When I called to ask about it, I was told the company was busy, then that the referral company should have told me, and there were no notes on their end. It felt frustrating at first with a lot of back-and-forth. To their credit, they eventually refunded me the full amount, which I really appreciate. I'm glad they made it right, but I hope in the future they communicate fees clearly upfront to avoid confusion for other customers.

My landlord gave it a look over, and initially called a different company. That company could not commit to a date/time, giving general "we'll send someone over Wednesday", and then it was Monday, and then it was Friday. My landlord then called Sun Electric, and I'm so glad he did. Richard called on Wednesday, which went straight to my VM. I call him the following day (Thursday), and we scheduled for Friday 9am. He was EARLY. He immediately got to work, identified the issue, called for parts, and had the AC unit up and running in 3 hours! Much mahalo for keeping us cool! I *hate* making phone calls, but the receptionist was SUPER nice, so that immediately put me at ease. Their quote was flat rate and very reasonable so I was happy I wouldn't be guessing how much it would come to at the end. She apologized for not being able to get me in the week I called but was able to fit me in the next week - which was faster than I had expected! The technician came at the quoted time and took about an hour, which is how long they had told me on the phone. It says something about other companies on island that this is a noteworthy comment! He was very friendly and worked quickly and efficiently. He showed me the visible spots he had cleaned, but the best thing is now our AC is back to being icy cold - I had to bump it up to make it warmer! - and it smells nice and clean.
