Pacheco Smog For the first time in my life, I failed a smog check. My car had some work done and I hadn't driven it much afterward. Got a computer error saying that the catalyst wasn't ready. The service person told me to drive it as much as I could (50-60 miles) and bring it back for a recheck. I read online that it is recommended to drive 200-300 miles over the course of a few days after the battery has been disconnected in order to make the emission monitors "ready". I went 200+ miles before bringing the car back in and I passed the second time. A bit if a hassle because I didn't know how these things work. The test and the retest themselves were quick. Total cost was $61.75 (after Yelp discount) + $35 for recheck. If I had passed the first time, it would have been $70 total (61.75 + 8.25 for certificate). Been going to Pacheco Smog for years. Consistent service, walk-ins only.

Friendly and quick. They do charge 3% credit card fee. I don't like this practice that is invading businesses. It's the business's responsibility to take that charge or just say cash/debit only.

Death, Taxes, and being required by the DMV to get your car smogged every 2 years are some of the sure things in life. So when I got the notice recently, I scanned the reviews for a place that would do it relatively cheap, do a good job, and efficiently send me on my way. Pacheco Smog is a Star facility and is a little hard to find in the "no mans land" between Target and Highway 4, but it's well worth the time and effort (and the online coupon) to get the job done. The guy who tested my car was friendly, informative, and professional. And that's as good as it gets for keeping up my driving privilege. read more

He helped me through an engine light snafu that he could have easily exploited, while giving me tips and advice about how to have the car in the best shape possible. My family and I have been going to Pacheco Smog for our vehicles the last few years now. As always, they are professional, efficient and make the process easy for a reasonable price. I have a pretty old vehicle I'm still driving, and they explained clearly the extra testing required for old cars. I was still in and out of there in about 20 minutes and didn't need to make an appointment. Thorough, honest, fast and STAR certified. Can't ask for much more for getting your smog test done. read more

Took my mom's Lexus in for a smog and the crew is great. Very nice and polite. Although it took a little longer than the usual 10 minutes, it was still very quick. To be fair, I was about 3rd or 4th in line. Keep up the good job! read more

Need a smog? come here, no brainer. I personally witnessed the person in front of me had a check engine light, instead of running it and failing the guy the tech came out and informed him that it would be an auto fail if he wished to continue and even pulled the codes for him to let him know what to take care of. He was happy that he didnt waste his money I was happy that I get to go next with no wait. Everybody wins. My personal experience, the staff was knowledgeable, paperwork was short, smog was done very promptly, they said 20 minutes but it felt like 5, afterward the receptionist informed me of the outcome as well as what numbers the DMV needed and next steps. Everything was automatically sent to them and I just need to go online finish the registration. Awesome guys that put a smile on my face. The facilities does include a restroom, seating, and light refreshments. read more

Closest way to having your smog done and actually enjoy the experience! Dezmond and the PS team we're extremely professional and cool. The facilities are clean and offer beverages and 4K TV to view while waiting. I came in on a Wed afternoon w/out appointment and was cleared and gone in 5-10 mins. 5 stars read more

They are quick, friendly, professional and reasonably priced. I looked around for a place to get my wife's car smogged, and was amazed by the variety of quotes I got for a simple smog check on a car with less than 40,000 miles on it. I ended up choosing Pacheco Smog because they responded quickly, were upfront and honest, and didn't try to hide anything. I was greeted with a smile and a handshake, has a clear and concise conversation with the staff, and my car was inspected, passed, certified, and back in my hands within 10 minutes. The cost was the same as the lower end of the prices I had been quoted from others. They are great and will take my car back there anytime I need another smog test. read more

Worst smog facility! If I could give negative stars I would. Let me start by saying we were faithful customers for 15+ years we also referred MANY friends on family to this company. in the past 2 years it's under NEW ownership. 4 out of 4 of my cars previously passed by this facility all FAILED! While walking around and asking everyone outside was on their second smog appointment meaning they had failed as well! To add salt into my wound my RV Passed all emissions and test they could not read the numbers on my headers. WHAT sounds like they just want more money! Went from $100.00 to $160.00 for the original Smog now If I can't find the header numbers they will charge an additional $80.00 sounds to me like they failing to get the extra money! read more

Also, I appreciated that I was given the option to either be attended by the "new" employee or, if I was in a rush, I could be attended by the experienced employee training the new employee. I was not in a rush. They explained what my money was going to pay for. I appreciated that! I have never had to deal with a "smog check" but they made the process easy! read more

I was looking for a Smog Test Station and came across Pacheco Smog in Yelp by doing a Google search. In all honesty in reading all the 5 star reviews I did not understand how a smog test station can rate so highly or why anybody would bother to rate a Smog Station. After my smog test I can honestly say I can now understand all the hype. The owner of this Smog Test station has brought back the meaning of great customer service. Best smog inspection experience to date. I walked in and received a warm welcome from the owner Hirmand. After chatting for a bit he gave me the history of the business, including how he choose the location. The entire process took 15 minutes and I walked out paying $50 (vehicle 2000 and older) after a $10 Yelp Checkin discount. Awesome! Post inspection his assistant explained what had been done, next steps with the DMV etc. I highly recommend this place. Fast service, great price and friendly people. read more

I needed smog check for my 1996 Jeep to complete the registration with the DMV. So I called several local Smog Stations and finally talked with Hirmand at Pacheco Smog. He was very friendly and up front with his pricing with me and so I chose to have him smog the car. After arriving, there was one car ahead of me and he said he would have me out of there in fifteen minutes. It was true! Just want to say, this is the cleanest shop I've ever been too. The customer service by the owner is superb. I work in the area but live in yolo county.
