My wife and I recently purchased and had installed a 12x16 foot patio from Pacific Builders, Sacramento, CA. We have a couple of friends that have a Pacific Builders patio and upon their recommendation. So summarizing our purchase and transaction: I made a call to Pacific Builders and set up an appointment for an estimate, price details, etc. I spoke with Operations Manager Dave McKeehen. He came to our residence and gave us an estimate. He was most knowledgeable and never at any time pressured us into purchasing patio without first thinking transaction through. He first explained to my wife and I that Pacific Builders have been serving the greater Sacramento area for over 58 years and was and is a Better Business accreditated company with an A+ rating. He next showed us a catalog containing various patios, costs of each and different features offered on each. When finished with this transaction, Mr. McKeehen measured the patio size we wanted for our yard, gave us an estimate and business card, advising us to give him a call if we decide to go with Pacific Builders. There was NO pressure from Mr. McKeehen at any time. My wife and I did get three (03) additional estimates from patio builders in the greater Sacramento area. I will add that the three additional estimates received were in close proximity pricewise as Pacific Builders cost. However, I was informed by each that yes, their company was a BBB accreditated member. After checking the internet I quickly discovered that only two of the companies were actually BBB accreditated members and furthermore no of these companies had the length of time (58 Years) as Pacific Builders in serving the Sacramento area. So, all said and done, my wife and I are most happy with our patio, including the professional service rendered by the Pacific Builders personnel staff, especially to Operations Manager Dave McKeehen, Engineers Richard and Robb. The office staff member Rowena was especially helpful and providing us info via phone and various other requests. So good luck on your choice of patio builders - there;s quite a few out there. Pacific Builders have been absolutely fantastic! When searching for a contractor, there are three attributes that we want. 1. Punctuality - when the work is supposed to be started, they start. When the work is supposed to be finished, they finish. 2. Cleanliness - Besides the work being done on time, they clean up the job at the end of each day and do their best to limit an overall mess inside and out of my house. 3. Transparency - This is more of an all-encompassing attribute that we search for. The job is laid out, planned, and executed. There are no hidden angles or costs. I can honestly say that Dave (the owner of the company) and his team hit all three attributes and have truly exceeded our expectations. We knew that Pacific Builders was a family-owned business, and throughout the process we've felt like part of the Pacific Builders family. From the initial meeting with Dave, his team worked collaboratively to create a design that matched our vision for our four-season sunroom addition built off the back of our house. If you are looking for a patio cover customized to your liking, l HIGHLY recommend Pacific Builders. They provided excellent customer service from beginning to end. Dave came to my home to provide the estimate. He listened as I described what I wanted, he took measurements, made suggestions, drew the design and gave me an estimate with no pressure to buy. He was extremely patient, wasn't in a rush and answered all of my questions. He genuinely wanted to ensure I was getting the patio cover I wanted. Jim, the foreman came out to take exact measurements in preparation for the design plan & building permit. Tomas and his crew poured the concrete, Jesus and his amazing crew quickly constructed & installed the patio within hours. They were so meticulous about their work and had a great time while they worked! Joshua put together and installed my ceiling fan and Monty added the final touch by installing my shade screens. Due to their scheduling needs as well as my own, it took a little over a week to complete. I absolutely LOVE my patio cover. Pacific Builders was referred to us by my wife's Grandmother, who had work done on her house back when the original owners were Mary and Fred Degen. The new owner, Dave, came out to property and gave a free consultation on a patio we wanted to build. Dave was awesome, he was straightforward and very helpful in designing the patio. He even invited us out their workshop/office on the weekend when they were closed, to accommodate my wife and I work/life schedule. At the workshop, we were able to look and touch the patio materials and even stood on the roof of on one of the patio that was in their workshop. During the construction, Dave was always communicating with us, giving us updates and seeing if we needed anything else from him. When we had an issue with the look our tile roof blending in with patio, Dave instantly communicated with us and sent his roof specialist to take care of the issue. My wife and I are very pleased that we chose Pacific Builders to build our backyard patio. The patio definitely added another room to our house for hosting family and friends. Fortunately I didn't check out Yelp before hiring Pacific Builders or I probably wouldn't have hired them for my patio cover. My experience was quite the contrary to the reviews I have just read. I had a very large project that consisted of 3 patio covers. One of the covers needed to have footings poured and steel inside so that the number of columns could be reduced to only 2 due to the size and location of the cover. Pacific Builders was the only contractor of 4 that I had come out to guarantee the saw cuts in the concrete patio would be completely covered by columns holding up the cover. The other guys wanted to saw cut the concrete then do a tile inlay. That would be nice but I have a total of 8 columns holding up the covers. The tile would make it obvious something was different. When all was said and done, even though it took an extra day to finish all the covers are uniform and there is no visible difference between the cover with the footings and steel and the other 2. We had one minor issue where I had to call Rob but that was handled within 3 days, which is very reasonable. Overall I am extremely pleased with the results and the customer service has been great. read more

We've been working with Pacific Builders for about 7 months. We started communicating with them before our house was built to price different options for our backyard. From the time we signed paperwork, to the time we were finished was a few months. Mother Nature and her rain played the only part in delaying our concrete, which delayed the patio cover. It was SO worth the wait. Bob, the concrete guy, was so efficient and kept the lines of communication open. We had his personal cell phone number! He went above and beyond to make sure our backyard was draining properly, even contacting the builder to rectify the problem they created. Once Alan, the builder, came out, we also had his personal cell number. Being that communication plays a large part of customer satisfaction, PB makes sure that communication is open. Love that!! Our fan is being installed on Friday (because again, they're working with our schedule) but we couldn't be more happy with the turn out. I foresee many new memories in our new backyard, made more enjoyable by our amazing patio cover!! read more

