itself is clean and well maintained, and I have had a few issues over the past couple years with maintenance, which the staff has responded to right away. They have always been more than accommodating with any issue I have had, such as disruptive neighbors or pets. The location could not be better, easy freeway access and a great panoramic ocean view! Best priced apartments in this area by far! The office staff is always inviting us to BBQ's, pool pizza parties, etc. Very family oriented and a great place to live. read more

My wife and I have lived here for almost 2 years. The property is clean and very well maintained. The Management staff is always helpful and friendly and Elizabeth in the office is excellent to deal with (see her!). When we arrived here we checked all around and for the price Pacific Point is an great value. We have only had expected maintenance issues with good response on repairs. I have read a few post's by James H. and Jean B. and don't believe they had all those problems. Sometime people get angry over their own problems and management is just following the rules so they take it out on these anonymous post's. I know a lot of renters hear and never heard anything close to these problems. We will stay here another 2 years if my job lasts! read more

We have had some issues with some appliances in the home; and the leasing office/ workers moved fast to help us. Everyone in the front office has been so nice. This place is so pathetic and dingy. Went here when we were first moving to San Clemente to see what they had to offer. They have nothing to offer. Unprofessional staff, extremely outdated units, crummy location right on the freeway. If you go on craigslist I'm sure you have seen one of their 500 ads on there. Just so you know, spamming craigslist with your ads makes you, as a corporate housing solution, look desperate and unprofessional. Be sure to check this place out in person to see what it actually is like, because the pictures are very misleading. read more

My family and I came to Pacific Pointe to lease for a limited time.......but are staying longer than we expected. We can't find another place that compares with the well kept landscaping and the peaceful environment......not to mention the great prices of the apartments. I've been here for a couple of years. The manager, Mike, is very helpful, but Jose is terrible. If ever you put in a fixing order, MAKE SURE it's put in. I had to put in a single order 3 times to get the electric box fixed. The electricity was cutting out, which in turn cut out my cable and internet, but it is also a potential fire hazard which I stressed. I waited over a couple of weeks then checked on the order status. It wasn't even in. I put it in again. Then waited another week. Nothing. Finally the third time the electricity went completely out, and he said someone would be there within an hour. I called him 5 hours later. He told me someone would fix it. I waited... 2 days. Throughout the whole time, Jose treated me like a pest as if I was an absolute inconvenience. I'm sorry I came into the office multiple times bc I was living w/o electricity like colonial times, but if they would've put in the order and taken care of it the first time then maybe it could've all been avoided? These apts are a little old, so occasionally you will need something fixed. Usually it goes pretty smooth. Usually. Unfortunately that wasn't the only incident, but none was as dire as the electricity. Just don't have expectations is all I can say. Otherwise, the location is great... read more

I am writing this in regards to the service we have experienced so far. My husband and sister and I moved into our 2 bedroom apartment in March of 2014. Since moving in we have encountered quite a few problems. First upon filling out or application, The price jumped from $1600 to $1669 which isn't a huge jump but it makes a difference. After filling out the application and running a credit check they said we were required to put a deposit which is understandable. After paying the deposit and thinking everything was going to be good, they called and asked for an additional security deposit , and said it was because we have very little renting history?!?! We have never heard this at any complex. So again we paid the deposit. Finally we moved in and everyone in the office was really nice and helpful. Then our dishwasher broke and flooded my kitchen and from there the fun started. We complained for 2 weeks until someone came out just to even look at it. After that they said the pipes needed to be flushed. They came out and ran CLR through the pipes and said it was fixed. NO....... it still leaks when we used it, so we stopped using it. Next our washer and dryer hot and cold lines were mixed up and that took my husband and my sister both complaining for a week until they finally came out and fixed it. So on top of all that all the electricity for our fan in our kitchen messes with the plug for our tv and outlets in our living room. So again we said something and they came out turned on our fan and said oh its not doing it now, so we cant fix it!!!! GRRR..... So now our new issue is people complaining about my service dog and The office is now trying to make us pay a pet deposit. It against fair housing act to charge someone for a service animal, and still the problems go on! Really consider finding another community to live in before moving in With Pacific Pointe! read more
