The incompetence of this place boggles my mind. Don't come here for service on your BMW.
I made an appointment on Tuesday (3/11) to drop off my car on Saturday (3/15). Gave the service department all my information when I scheduled my appointment. I dropped my car off Saturday morning at 8:30 am. They told me they may not finish with the car on the same day, so I might need to get a loaner. I said okay, but that I'd come back to get a loaner if necessary.
My service rep was Mike Hur. At 2:30 pm, I called Mike to check on the status so I could figure out whether I needed a loaner. Nobody picked up. I called again at 3:30pm. Nobody picked up, but this time I left a voicemail. At 4:10pm, I get a call from Mike Hur. He told me he could not service my car because it was not under warranty anymore. He told me he could not find my warranty information, and that I should return by 5pm to pick up my car.
I get there at 4:40pm. I have a 2011 328i, and on a document Mike showed me, it said warranty until March 2015 or 50,000 miles, neither of which I had hit.
I asked why I didn't have warranty when the document clearly showed that I do, and he responded that even though I'm supposed to have warranty, this "icon" on his computer that he clicked couldn't pull it up. He said the date printed on my information "wasn't an agreement," and he said he could not reach the BMW service department.
I had to go to a 6pm dinner from Glendale to Anaheim, so I told him I'll deal with this and just get me my car. This was about 4:50p. The guy paging my car said it will take less than 10 minutes to get my car. I waited until 5:30p before they told me, "well, your car is ready, but it's kind of dusty. If you want it washed, it will take another 20 minutes." Seriously? You didn't do ANYTHING to my car, of course its ready. And it's been sitting here for 8 hours - you couldn't even have washed it during that time?! Total, complete incompetence.
As to the car wash, I heard them telling this to multiple other people that were waiting, so my guess is that they don't wash a lot of people's car after service, and they wait until you're already there, then ask you in the hopes that you're a busy person and will just say no, so they can be lazy and not have to do it.
Anyway, so here's the point of my rant about Pacific BMW and Mike:
1) If you couldn't find my warranty in your computer system, tell me that when I am making the appointment, or when I dropped off the car at 8:30 in the morning on Saturday. Or, even if you realized it later, be professional and CALL ME in a timely manner. Rather, I had to call twice and leave a voicemail before Mike called back at 4:10 (7.5 hours after he held my car) to tell me they refused to service my car.
2) Fix you own system glitch. As far as I am concerned, my warranty until 2015/50,000 miles IS an agreement. It was an agreement made to me by BMW when I purchased the car. You wasted my time due to your own incompetence at figuring out your computer system. (Mike's reasoning: "When I click on this icon...it wouldn't show me anything." Well tough. Fix it.) And he was totally unapologetic about it too. He didn't even OFFER me the option of having them fix my car issues and potentially billing me if warranty didn't cover it. No, he just flat out said "we can't service it."
3) If you've had my car for over 8 hours, you should at least be able to wash it. I would have driven off SLIGHTLY less pissed if they had at least washed my car. I wasted SO much time on Saturday, and got absolutely NOTHING out of it.
Oh, and I was late to my 6pm dinner.