So use these professionals and you become like one of the family. They constructed a 10 by 60 awning on my mobile office out on my farm. It looks great. They dealt with all the county permits and paperwork. They has wait patiently for my great roofer to finish his wonderful job, (see Straight Line Construction). Then there was the painting that had to be done before their installation and finally it's been raining and raining. Through all the issues and delays they were accommodating, helpful and wonderful. In addition, the awning looks great and the crews they sent for each part of the installation were friendly, efficient and very hard working. No leaning on the shovel with these guys. There were special issues, of my doing, that they dealt with. There was even a change that had the pillars on the plans moved to save a view. They are great, I can't say enough and it's done now and I couldn't be more pleased. Just hire them. Don't bother to mess around. Grin !!!!! And they will be back for the carport on the other side next year. read more

Dave, Jim, and team Pacific Builders did an awesome job on our Sunroom and Patio Cover. They guided us from the beginning to the end with unconditional services and communication. From the start, my wife and I went to the showroom to understand the material grades and planning endless possibilities. Dave gave us financial options and approved on the spot under one roof! After the blueprints and city approval, Jim and the hardworking crew came in and built our Sunroom and covered Patio immediately. What an awesome transformation! The benefit to our sunroom is early morning we enjoy the sun rays of light penetrating to the open windows. We gain about 187 sq feet of living space. We are using half of the space as a living room and the other half as exercise gym. On the covered patio side, we enjoy the cook out and gazing out the nights to see the stars. We love it! We walk in the pacific builders office and told them that we need there help in getting the engineering specs the county need for our patio that was put up without a permit. We don't know who put it up. Rick the owner himself came out and assure us that he will help us get the specs. He said he will talk to one of the engineers. He is honest, dependable and meant what he said. Thank you for the engineer, who provide us the specs. We were there Wednesday, I got a call Monday the specs is ready! They did not charge us a penny. Bless there heart, I know that there are still people out there who have a kind heart and willing to help people like us, and don't expect anything in return. I told my family about them, my friends and will recommend to anyone I know. They are reliable and we are really thankful for the help they gave us. We really appreciate very much. I first learned of Pacific Builders at last year's Home Show. Booked an appointment that day. Lawrence arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He was prepared with information, photos and gave me a drawing and estimate for a patio cover. I wanted some changes in the original design, so he came back made the changes and I decided to move ahead with the cover. I live in Campus Commons and needed approval from our HOA...unfortunately I ran into some problems with the material we wanted to use and it ended up taking months to work out the issue. During that time Robert Nelson and all the others I spoke with at Pacific Builders helped me through the process. In the end I now have a beautiful patio cover made from the "Ultra Wood"! Since then I have had several neighbors come by to admire my cover. So naturally, when it came time to change out our patio slider for French doors, I called Dave. Thankfully he's still there and remembered my wife and me by name. Pacific Builders has a beautiful showroom, and their sales rep, Steve (not the Steve mentioned in the other reviews), is very knowledgeable and was so helpful in making sure that I got the patio I wanted. From beginning to end, the process was efficient and well-coordinated. They started the job when they promised, and it was completed without any delays. The construction crew was polite and professional, and I was impressed with their care for detail. They even sprayed the wasps that were trying to build a nest on my roof. Pacific Builders installed my cover a few months ago. I was excited when Dave the consultant came to my home to show me the many styles of patio covers that was available. He was very pleasant, professional and patient. I made a few changes with upgrades before the job was started. When the materials were ready the crew along with the electrician completed the job in a few days. After the job was completed I wanted a skylight flashing added to a side opening to block rain and allow sunlight. Monty from the crew came up with an idea and made it happen. I recently remodeled my master bathroom utilizing Pacific Builders. My in office contact was Don, who I enjoyed working with very much. He included me in all the details and was very accommodating with my special requests. He and I both went to 101 Building Supply together and I was able to choose my granite slab for the new counter top. I was also very pleased with the actual contractor who did all of the work at my house. It was great having just the one person and his Son in my house v.s. having numerous different people going in and out. I got to know "Jimmy" well and he got to know me and what I expected from him. The consultant that came out to show me what was available was very pleasant and understanding. He showed me what was available, and kept in mind my budget. We decided it was time to remodel/update our bathrooms. We looked around & gathered 3 estimates and the best price and product availability was Pacific Builders. OMG - we could not be happier. Our b-rooms are totally beautiful, the installation crew was amazing, they were very friendly, professional and everyday after they were finished, they cleaned up so you wouldn't even know they were there. They answered any/all of our questions, asked us about where to place accessories and seemed like they were done in no time. Our only regret was that they didn't do kitchen remodels. Dave came out to give us a consultation 6 years ago. Dave is very courteous, professional, and efficient. Our home awning blew off in a horrible wind storm. Pacific Builders got the replacement job because they came highly recommended and have been in business 75 years. (That was reason enough to choose them.) The owner and his staff are incredible to work with and they call back in a timely manner, answer questions, and never once left us in the dark about anything. We love our screened in room that was installed by Pacific Builders. The room overlooks the backyard and our pool and significantly increased the pleasure of our living and eating space with no bugs and bees to ruin our eating and lounging enjoyment.
